UNEXPLAINED KENTUCKY: Terrifying Encounters Through the Bluegrass to the Backwoods
Aug 22, 2026
Kentucky’s wooded hollows, isolated farms, cave systems, and dark country roads have inspired generations of unsettling stories. But what happens when the people telling those stories insist that the legends are real?
In this episode of Phantoms & Monsters Radio, we examine eight extraordinary reports from across the Bluegrass State.
The witnesses describe a Dogman pounding on a family’s front door, the bear-and-wolf-like creature known as Bearilla, a mysterious white Bigfoot seen by separate relatives, a violent Sheepsquatch encounter in Breckinridge County, tiny winged beings near Daniel Boone National Forest, a towering red-eyed figure on a western Kentucky road, human-like creatures in northern Kentucky, and a bizarre Falmouth encounter involving telepathy, multiple entities, a doorway of light, and missing time.
Are these cases examples of misidentified wildlife, Appalachian folklore, unknown cryptids, paranormal manifestations, or something even stranger?
Listen to the complete presentation and decide for yourself.

Heat.
1:42
[music] Hey, heat. Hey, heat.
2:09
Hey folks, welcome to Phantoms of
2:11
Monsters Radio.
2:14
Kentucky is a land shaped by contrast.
2:18
Its cities look toward the modern world,
2:20
while beyond them lie miles of farmland,
2:23
wooded ridges, limestone caves, isolated
2:27
creek bottoms, and Appalachian hollows
2:29
where darkness can feel absolute.
2:32
Now, in those places, stories travel
2:34
differently. They pass between
2:36
relatives, hunters, farmers, and
2:39
neighbors. Some are told openly, others
2:41
remain hidden for decades, shared only
2:43
when a witness finally decides the risk
2:46
of ridicule is less important than the
2:49
need to speak. Now, many of these
2:52
stories can undoubtedly be traced to the
2:54
ordinary wildlife, changing light, fear,
2:56
memory, or natural human desire to give
2:59
a mysterious event a memorable shape.
3:04
A black bear standing upright can appear
3:06
almost human. Bobcats crack and sound
3:09
unnatural in the darkness. Uh, an owl
3:12
crossing a road in the wrong angle can
3:14
become something enormous and winged.
3:16
But some accounts resist those easy
3:18
explanations.
3:21
They involve more than a fleeting
3:23
shadow. They include multiple witnesses,
3:25
repeated encounters, unusual behavior,
3:28
physical traces, missing time, or
3:31
descriptions that seem to belong not to
3:34
one known animal, but to several
3:36
different creatures combined.
3:39
Tonight, we travel into the unexplained
3:41
side of the blueg grass state. Our
3:44
journey begins in the Appalachian
3:45
foothills of Harlem County, where
3:47
stories of ghosts, Bigfoot, and mountain
3:49
monsters have circulated for
3:50
generations.
3:52
From there, we follow reports of
3:54
Barilla, a white-haired giant, the
3:56
legendary sheep squatch, tiny winged
4:00
beings, a towering roadside apparition,
4:03
and humanoid creatures lurking much
4:05
closer to home. Our final account takes
4:09
us to a farm near Fallmouth where a man
4:11
searching for trespassers claimed to
4:14
encounter three different completely
4:16
different entities. A doorway filled
4:19
with light and several hours of his
4:20
light that he could never explain. Now
4:24
the following accounts are presented as
4:25
they were reported. They are testimony
4:27
not proof and the interpretations remain
4:30
open. Yet whether these stories describe
4:34
unknown animals, folklore made visible,
4:36
altered perception, or something outside
4:38
our present understanding, they have one
4:41
thing in common. The people who
4:43
experience them never looked at the
4:45
Kentucky wilderness in quite the same
4:47
way again. Welcome to unexplained
4:50
Kentucky.
4:53
Now, our first account comes from
4:54
Bailey's Creek in Harland County in the
4:56
foothills of Eastern Kentucky. The
4:59
witness grew up surrounded by what local
5:01
people sometimes called booger stories.
5:04
Tales of hauntings, Bigfoot, Dogman, and
5:07
other things said to wander the
5:09
mountains. The witness writes, "Where I
5:13
grew up, nearly everyone seemed to have
5:15
a relative with an extraordinary story.
5:18
Someone's uncle had seen a Bigfoot while
5:19
hunting. Someone's aunt had encountered
5:21
a ghost inside the old high school. With
5:24
so many stories circling, it was not
5:26
always easy to separate honest
5:28
experience from exaggeration or fiction.
5:32
Now, most of the strange things I
5:34
personally saw or heard in the mountains
5:36
could be attributed to ordinary
5:37
wildlife. I never encountered anything
5:40
that my logical mind could not explain.
