Accra, Ghana - September 20, 2026 Ghana's parliament member Mavis Kuukua Bissue speaks at the 2026 Ghana Diaspora Town Hall Meeting in Accra on September 20, 2026, outlining a proposal to build a historical museum in the Western Region to house the remains of King Badu Bonsu II and other Ahanta leaders executed by Dutch colonial forces in 1838, along with traditional artifacts being repatriated from the Netherlands. Bissue said she had consulted with President John Dramani Mahama on the project, which would honor Ahanta ancestors who resisted colonization and slavery.
