The event centered on the burning of the Gran Fantoche de las Miserias, a giant handcrafted figure built by local residents to symbolize the release of personal and social hardships. Participants also cast smaller symbolic puppets into the fire representing issues including war, hunger, violence, unemployment and discrimination. The celebration, rooted in the traditions of San Juan Night, combined music, performances and fire rituals as communities came together to mark renewal and hope for the year ahead.