5:43
But I was never arrogant enough to
5:45
insist that unexplained creatures could
5:47
not exist. In our community, Dogman was
5:50
blamed for many disturbing incidents.
5:53
People spoke of something killing
5:55
chickens, attacking hikers, trying to
5:57
force its way through doors, or or
5:59
simply creating trouble around remote
6:01
farms. Other stories described it
6:04
stalking people who live deep in the
6:06
woods, staring through windows at night,
6:09
and sometimes even appearing to protect
6:11
isolated residents from unwanted
6:13
visitors.
6:14
Many of the people telling these stories
6:16
enjoyed the attention that came with the
6:18
frightening tale. A few, however, were
6:21
different. They did not volunteer their
6:24
experiences and they spoke only when
6:26
someone asked them directly.
6:28
My grandfather was one of those people.
6:31
He was a practical and highly skeptical
6:34
man. He questioned stories about
6:35
cryptids, ghosts, spirits, and anything
6:37
else considered supernatural. He always
6:40
searched for logical explanation, and
6:42
his questions often frustrated whoever
6:45
was telling the story. That was one
6:47
reason I trusted him. He was the person
6:50
the grandchildren went to when
6:53
frightening stories became too real.
6:56
So one day when I was still young, I
6:58
asked whether he had ever seen anything
7:01
he just could not explain. He remained
7:04
silent for so long that I thought he had
7:06
not heard me. Then he began to tell me
7:08
about the early days after he and my
7:10
grandmother purchased the family
7:12
homestead.
7:13
Neighbors had warned him that monsters
7:15
roam those part of the mountains.
7:18
My grandmother found the stories
7:20
unsettling, but my grandfather dismissed
7:22
them. He assumed people were
7:23
encountering black bears, bobcats, or
7:25
other familiar animals.
7:27
So about 2 months after they moved in,
7:30
he watched a mother bear and her cub
7:32
cross the mountain behind the house.
7:35
That site seemed to confirm his opinion.
7:38
But then one late night, something began
7:41
pounding and scratching at the front
7:43
door. My grandfather retrieved me
7:45
shotgun and looked through the window,
7:47
trying to identify the visitor. And all
7:49
he could see was a massive black shadow
7:51
cast across the porch.
7:53
Expecting a bear or perhaps a person, he
7:56
unlocked the door and pulled it open.
7:58
What stood outside was neither. He
8:01
described an enormous human
8:02
approximately 6 feet tall, maybe 6' 5 in
8:06
tall. It could slightly it it stood
8:09
slightly hunched behind the uh porch
8:12
roof. Its arms were extraordinarily long
8:14
and its knees extended below its its
8:17
hands extended below its bent knees.
8:20
Those knees appeared to bend opposite
8:23
the o the direction of a human's.
8:26
The creature's body was covered in
8:28
thick, dense black hair. An overpowering
8:30
odor surrounded it. A combination of wet
8:32
dog and raw sewage. Its head was the
8:35
feature he remembered most clearly. He
8:37
said it looked like the head of a German
8:39
Shepherd attached to a huge hairy
8:41
human-shaped body.
8:43
And for a moment, the two of them simply
8:45
stared at one another. The creature
8:47
tilted its head and looked down at him.
8:49
To my grandfather's expression seemed to
8:51
contain fear and confusion. He raised
8:54
the shotgun. Before he could fire
8:57
directly at it, the creature turned and
8:58
fled. My grandfather discharged the
9:01
weapon as it ran and believed the shot
9:03
struck the back of its right calf. The
9:06
how of the follow terrified him more
9:07
than anything else he had experienced.
9:10
He rushed inside, bouldered the door,
9:11
and listened as the cries moved deeper
9:14
into the mountains, growing fainter
9:16
until the forest became silent again.
9:19
But according to my grandmother, that
9:21
was not the end of it. He swore that the
9:24
creature he
9:27
my grand excuse me, but according to my
9:29
grandfather, that was not the end of it.
9:32
He swore that the creature returned to
9:33
the house. on several several later
9:35
occasions.
9:37
He would hear it dragging the injured
9:38
leg across the porch as it approached
9:40
the same front door. It never again
9:43
attempted to force its way inside
9:46
and it it sniffed around the entrance.
9:48
It released a low growl and eventually
9:50
disappeared back into the darkness. Now,
9:53
my grandfather told me that many things
9:55
in the mountains could injure or
9:57
frighten a person.
9:59
But nothing he encountered was as
10:01
terrifying as the being that stood on
10:02
the porch that night. Now, he warned me
10:04
never to search for it because
10:06
[clears throat] if I found it, I would
10:09
deeply regret doing so. He has been gone
10:12
for many years, but I still believe what
10:14
he told me.
