7 Drought Tolerant Favorite Plants for your Garden

Feb 9, 2026
Autumn and Winter are the seasons for reflecting on your garden's performance that year, seeking to fill gaps that may have persisted, and researching new plants that you may want to consider adding to your garden the following spring. This video shows 7 of my favorite DROUGHT TOLERANT plants to add to your garden. Depending on where you live, they may or may not be winter hardy enough for your region, but a few of them definitely will be. I also demonstrate some of the qualities you should look for when determining whether a particular plant will in fact be drought tolerant, and which types of plants tend to need less water than others. Included in this video are Russian Sage (Salvia yanglii, previously Perovskia), Blue Fescue (Festuca glauca), various Succulents, Olive (Olea), Eucalyptus, Dusty Miller (Senecio spp.), and Lamb's Ear (Stachys byzantina). I would love to hear some of your favorite Drought Tolerant Plants in the comments below!
