A lot goes into crafting a frightening and compelling movie villain, and often times it seems like sheer chance is involved as much as talent and timing. When it comes to George Lucas' sci-fi epic, "Star Wars," no one comes close to the metallic and ruthless Darth Vader in terms of sheer villainy and intimidation. Of course, a huge aspect of that is owed to James Earl Jones, who provided the voice for the iconic baddy and etched many classic lines into fans' memory. But that wasn't always the case.
