The Communist Party of China (CPC) has played an "instrumental" role in maintaining China's national unity while fostering rapid economic and technological progress, said Ali El-Hefny, a veteran Egyptian diplomat. El-Hefny, former Deputy Foreign Minister of Egypt and current chairman of the Egypt-China Friendship Association, made the remarks as the CPC marks its 105th founding anniversary this year. El-Hefny also praised the CPC's governance and its contributions to promoting global justice. He added that Egypt and other African nations have drawn valuable lessons from the Chinese experience, particularly in the eradication of poverty. Egypt was the first Arab and African country to recognize the People's Republic of China. Looking toward the future cooperation between Egypt and China, El-Hefny expressed great optimism, citing the good relationship between the two nations' leaders. And when you say this, you think immediately about development, and the role that the CPC has played as far as maintaining the economic growth, trying always to increase that rate. But also it has made a very impressive advancement as far as technology is concerned, as far as the high-tech, the artificial intelligence." [SHOT OVERLAYING SOUNDBITE]; FILE: China - Date Unknown 3. There is chemistry even between the two of them. Their perceptions as far as the international affairs and regional affairs are almost the same. We look at the future with a great deal of optimism. Why? China has become one of the main investors in Egypt. China invests almost 8 billion dollars in Egypt. China's enterprises have reached the number of 3,300 lately, and the number is increasing. So we are very optimistic about the future of our relationship, our cooperation, not just on a bilateral level, but between China and Africa, the horizons are quite wide, there is a lot to be done in this respect."
