VARIOUS OF COFFIN CARRIED THROUGH CROWD AMID CHANTSGAZA CITY, PALESTINE - JUNE 15, 2026: Palestinians in Gaza City held a funeral ceremony at Al-Shifa Medical Complex for 40-year-old Khalil al-Masri, who died after being wounded by Israeli sniper fire. Family members, relatives, and residents gathered to pay their final respects before the funeral prayer. The coffin was later carried through the crowd amid chants as mourners bid farewell to al-Masri. More than 9,600 Palestinians, including 350 children and 73 women, are currently held in Israeli prisons and face torture, starvation and medical neglect, according to Palestinian and Israeli rights organizations. Since the start of Israel’s genocide on Gaza on Oct. 8, 2023, nearly 73,000 Palestinians have been killed and more than 173,000 injured, while about 90 percent of the territory’s civilian infrastructure has been destroyed.
