You don’t need trendy powders or pricey blends to eat powerfully.
Some of the most hyped “superfoods” come with surprising risks and many of the best options are already in your kitchen.
Here are 3 swaps where real food comes out ahead:
🫐 Goji berries → Try dried cherries or apples
Most goji berries tested had multiple pesticide residues - sometimes up to 13 each! Organic wasn’t any better.
🟢 Spirulina & chlorella → Swap for spinach
Contamination with bacteria, liver toxins, and even neurotoxins is more common than you’d think. Organic brands weren’t exempt.
🍠 Maca powder → Choose sweet potatoes or yams
Maca often bioaccumulates heavy metals and is sometimes adulterated with chemicals or are laden with cheap fillers. And even though there may be benefits, you can get the same that's cleaner & cheaper.
Bottom line? Real food is powerful. It’s nutrient-rich, safer, and way more satisfying.
Skip the hype. Turnip the beet instead.
