The 2005 romantic comedy "The 40-year-Old Virgin" features a scene in which the lead character, Andy Stitzer (played by Steve Carrell), attempts to get his chest waxed but has to stop the process because the pain was too unbearable. The scene was hilarious but it also may have scared a lot of men away from getting their chest waxed. Carrell has said in previous interviews that he actually got his chest waxed in the scene and immediately thought it was a dumb idea.
