Elon Musk departs White House role, maintains ties with Trump

President Donald Trump's special government employee, Elon Musk, is leaving the White House

However, he's expected to keep close ties with the administration. And Elon's really not leaving. He's going to be back and forth, I think. I have a feeling

It's his baby, and I think he's going to be doing a lot of things. But Elon's service to America has been without comparison in modern history

The president brought on the billionaire and Tesla CEO to head up the Department of Government

Efficiency, also known as DOGE, the initiative was created to find and eliminate waste, fraud

and abuse from the government and create more streamlined operations. Even though Musk might

be leaving the nation's capital, many of DOGE's employees are staying on the team and continuing

the mission. This is not the end of DOGE, but really the beginning. My time as a special government

employee necessarily had to end. It was a limited time thing. It's 134 days, I believe, which ends

in a few days. Trump thanked Musk for all his work. The president and Musk both said they're

projecting Doge's cuts to create substantial savings. It is permeating throughout the government

and I'm confident that over time we'll see a trillion dollars of savings and a reduction in

a trillion dollars of waste and fraud reduction. Not everyone was a fan of Musk being in the White

House Critics argue that his position allowed him to leverage government influence to benefit his private ventures such as Tesla and SpaceX U Senator Sheldon Whitehouse and 10 other senators called for a federal investigation into allegations that

Musk used his Whitehouse position to secure favorable treatment for Starlink in countries

like India, Bangladesh and Pakistan. Musk also dealt with major blowback while serving as a

special government employee. In April, the Tesla CEO announced that he would be scaling back his

government work to focus on his electric car company, which reported a 71 percent year over

year decline in net income to 409 million dollars, Straight Arrow News reported last month

Multiple protests have erupted at Tesla dealerships across the country since President Donald Trump

took office, and several Tesla owners have reported incidents of vehicle vandalism

Musk was asked if his time in the government was worth it to him

I think it was a necessary thing, and I think it will have a good effect in the future. While speaking to reporters from the Oval Office Friday, President Trump also announced that he

believes a deal with Iran will happen soon, saying that he wants a deal without bombs being dropped

all over the Middle East. During the meeting, Trump also touched on a possible ceasefire between

Hamas and Israel, and he said he'll announce that if the two sides come to an agreement in the coming
