Health Ministry in Gaza warns that ambulance and transportation services may halt.

.GAZA, PALESTINE - JULY 12, 2026: Health Ministry in Gaza warned that transportation and ambulance services could come to a halt, and reported that the remaining vehicles have become unable to meet daily needs. “Those that remain from the old vehicles used for transportation and ambulance services are no longer in condition to meet daily needs”, Mahmud Hammad, Director General of Administrative Affairs at the Health Ministry in Gaza, said at a press conference held in front of the Ambulance and Emergency Services Center building. Pointing out that the vehicles have become inoperable due to accumulation of technical malfunctions and the unavailability of spare parts, Hammad noted that Israel continuing the siege on the Gaza Strip and its refusal to allow the entry of tires and spare parts could lead to a complete shutdown of the transportation system. Hammad also said that the Health Ministry is facing serious shortages of equipment, devices, medications, and medical supplies. Hammad noted that this situation has been further exacerbated by the targeting of health facilities and vehicles belonging to the ministry, during the attacks Israel has been carrying out since October 8, 2023. Gaza has been devastated by Israel's genocidal war since Oct. 8, 2023, with more than 73,000 Palestinians killed and over 173,000 injured, according to Palestinian figures. Israeli attacks have also damaged or destroyed about 90% of the enclave's infrastructure.