10:17
His testimony may never prove the
10:19
existence of Dogman or any anyone else.
10:22
To me, however, it remains the most
10:24
convincing unexplained story I have ever
10:26
heard.
10:29
Now that account is compelling not
10:30
because it provides physical proof but
10:33
because of the character of the person
10:34
who reportedly told it. The grandfather
10:37
was remembered as a family skeptic. A
10:39
man most likely to challenge the
10:41
extraordinary claim rather than
10:43
encourage it.
10:45
Yet even a sincere witness can
10:47
misidentify an animal, especially at
10:50
night and under stress. A bear on a
10:52
porch may appear humanoid. Fear can
10:54
destroy proportions and memories can
10:57
change across half a century.
11:00
But what happens when a similar
11:02
descriptions no longer belong to one
11:04
family or one night? What happens when
11:07
reports accumulate across decades and
11:09
the alleged creature appears to combine
11:11
the anatomy of a several known
11:13
predators?
11:14
That brings us to one of Kucky's
11:16
strangest regional cryptids, Borilla.
11:20
For decades, unsettling stories have
11:23
emerged from the deep woods in the Isela
11:25
of Kentucky involving a towering
11:27
creature known locally as Barilla.
11:31
Reports extending back to at least the
11:33
1940s describe violent encounters,
11:35
unusual footprints, and a beast
11:37
seemingly composed of most intimidating
11:41
characteristics of both bear and wolf.
11:44
Skeptics
11:45
regard Burella as folklore,
11:47
exaggeration, or ordinary animal
11:48
distorted through fear. Supporters point
11:51
to the recurring similarities and
11:53
accounts separated by time and
11:55
geography.
11:57
Witness generally describe Borilla as a
12:00
massive broad shouldered. Its huge
12:02
muscular torso reme resembles a bear
12:06
while its head reportedly possesses the
12:07
long pointed muzzle of a wolf or other
12:10
large canine. Accounts also mention
12:13
powerful forlims, prominent teeth, and
12:16
long dagger-like claws.
12:20
The creature sometimes seen on all
12:21
fours, but witnesses claim it can rise
12:23
on two legs and reach an estimated
12:25
height of 6 to 7 foot.
12:28
Now, according to Kentucky crypted
12:30
researcher Roy Coffet or Ron Coffee, the
12:33
earliest known encounter occurred during
12:35
the 1940s. And in that case, a young boy
12:38
was reportedly attacked while playing
12:39
along the creek bank in rural Kentucky.
12:43
The child was injured and badly shaken.
12:45
Coffee had said that the description the
12:47
boy provided provided contain many of
12:49
the same characteristics found in later
12:51
Burillo reports. Now Coffee argues that
12:54
decades of similar testimony should not
12:56
be dismissed as collective imagination.
12:59
Individual witnesses can certainly make
13:02
mistakes, but he believes recurring
13:04
descriptions, especially those
13:05
attributed to people with no known
13:07
connection to one another, deserves
13:10
serious consideration.
13:12
Now, Barela is most strongly associated
13:16
with eastern and central Kentucky, but
13:18
comparable creatures have reportedly
13:20
been seen in Wisconsin, Michigan,
13:23
Pennsylvania, and parts of Canada.
13:26
Many encounters occur in similar
13:27
environments. forested creek beds,
13:30
remote farmlands, isolated roads, and
13:32
heavily wooded hollows far from
13:33
concentrated human activity.
13:36
Some witnesses report more than an
13:39
unusual physical form. They describe a
13:42
sudden and overwhelming sensation of
13:43
fear, occasionally experienced before
13:46
the creature is fully visible. That
13:48
response may be nothing more than an
13:51
instinctive alarm produced by an
13:52
encounter with a large predator. Others
13:55
wonder whether it suggests something
13:56
more unusual.
13:58
Coffee also claims to have recovered
14:00
possible physical evidence
14:03
during a winter investigation in Ba
14:05
County, Kentucky. He discovered a large
14:08
footprint impression and preserved in
14:10
plaster. Now, according to Coffin, the
14:11
track did not display the expected
14:13
anatomy of a bear or wolf. Its
14:16
proportions and toe ranges appear
14:18
unusual, and he believes they correspond
14:21
with witness descriptions of Barella's
14:23
feet.
14:25
One disputed footprint cannot establish
14:28
the existence of an unknown species
14:30
without independent analysis. Additional
14:33
tracks biological material or a
14:34
specimen. The cast remains interesting
14:37
but inconclusive.
14:39
Now some residents are open openly
14:41
skeptical. John Pew who lived in the
14:43
area dismissed the sightings as hoaxes.
14:46
He pointed to the lack of attacks on his
14:49
own animals. His chickens and roosters
14:52
moved freely and were never disturbed.
