VARIOUS OF COMPETITIONS BEING HELDPARIS, FRANCE - AUG. 19, 2026: The Esports World Cup 2026 entered its final week in Paris on Wednesday, Aug. 19, after six weeks of competition across some of the world's most popular esports titles. The seven-week event, which began July 6 and will conclude Aug. 23, features 25 tournaments across 24 games, bringing together leading players and esports clubs from around the world. The competitions are being held at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, with the Counter-Strike 2 grand final scheduled for Aug. 23 at Accor Arena. The opening weeks produced several high-profile champions. 100 Thieves won the VALORANT competition after defeating NRG 3-1 in the final, earning $600,000 and 1,000 Club Championship points. In League of Legends, South Korea's Dplus KIA defeated France's Karmine Corp 3-0 to claim its first EWC title and $600,000. Team Spirit also captured the Mobile Legends Mid Season Cup, defeating Yangon Galacticos 4-3 in a dramatic final, while Team Vision dominated the Teamfight Tactics competition with a 3-0 victory over Aurora Gaming. In PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, Virtus.pro claimed the title after finishing the Grand Finals Marathon with 159 points. The tournament also featured individual stars. Magnus Carlsen won the chess competition, while Luis Guadalupe "DarkAngel" Castillo Gomez became the first EWC champion in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. M. Zubair won TEKKEN 8, while Team Falcons' Craime claimed the Street Fighter 6 title. In the team competitions, FaZe Clan won Rainbow Six Siege, S2G Esports claimed the PUBG Mobile World Cup and Team Falcons won Rocket League. The Rocket League final saw Falcons defeat Spacestation Gaming 4-0, securing the $400,000 first prize. The results have also shaped the EWC Club Championship, which carries a separate $30 million prize pool. With four tournaments remaining, Team Falcons lead the standings with 4,400 points, followed by AG.AL with 4,300 and Natus Vincere with 2,450. The eventual Club Championship winner will receive $7 million, with $5 million for second place and $4 million for third. The final week is now centered on Counter-Strike 2, Fortnite Reload, CrossFire and Trackmania. CS2 brings 32 teams to Paris, while Trackmania is making its EWC debut with 32 players. Fortnite Reload will crown its inaugural EWC champion, adding another major storyline to the closing days of the event. With only four days remaining, the final competitions will determine the remaining game champions as well as the winner of the EWC Club Championship, bringing the seven-week esports event to a close on Aug. 23.
