The drills involved the JGSDF's 1st Artillery Brigade and 2nd Artillery Brigade. Footage released by the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force showed a surface-to-ship missile being launched from a mobile launcher during the exercise. The JGSDF said it would continue training to maintain and improve its capabilities for the defense of Japan following the missile firing drills, which were held from Aug. 16 to 22.
