Storyline Digital scents create high-tech sensory experiences for Chinese consumers Audience members at this performance in east China's Zhejiang Province are experiencing a spectacle for their eyes, ears and noses. The air is perfumed with tea and osmanthus aromas to match the theme of the show, which adds another level of immersion for viewers. Wu Zhilin, Audience member: "The scent made me feel like I was really surrounded by a sea of flowers." Maria, Foreign tourist: "The perfume was not only one scent but multiple scents. It was a beautiful show." Besides art and live performances, digital scent technology is being incorporated into more scenarios in China including in ride-hailing cars, or in museums. At the China National Tea Museum, the aromas of different kinds of tea have been programmed into scent diffusers, allowing visitors to learn the distinct fragrant notes of teas from different regions. Visitor: "In this way, we can not only learn about the tea but also has a deeper understanding of the tea leaves as it's more interactive. This approach not only helps us learn the knowledge about tea but also enhances interaction and deepens our understanding of the tea itself." Hotels in China, meanwhile, are using smart aromatherapy diffusers as part of their guest services menu. [Restrictions: No access Chinese mainland]
