along time since i've been out and it's been a while since i released a video and i want to apologize to people

during the day working at night and uh... just my life is kind of turned upside down right now and i'm really trying to

find time to get out in the woods and do videos so i come out to the woods today and i'm going to enjoy my time off today

uh... i'm gonna have a pipe i'm gonna cook up some lunch over a fire

and i'm gonna show you some new gear that i just got uh..

haven't even thought about it and uh... that's sad because i really enjoy being out in the woods it's really a decompression

and it's been a long hard winter tons of snow here in central ohio uh..

just made it difficult to get out and then with working night shift

and adjusting to that and getting my sleep schedule all adjusted my days have just been spent sleeping and uh..

this is really one of the nicer days we've had recently and i thought i need to get out i need to make this happen i need to get off my butt

and get out there so that's what i'm going to do

what are we going to look at today well i got recently

a very interesting canteen kit from boundless voyage they are on amazon

and they make a lot of interesting titanium cook kits and canteen kits

and this one looked really cool to me because it had a few features that

i always look for in a canteen kit and i've always wanted and this one has it

so we're going to take a look at that today cook up some lunch

so it's not going anywhere but what's cool about this canteen cup is

is that it has a bale as well as folding handles so you can cook on this thing uh... over a stove but also you can hang it over a fire

you know military uh... canteen cook sets uh... have these uh... you know stoves with them

this canteen this cup and stove and it has a lid uh... are right around forty five dollars forty nine dollars on amazon

so it's really affordable so all you have to do is add a canteen to it and you're ready to go

so what we're going to do is we're going to get a fire going underneath this thing get some water boiling and cook some ramen for lunch

i cut this piece with my saw and uh... i'm using a new knife today

it's under four inches right through a knot, that's pretty good

for a stove so for these spring trips, summer trips it's going to be pretty handy

winter time will be a little more difficult of course you want a bigger fire and that's where the bale comes into play

i've always wanted a canteen cup with a bale and now i've got one so i'm pretty happy about it

and i do own the heavy cover style canteen set uh... the canteen does not fit inside this cup

so that's one thing to note and i don't think i don't think the uh..

you know the self-reliance outfitter's canteen would fit either but the Nalgene Oasis fits perfectly and i really don't need a stainless or
