Now, let's start. Sleep Number has been on the American market for over 35 years
1:13
They specialize in production of Sleep Number and Comfort Airbeds as well as Sleepwear
1:18
Unfortunately, according to the reviews on our website, It seems that the solid age and the fact that they are key players in the market have not been the basis for the Sleep Number's impeccable performance
1:31
Sleep Number has been immersed in litigation with Dyers. The bat manufacturer was accused of monopolization, torturous interference, fraudulent trading, and unjust enrichment
1:42
Dyers also accused Sleep Number of false, misleading, and defamatory product reviews and comments
1:49
Slip number representatives promised to fight the lawsuit. We hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards in all of our business practices
1:58
and strongly dispute these baseless claims, which are very similar and in many cases identical to the allegations
2:05
that were raised by the same parties in a lawsuit in 2016
2:10
and were promptly dismissed by the court. Not only do competitors have questions about slip number, but so do users
2:17
Based on nearly a thousand reviews on Piss Consumer website, the slip number gets only 1.8 stars out of 5
2:25
Among the other things, the negative reviews concern the quality of the product
2:31
Just one day and decided to stop in the store. We're from Springfield, Missouri
2:36
So we went in the store and they did their whole presentation and all that stuff
2:43
And so I mean we ultimately obviously purchased one It was the P5 model We also purchased the adjustable base head and foot thing not massaging it up
2:56
So signed the papers, went home, scheduled the delivery date, everything was going well
3:05
at that point. I was out of town when they delivered it, but they delivered it on time, showed up, set
3:14
up everything so Rachel sleeps on it that night and of course I'm out of town
3:22
so I'm anxious to see what she thought so I text her the next morning how's it
3:28
going she was just kind of like well just kind of okay you know well they'd
3:32
already told us that you know we're gonna have to adjust to it and all this type of thing blah blah blah so he's kind of blew it I just kind of blew it
3:39
off but so i finally come home and and she'd been sleeping on a few days and still wasn't
3:46
she still wasn't liking it i slept on i thought it was horrible from day one she she did too
3:53
you know by the time morning got there my side had bottomed out like sleeping in a trench
3:59
it was like in a hammock every day and by it was delivered on the 28th and by november 1st i was
4:08
in there asking about it and that's when they said you had to give it two weeks. So I lived two miles
4:16
from there. I laid down on theirs and then I went home and tried to recreate that at home and
4:22
I couldn't do it. They at two weeks they said they changed and said you had to have the bed
4:29
for 30 days before you could make any kind of an assumption about whether or not you liked it
4:35
And I was in there several times, at least once a week, trying to recreate how it felt in the store to the one that I had at home
4:45
So then at 30 days, I had him call customer service because the local store wouldn't do anything to help us
4:54
And all I got was wait two weeks. Then I had to wait until 30 days
4:59
Besides the quality of the products, our users complain about the non-transparent pricing policy
5:06
There wasn't any agreement signed. There was paperwork that came with the mattress when we completed the transaction
5:14
But we didn't sign any agreements, and the whole return process was never explained to us
5:19
No, that's not true. It was explained. It was explained like this. You can return it, no questions asked, get your money back
5:25
So I was like, all right, well, this seems pretty safe. And so we tried out the mattress
5:30
Delivery happened. Everything went fine until we decided to return it because it just wasn what we ended up wanting And then they wanted to charge us all kinds of extra money And the return policy and the monies they want to charge
5:46
were not explained to us at the beginning or at any point in the process
5:50
It was on the paperwork that they gave us, like some kind of a, you know
6:00
I used to work in sales, so I'm familiar with this, but I don't know what they call it. But, you know, when you sell big ticket items, appliances and things, there's certain things that the store will do for the customer that the store won't do for the customer
6:11
And you you make sure the customer knows that and they sign the paper and you keep that in your file so you can say, hey, look, you signed the agreement later on
6:18
We didn't sign anything and we never knew about it until we tried to return it. So there was a two hundred dollar return fee that they wanted to charge us
6:27
And and then they wanted to try to charge after that part of the sale price that we had gotten
6:32
They wanted to kind of tack that on. So we would end up having to pay $400 one way or the other, either by withholding part of the refund or charging money, you know, one way or the other
6:45
They wanted to get about $400 back from us in order to return the mattress
6:49
That was going to be a like a restocking fee and a and a pickup takedown fee and all that
6:57
So I was able to get out of half of that, but it took a lot of phone calls to their customer service department and talking to managers
7:05
I mean, a couple of hours, a couple of two-hour different phone calls at least
7:13
And I mean, that's it. It's just there were two main things which really ticked me off about the whole thing
7:20
The one that in the store, the fact that they wanted to charge you a return fee was not part of it
7:28
You get your money back, but then they're going to take $200 off the refund for the pickup and return fee
7:34
And then that was never explained. I mean, at any point until we decided, okay, we're not going to keep it
7:42
And then the second thing that kind of bothered me after the fact was the delivery and setup fee that they charged that we did have to pay
7:51
That was non-refundable. That was at the beginning of it. And I told them I didn't need any installation
7:57
I could handle that myself. I'm pretty handy. It's not that complicated. And they made it sound as if it really was
8:03
And they really needed their people to do it. and you never know what kind of situation you're going to get
8:09
when you walk into someone's house and see what kind of bed platform they have. Well, as it turns out, it was not complicated at all
8:17
and it just was stupid that they made you pay for that
8:21
And they don't give you an option not to pay for it. They tell you that you have to pay for delivery and setup if you want to be able to return the mattress So you know but that not included in the literature up front
8:36
So I just think those practices are a little silly. I don't like people playing games with marketing and all that kind of stuff
8:45
I just kind of like, you know, if the mattress price is $1,000, but you're never going to allow the customer to not get it delivered
8:54
then just say it's $1,200 and it includes delivery and setup because you can't, they wouldn't let you get out of that
9:02
You know, so don't say it's $1,000. And then when they say, okay, we're going to buy this $1,000 mattress
9:07
Okay, it'll be $1,000 plus delivery and setup, which is 200. Well, I don't want to, I'll just, I'll just set it up myself
9:13
Oh no, that's not an option. Well then just include it up front
9:18
That, that kind of bothered me. But I allowed, but I, you know, I let them talk me into, I didn't make a big deal out of it
9:24
Now I would. But when it turns out, I wasn't home when they delivered it
9:28
and I wasn't home when they eventually came and picked it up. And my wife told me that when they delivered it, they basically unwrapped it
9:33
They took it out of the box or whatever, unwrapped it, laid it out on our bed, plugged it in
9:39
That's not that complicated. But quality and price issues become secondary when a bed may simply not arrive
9:47
I placed the order. They set up a delivery time of three weeks, which was a Tuesday of last week
9:56
So it was supposed to be delivered between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m
10:05
10 a.m. rolled around. I followed the length that sleep number provided me to get an update that was going to narrow it in that window
10:14
and they said that they should be there approximately 10 20 a.m uh so that was about
10:21
10 o'clock when i got that notification um at 10 16 i get a phone call that says they're canceling
10:29
um so i've now taken uh basically the most of the day off work at a financial loss and
10:37
And to make matters worse, they can't give me any reason for the cancellation
10:43
And after speaking with the lady on the phone for an extended period of time, just trying to get an answer, which I could not
10:50
they said that they were simply rescheduling for February 18th and that that was it
10:57
I had no say in the matter. You may find more reviews on Sleep Number on the Peace Consumer website and share your experience with this company
11:05
We can only hope that Slip Number listens to its customers and changes its work for the better
11:10
That's all for today! Thank you so much for watching this video. See you next time