14:54
While the property remained quiet at
14:56
night, and in fused view, a 7- foot
14:59
canine predator could not inhabit a
15:01
region without repeatedly killing a
15:03
livestock or leaving other obvious
15:05
signs.
15:06
Now, his objection to raises a
15:09
fundamental question. If Bella is a
15:11
flesh and blood animal, what does it eat
15:13
and why does it leave so little
15:15
evidence? Now, coffee counters that led
15:19
that legends rarely survive for
15:21
generations without some factual core.
15:24
The absence of bones or remains, he
15:26
argues, does not necessarily disprove
15:28
the creature's existence if the
15:30
population's exceptionally small,
15:32
elusive, and intelligent.
15:35
He also has entertained the possibility
15:38
that the phenomena might might not be
15:40
entirely biological. suggestion placing
15:42
burill among cryptids that appear
15:45
suddenly behave unpredictably and
15:46
disappear without leaving conventional
15:48
traces.
15:50
Now, investigators [clears throat]
15:51
attempted to locate a surviving witness
15:54
connected to one of the older Kentucky
15:56
encounters, but the last known
15:57
individual had died before a new
15:59
interview could be conducted.
16:02
Now, the Borilla story consequently rest
16:06
upon old testimony, secondhand
16:08
recollections, and a controversial
16:10
footprint cast. Is Borilla an
16:13
undisclosed predator, a misidentified
16:15
bear, a Kentucky variation of Dogman, or
16:19
simply a frightened identity imposing
16:21
upon unrelated events? No definitive
16:24
answer has ever emerged. But in the
16:27
isolated hollows and creek bottoms where
16:29
the reports began, the story has never
16:32
completely disappeared.
16:34
If even one witness encountered what was
16:37
described, then something large,
16:39
powerful, and unidentified may still be
16:41
moving through Kucky's back woods.
16:45
Now, Bella reports occupied uncertain
16:48
space between regional folklore and the
16:50
possibility of an unknown animal. The
16:52
the next account enters similar
16:54
territory, but with an important
16:56
difference. It involves two encounters
16:58
near the same lake, apparently occurring
17:00
during the same era. The witnesses did
17:03
not compare their experiences until
17:05
decades later. Yet, each described a
17:07
towering creature covered in white hair
17:09
and walking upright on two legs.
17:13
Now, the witness writes, "When I was
17:15
growing up, my family owned a cabin on a
17:18
lake in rural Martin County, Kentucky,
17:20
deep in the Appalachian region." "The
17:23
area had been more heavily developed in
17:25
recent years, but it was extremely
17:27
remote during my childhood. There were
17:30
fewer houses, fewer visitors, and vast
17:32
stretches of forest where a person could
17:34
feel completely isolated. Now, my family
17:37
sometimes held [clears throat] picnics
17:39
in a large field bordering a farmer's
17:42
property. Now, on one particular day, we
17:45
uh selected a spot near the crest of the
17:46
steep hill and at the bottom, the field
17:49
ended at the uh tree line of extensive
17:52
forest. Now, I was too young to remember
17:54
everything that followed, so much of
17:56
this account comes from what my parents
17:58
and sister have later told me. As we sat
18:01
eating, my father heard a series of
18:02
tremendous banging sounds coming from
18:04
the bottom of the hill.
18:06
The impacts seemed to originate where
18:08
the open field met the woods. They were
18:11
deliberate and repetitive, nothing like
18:13
branches falling or trees moving in the
18:15
wind. My father walked to the crest to
18:18
investigate, and at the tree line below,
18:21
he saw an enormous white creature
18:22
standing upright on two legs. Now,
18:25
according to him, the creature was
18:26
picking up large logs, lifting them
18:28
above its head, and striking or throwing
18:30
them against standing trees. Each impact
18:33
produced the noise we had been hearing.
18:37
My father called my mother over and she
18:39
observed it as well. Whatever they saw
18:41
disturbed enough that the picnic ended
18:43
immediately.
18:44
They packed their belongings and took us
18:46
back to the cabin. Now, my parents are
18:49
rational, level-headed people. They are
18:51
not drawn to sensational claims and
18:53
never tried to convince anyone the
18:55
monsters lived in the Kentucky woods.
18:58
They rarely discussed the incident and
19:00
perhaps because few people wanted to
19:02
announce that they may have even seen a
19:04
bingfoot
19:06
for years. It remained an uncomfortable
19:08
family memory.
19:10
Then decades later, we were celebrating
19:12
Christmas with my aunt and her family.
19:15
They had also spent considerable time at
19:17
a cabin on the same lake. And now we
19:20
while we traded old memories, my aunt
19:21
mentioned an unbelievable experience
19:23
that she had had shared only with my
19:26
uncle. She used to make uh wild
19:30
blackberry jam and would go out during
19:32
the season to collect berries.
