Fishbone Orchid Cactus (Cryptocereus anthonyanus & Epiphyllum spp) Propagation and Growing Advice
Feb 16, 2026
Orchid Cactus is a common name referring to a number of different succulents such as species of Epiphyllum and Cryptocereus. They are excellent, easy growing houseplants that with time will produce show stopping flowers resembling orchids. While they are not cactus, they have thick, fleshy foliage that kind of looks like cactus, hence the name.
But my favorite part about them is how easy and rewarding they are to propagate. In this video I show you exactly how to take cuttings and what to do with them to prepare for getting potted up again. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to comment below!
