Speedwell or Veronica spicata is a very popular perennial plant, but many speedwell are just plain boring with dull purple flower spikes. But the cultivar 'Royal Candles' totally changes up the game. This high performing perennial has vibrant purple colored flowers on plants that are much more compact than most Veronica. They are quick to establish in the garden and retain lovely foliage throughout the growing season, making them a huge asset in the garden.