19:35
On one trip, she noticed what appeared
19:37
to be a bear feeding on blackberries in
19:39
the distance. The sight frightened her,
19:41
but it retain remained far enough away
19:44
that she continued picking while
19:46
carefully watching it. But then the
19:48
animal stood up.
19:50
When it rose onto two legs, she saw that
19:52
its body was covered in white hair. It
19:55
did not immediately drop back down onto
19:57
all fours. Instead, it walked upright
19:59
into the forest and disappeared. And as
20:02
soon as she finished the story, my
20:03
family revealed what had occurred during
20:05
our picnic. Everyone was stunned. My
20:09
aunt had never discussed her experience
20:11
with my parents. Yet, she described the
20:13
same basic creature. something enormous
20:15
covered in white thick white hair and
20:17
cable ball walking on two legs.
20:21
The encounters also appeared to have
20:22
occurred during approximately the same
20:24
period in the late 1980s and in the same
20:27
general area surrounding the lake. Now I
20:30
later searched for similar reports and
20:31
discovered that other people had
20:32
allegedly seen unusual creatures in the
20:34
region during that era. Now one man was
20:37
so convinced that he had encountered
20:39
Bigfoot that he devoted much of his life
20:42
to finding it again. He eventually
20:44
claimed to have observed three creatures
20:46
together. Two were large and brown. The
20:48
third possessed a thick white coat and
20:50
appearance remarkably like the being my
20:52
parents and aunt described
20:53
independently.
20:56
I cannot confirm that man's story, and I
20:58
still do not know what to believe about
21:00
my own family's experience. The rational
21:03
part of my mind says it probably was not
21:04
a Bigfoot. A bear standing upright could
21:07
explain some of the sightings,
21:09
particularly at the distance. An animal
21:11
with unusual pale fur might appear even
21:15
stranger under poor viewing conditions,
21:18
but those explanations do not account
21:19
for everything. My father described the
21:23
animal standing upright while
21:24
manipulating heavy logs and striking
21:26
them against trees. My mother confirmed
21:28
what he saw and during a separate
21:30
encounter, my aunt watched what she
21:32
initially was a bear rise on the two
21:34
legs and walk upright into the forest.
21:37
None of them considered the behavior
21:39
normal for a bear. All three insisted
21:41
the creature was covered in thick white
21:43
hair. And my aunt knew nothing about my
21:45
parents experience until many years
21:46
later. Now, perhaps they all
21:50
misidentified an animal. Perhaps time
21:52
changed their memory in similar ways. Or
21:54
perhaps something genuinely unusual was
21:56
roaming the forest around Martin County
21:58
Lake during the late 1980s.
22:01
I cannot prove what they witnessed. I
22:04
know only what they remain convinced
22:06
that it was not a bear. And after
22:08
hearing their independence accounts, I
22:11
don't know how to explain it it away at
22:13
all.
22:16
Now, a large white animal walking
22:18
upright could represent a bear with an
22:20
uncommon coat, unidentified primate, or
22:23
a memory reshape through time. But pale
22:26
humanoid creatures appear elsewhere in
22:28
Kucky's testimony, and the next case is
22:30
considerably more violent.
22:34
It began with an unexplained death of a
22:36
hunting dog. It continued with something
22:38
striking a camper before dawn. It ended
22:41
in an open field where two men claimed a
22:43
9- ft white creature charged directly
22:46
toward them.
22:48
Now, in July 2004,
22:51
friends Dakota Cheeks and Ricky Joyce
22:54
encountered a remote section of Breen
22:56
Ridge County, Kentucky for a hunting
22:58
trip. Ricky's grandparents owned the
23:00
cabin at the foot of approximately a 100
23:02
acre uh acres of dense timber and a
23:05
property became their base camp.
23:09
The trip took a disturbing turn on the
23:11
first morning when one of Ricky's dogs
23:14
failed to return after being called the
23:15
men searched for. They discovered the
23:17
animal dead in the ditch. Now according
23:20
to Dakota, the head's dog appeared to
23:21
have been violently twisted. He knew of
23:24
no local predator he believed capable of
23:26
killing an animal in that manner. A
23:29
coyote seemed too small and he was
23:31
unaware of the bears in the media area.
23:34
The discovery was especially troubling
23:36
because Dakota and Rick had already
23:38
heard unexplained noises coming from the
23:40
top of the mountain. They described a
23:42
combination of growls and screams unlike
23:45
any animal that they could identify.
