Ferrari has revealed the all-electric energy system that will power its groundbreaking Hypersail racing yacht. The 100-foot foiling yacht is designed to sail across oceans without using any fossil fuels. Power comes from solar panels, wind turbines and even the crew whose effort is turned into electricity through Ferrari's new Winch-by-Wire system. The energy is stored in high-voltage batteries to run the yacht's sails, hydrofoils and onboard systems. Ferrari says the technology allows the Hypersail to be completely energy self-sufficient while racing offshore. New images show the futuristic yacht taking shape ahead of sea trials planned for 2027.
