I'm 98% certain that this was probably built under duress. Dorset, in the south-west of England
0:23
is home to a stunning vehicle with a dark past. When Germany occupied France, they loved Persia and they kept Persia going
0:33
Apparently officers of the German army, and they were all unusual vehicles for toys for themselves
0:39
And the workers of Persia were being made to build this car
0:43
It's a product of that period. It's a history that took place and we can't rewrite it
0:49
If something came creative out of it, it's quite astounding. After being neglected and left to Rust for almost 70
0:57
years. Andy bought the Peugeot in an online auction and had it shipped over from France
1:04
It was dilapidated, just collapsed. He then set about transforming this World War II relic
1:12
into an Art Deco-inspired masterpiece. The truck was so rusty that just everything was
1:20
disposed of and I just kept the panels that I needed. It had a flat screen originally and it had a really
1:25
ugly roof line the roof line went up like the new transit shape that has been chopped
1:31
lengthened the back of shorten the tail and it's not just perjot parts that complete
1:37
this incredible conversion the chassis is ford ranger seats are jaguar jaguar jaguar buckets the steering wheel is very early Porsche The front wings are 1937 SS Jaguar French 1930 side lights
1:52
The dashboard is the original speed open, painted in two tone to match the seats
1:57
Perjot Lion original mascot. The bonnet and the grill used to be one piece
2:04
And I've separated that. Original Art Deco, Potoh. hotel door pools. The only original part of the car
2:14
which hasn't been touched in any way whatsoever are the headlights. Completed with an amazing paint job
2:22
and named Metropolis and his creation certainly turns heads when it hits the road
2:34
When you drive this people don't know what it is. I've now built 58 cars, just hopscotches across every genre of unusual vehicles
2:45
With so many builds under his belt, it's no surprise that Andy's already onto his next project
2:52
I've just started this French style two-seater, huge roadster, which is all fenders with no tiles on display
3:03
Driving around in the car like this is just this good fun. Metropolis is an Art Deco sculpture

I would love this to go to a museum