23:48
Suspecting a connection between the
23:50
sounds and the dog's death, they climbed
23:52
onto the four-wheelers and traveled
23:54
toward the hilltop, they searched the
23:57
far side of the property, an isolated
23:58
area without established trails. To make
24:01
their movements easier to track, they
24:03
circled an open field and left visible
24:05
tire marks, allowing them to identify
24:07
ground they had already covered.
24:10
They spent hours searching for
24:12
footprints, disturbed vegetation, and
24:14
some other indication of a large
24:16
predator, but they found nothing.
24:18
Eventually, men returned to the camper,
24:20
almost immediately heard movement
24:22
outside. Something appeared to be
24:24
walking around the campsite while
24:26
remaining beyond their view. At
24:28
approximately 5:00 the following
24:30
morning, the dogs began barking and then
24:32
ran into the darkness. Moments later,
24:35
something struck the camper.
24:37
The attack erupted with tremendous
24:39
force. Dakota described hearing pressure
24:41
against the side of the structure as the
24:43
material in the metal supports bent and
24:45
creaked.
24:47
The men could not see what was outside,
24:49
but they could hear it moving around
24:51
them and repeatedly slamming into the
24:53
shelter. Then, without warning, the
24:56
assault ended. Whatever had surrounded
24:58
the camper appeared to walk away,
25:00
leaving the campsite silent.
25:02
Now, once the men believed it was safe,
25:04
they armed themselves, mounted the
25:06
four-wheelers, and began another search.
25:08
They continued through the day and into
25:10
the evening.
25:12
Just after dusk, they crossed across the
25:14
cemetery and and entered an open field.
25:18
There, Ricky noticed something standing
25:20
in the distance. At first, he believe
25:22
was a tree. The figure was extremely
25:25
tall, almost motionless, and slightly
25:27
hunched. As they drew near, the men
25:30
realized the pale form was not part of
25:32
the landscape. It was alive. They
25:34
described an enormous white creature
25:36
with unusually long arms held away from
25:38
its body. Its hands appeared to end in
25:40
extended town-like claws. It stood
25:43
upright on two legs and was far too
25:45
large to be human.
25:48
Dakota and Ricky estimated that it
25:50
reached at least 9 ft in height. When
25:53
the creature noticed them, it released a
25:55
deep, gut-wrenching growl. Then it
25:58
charged. The men accelerated away in
26:00
their four-wheelers and fired their
26:02
weapons while racing toward Ricky
26:04
grandparents cabin.
26:07
They did not know where any shot struck
26:09
the creature. They did not see it again
26:10
that night. Now, Dakota later identified
26:13
the entity as a legendary sheep squatch,
26:16
a crypted most often associated with
26:18
Appalachia.
26:21
[clears throat]
26:21
Descriptions vary, but sheep squatch is
26:23
generally portrayed as a large pale
26:25
creature combining a powerful humanoid
26:28
or ape-like body with uh features
26:31
associated with sheeps or goats.
26:34
Some reports mention horns whose claws
26:36
are an overpowering odor. It's
26:39
frequently depicted as muscular,
26:40
aggressive, and capable of walking
26:42
upright. Now, for Ricky, the most
26:44
terrifying aspect of the incident was
26:46
not only the creature's size or
26:48
aggression. It was a complete absence of
26:50
a familiar frame of reference. In most
26:53
dangerous situation, a person
26:55
understands the threat and could decide
26:57
how to respond. In that field, the men
27:00
could not identify what was pursuing
27:02
them. The encounter permanently changed
27:05
Ricky's view of the unknown. Before it
27:07
happened, he placed no faith in myth,
27:09
wives, tales, or stories of mysterious
27:13
creatures. Afterwards, he began con
27:16
became convinced that things may exist
27:19
which human beings you have yet to
27:20
identify. Other people connected to
27:23
Breenidge County have reported unusual
27:25
animals. Resident Susan No
27:28
uh described seeing an upright sheeplike
27:31
uh creature while driving home one
27:34
evening and later producing a drawing
27:36
that she believed that was what she had
27:37
witnessed. Dakota's aunt and uncle Stacy
27:40
and Weman Morgan also participated in
27:43
the case gaining wider attention. Dakota
27:46
Ricky Susan Stacy and Weman were
27:48
interviewed for a dramatization on the
27:50
channel uh the travel channel series
27:53
Monsters and Mysteries in America. Now,
27:55
Dakota and Ricky continued searching for
27:58
evidence after the encounter. They never
28:00
established what killed the dog uh
28:02
struck the camper or charged them in the
28:04
field. To the two men, however, it was
28:07
not a campfire tale or distant
28:09
Appalachian legend. It was something
28:11
that they encountered face to face.
28:13
Something enormous, pale, and violently
28:15
territorial that emerged from the
28:17
Kentucky wilderness and then vanished
28:19
without an explanation.
