The female dolphin, named "Fraggle" by researchers from Australia's Geographe Marine Research, was filmed balancing the calf on her back and preventing it from sinking. According to the researchers, the calf had been born only two weeks earlier and had shown signs of respiratory problems before its death. Scientists said Fraggle carried her calf for six days while being accompanied by the other 14 dolphins in her pod, which swam alongside her during the ordeal.
