Hi, it's Ray from Pro Shaper again, and we're gonna do the Free tool that you can build yourself and this is the ingredients to it right here
0:26
We got some delrin that's about five inches long or so and a piece of one inch cold rolled steel and
0:34
This is a sleeve and it's a perfect one inch ID and the cold roll will fit really nice in it like that and
0:44
The delrin will fit in really nice like that so What I'm going to do is I'm gonna have mark put this all up on the website with the dimensions and stuff and and
0:55
You can source the materials all yourself using our dimensions or we're going to offer a little package for sale
1:02
On our website, but let me take this now and we'll put this together into what it becomes
1:08
All right. So I mocked this so it'll go in about an inch and a quarter or so
1:15
Bring that in to where the magic marker line is And we'll weld that up. I have that welded all up a nice TIG weld on there and now
1:26
These will go on here and what we're making is a caulking tool the caulking tool allows you to
1:33
Focus on a little spot It's it's great also with the plastic tooling that it will not mar the material so say if you're straightening out
1:45
trim stainless steel trim moldings or something on your on your car and you're going to take those dents out and you can get in the back side and
1:54
knock those dents out with the with the Delrin and you can custom tailor all these ends to
2:02
whatever suits your situation the best so that's what we're going to do now is just take a couple of these and
2:08
we'll grind them up and and One I'll grind and one I'll turn in the lathe
2:13
But you really don't need a lathe you can you can use a little three-inch grinder with a roll lock disk and
2:19
Shape these up in a bunch of different ways. You can have a real sharp point a dull point a square
2:26
a chisel So we'll make a couple of them up to you so you get the idea
2:31
And like I said, you can make them yourself source the material yourself or if you want to make it easier
2:37
We'll cut all these pieces and we face them off in the lathe and we'll have it as a little kit
2:42
You know before sale on our website pro shaper.com so let's put this in the lathe and
3:25
Oh There we go, so I made a little
3:36
Sharper point there and now we'll grind it a little bit. I'm gonna move it out from the
3:42
Chuck a little bit over to here And maybe get some sandpaper and just sand it a little bit
4:49
That should do it that's a nice little tip there And now we'll try that in the holder alright, so that's the one we did in the lathe now
4:59
Let's do one with just a little three-inch grinder. We'll do a Chisel and on now you could do this in a mill too
5:06
But and you could make that round one with this two three-inch grinder pretty easy
5:13
You can bandsaw this too if you want didn't want to grind I finish it off with a little hook and loop disc 120 grit That was a 50 grit
6:25
Oh Yeah, so that would be a nice little tool to take dents out in
6:51
stainless steel moldings and trim pieces You can just kind of massage that out
6:58
So we pop that in and There's a piece of 18 gauge steel
7:11
That gives you a nice little soft impact and it's directed exactly where you want it if you've got a
7:19
swinging hammer the End result the way you're gonna strike is sometimes not right where you hoped it to be
7:27
This you can put it right on where you want it And give it a tap and you can change out the heads really quick
7:37
So you're gonna do over here And that'll give you a nice little round tap and that's a chisel tap there now
7:46
Now, right now when you change these out the vacuum is kind of holding them in so they don't fall out
7:54
But a little trick I learned years ago. I've made these for quite a few years
7:58
A lot of my students say why don't you offer these for sale? And well, it's a lot of work to make them. So that's why I'm trying to do them as a little plan
8:06
so You can take a prick punch And just hit this with the prick punch you can see now
8:13
There's a little bit of resistance mostly from the vacuum So just prick punch this right here like this
8:28
Until it starts to have an impact It's gonna squeeze that a little bit right there Yeah
8:43
All right, it's really holding really good now So that little prick punch mark will ensure that they won't fall out
8:55
so these you get five and a kid if you want to buy them from us and Like you said you can grind up the ends Let me just do a grinding of a round on the
9:05
Let's make a more blunt one. So you can Put it on it on a table like this
10:25
Oh There's a nice little blunt end and
10:55
That's a little bit different Whoop
11:09
So there's three ends there's an infinite variety of ends you can make so
11:17
That's a nice little tool I've been using those for years it allows you to get in those little tight
11:23
confined spaces and It's easy work to make them up So the plans will be on the website
11:32
Pro shaper calm Take a shot make these tools. You'll really enjoy using them. They're great little tools. I've been using them for years and
11:41
Hope you learned something. It's Ray from Pro Shaper workshop and and