28:23
Now, the first half of our journey has
28:25
centered on creatures that appear
28:26
physically. Beings that leave
28:28
footprints, handle logs, strike
28:31
buildings, injure animals, and move
28:32
through the forest like undiscovered
28:34
predators. But KY's unexplained
28:37
traditions do not consist only of
28:38
monsters.
28:40
Some encounters feel less like attacks
28:42
and more like brief glimpses into a
28:44
hidden world. They carry no growl,
28:46
pursuit, or obvious threat. Instead,
28:49
they leave the witness with a sense of
28:51
wonder.
28:52
and the unsettling possibility that
28:54
folklore may sometimes step out of the
28:55
old stories and into the ordinary
28:57
daylight. Our next witness believes a
29:00
large insect was hovering beside her in
29:02
a garden. When she finally turned to
29:04
look, she claimed to see a tiny man with
29:07
pointed ears and wings.
29:11
The witness writes, "Many years ago, I
29:13
was dating a man who shared my
29:14
enthusiasm for hiking and primitive
29:16
camping. We he wanted me to visit two
29:19
close friends who lived in Kentucky on
29:21
approximately 150 acres near Daniel
29:24
Boone National Forest.
29:26
I will call the couple Dan and Gina.
29:30
They lived in an off-grid cabin that Dan
29:32
had constructed himself. Around it was a
29:35
cleared homestead home site where um
29:38
Gina grew fruit and vegetables.
29:41
A transparent creek flowed from a cave
29:43
further up on the property, bordering
29:45
and dividing sections of the land. The
29:48
water appeared so clean that it could be
29:50
consumed directly from the stream. Now,
29:53
after the long drive, we arrived and
29:55
Gina immediately took me through the
29:56
gardens.
29:58
The property was lush and alive. Bees,
30:00
butterflies, and hummingbirds moving
30:01
among the plants. An entire the entire
30:05
place see felt protected, almost sacred.
30:07
Dan and Gina seemed less like owners
30:09
than caretakers entrusted with the land.
30:12
And as Gina showed me crops growing near
30:14
the tree line, something began darting
30:17
through my peripheral vision on the
30:18
right.
30:21
I assumed [clears throat] it was an
30:22
unusually large insect. It repeatedly
30:24
reproached and withdrew. [snorts] And
30:26
although bees do not normally fright me,
30:28
it persistence made me uncomfortable.
30:31
Finally, I turned my head and looked
30:33
directly at it. hovering near my
30:35
shoulder. It was a tiny man. He had inky
30:38
black hair, pointed ears, and clothing
30:41
that appeared to be made from deep green
30:43
leaves.
30:45
His wings moved with extraordinary speed
30:47
and produced a sound resembling the
30:49
wings of a hummingbird. I blinked
30:52
several times, certain that exhaustion
30:53
from the drive had affected my vision.
30:56
The small creatur The small figure
30:58
responded by raising its hands beside
31:00
its ears, wiggling its fingers, and
31:02
blowing a raspberry at me. Then he flew
31:05
away.
31:07
I turned toward Gina, but I had only
31:09
just met her and was afraid that she'd
31:11
think I was irrational.
31:14
She saw the expression on my face and
31:15
began to laugh softly.
31:18
And then she asked in her gentle
31:20
Kentucky accent whether I had seen one
31:23
of their fairies.
31:26
She says, uh, "They must have lightened
31:28
me and predicted that I would see fairy
31:30
lights that night and rings in the grass
31:32
the following morning."
31:35
I remained stunned. I had experienced
31:37
unusual things before, but I never seen
31:40
anything, and I could identify as a
31:42
fairy, gnome, or any other magical
31:44
being. That night, we sat on the porch
31:47
surrounded by flower covered trelluses
31:49
and listened to the forest. Now, after a
31:51
while, Gina tapped my arm and pointed
31:53
toward the far edges of the cleared
31:54
yards.
31:56
cleared yard. Tiny lights glowed in the
31:59
grass. They did not behave like
32:01
fireflies. Each maintained a steady
32:04
illumination as it rose in into the air
32:06
and then descended. Up and down they
32:08
moved again and again for approximately
32:10
an hour. We watched without speaking.
32:13
The property felt sealed inside a
32:15
whirlwind's own. My boyfriend and I
32:18
slept outside in a tent. I woke early
32:21
before anyone else walked barefoot
32:22
across the dew covered grass. There I
32:25
discovered three perfect circles where
32:27
the vegetation had been pressed flat.
32:30
The rest of the visit carried the same
32:32
atmosphere. We hiked to the the cave
32:34
from which the creek emerged and
32:35
ventured toward the deeper interior.
