Azerbaijan: Baku Climate Action Week 2026 begins with focus on COP31.

The UNFCCC’s fourth Climate Week is also taking place in Baku during the same period. Mukhtar Babayev, the Azerbaijani president’s representative on climate issues and COP29 president, said the main goal of the event was to strengthen climate action, turn negotiations into concrete steps and accelerate new partnerships. The first day of Baku Climate Action Week included panels and roundtable meetings on energy transition, climate finance, industrial decarbonization, methane emissions, carbon markets, regional energy cooperation, renewable energy certificates, green hydrogen and investment opportunities. Türkiye’s southwestern Antalya city will host the 31st iteration of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP31) in late November.