32:38
Marks and figures covered the portions
32:40
of the stone. Dan believed that there
32:42
were petrographs left by indigenous
32:44
people long ago.
32:46
He told us that drumming and chanting
32:48
could sometimes be heard inside the cave
32:50
after dark.
32:53
We did not return at night and again
32:55
felt disrespectful almost like
32:57
trespassing into a place that did not
32:59
belong to us.
33:01
Now while inside I had sensed unseen
33:03
attention as though hundreds of eyes
33:05
were watching. Many years later I still
33:08
think about Dan and Gina. I wonder
33:11
whether they remain on the land tending
33:13
the gardens, guarding the cave, and
33:16
protecting whatever hidden beings may
33:19
share the property with them.
33:23
Now, skeptical interpretation offers
33:25
many possibilities. The tiny figure may
33:27
have been an insect transferred by
33:29
fatigue and expectation. The lights
33:32
could have been some from some insects
33:34
or another natural source. The circles
33:36
may have resulted from wildlife,
33:37
weather, ordinary patterns in the grass.
33:40
Yet the witness remembers the events not
33:43
as separate curiosities, but as parts of
33:46
one coherent experience, a landscape in
33:50
which the boundary between folklore and
33:52
reality briefly seem permeable.
33:56
That boundary now darkens again. On a
33:59
country road in western Kentucky, two
34:01
men in the same vehicle saw a towering
34:03
figure beside the payment. Neither spoke
34:06
until they had passed it. Later, when
34:08
they separated and asked to draw what
34:10
they had seen, both produced the same
34:12
disturbing details. A black central
34:15
body, red eyes, and enormous wings
34:19
fading from white to yellow and to red.
34:24
Now, the witness identified as Drew
34:27
writes, "Roughly 10 years ago, before I
34:30
recorded this account, my former husband
34:32
and I were visiting friends in Western
34:34
Kentucky.
34:36
That evening, my ex-husband Josh and our
34:38
friends husband Zach left to rent movies
34:41
from a local video store.
34:44
[clears throat] The region is composed
34:45
of small towns separated by farmland,
34:47
woods, and long country roads. Main
34:49
routes generally have street lights, but
34:51
the back roads can be completely dark.
34:54
Zach chose one of those roads because he
34:56
wanted to show Josh a house that he had
34:58
been helping to build. I knew the road
35:01
the route well extended for
35:02
approximately 20 miles. My grandparents
35:04
lived nearby and one of my childhood
35:06
friends had lived directly along it. I
35:09
spent time in those woods while growing
35:11
up and experienced several things I
35:13
considered strange. The area was not
35:16
known as haunted and I eventually
35:17
attributed those childhood memories to
35:19
an impressionable imagination.
35:21
Now, as Zach and Josh approached the
35:24
curved section of the road, they saw an
35:26
enormous figure standing just beyond the
35:28
pavement.
35:30
Josh estimated was approximately 7 foot
35:32
tall because the men were seated low
35:35
inside a Dodge Neon. He later admitted
35:37
that the perspective may have been
35:39
distorted by the apparent height. Even
35:41
so, both agreed that the figure towered
35:44
over the vehicle.
35:45
Now, neither man said a word until they
35:48
had passed it. Another vehicle
35:49
approached from the opposite direction,
35:51
and as the driver reached the same
35:52
location, the vehicle's brake lights
35:54
suddenly illuminated. Josh and believe
35:57
Josh and Zach believe the driver may
35:58
have reacted to whatever stood beside
36:01
the road. Zach turned around at the
36:04
first available opportunity. Only then
36:06
did the two men begin asking each other
36:08
what they had seen. They returned to the
36:11
curb, but the figure had disappeared.
36:14
There were no street lights, so they
36:16
stopped and searched the roadside with
36:18
flashlights. They found nothing and saw
36:20
no indication of where it had gone. When
36:24
they arrived back at the house, each
36:26
both men were unusually quiet and
36:28
visibly shaken. Each insisted that the
36:31
other should explain what had happened.
36:34
They eventually described encountering
36:35
something beside the road, but we did
36:38
immediately asked for the physical
36:40
details. My friend and I separated them
36:43
and asked each man to draw a figure
36:45
independently.
36:47
We wanted to know whether the
36:48
descriptions would match without either
36:50
witness influencing each other.
36:53
The drawings were remarkably similar.
36:55
One man drew only the upper part of the
36:58
entity while the other sketched the
36:59
complete figure. Both depicted a central
37:02
black central body with red eyes. Josh
37:05
said it seemed to have no visible feet
37:07
and may have been floating above the
37:09
ground. Zach could not remember where
37:11
the it looked towards its feet. His
37:14
attention was captured by the enormous
37:16
wings. Both witnesses illustrated the
37:19
same unusual colorations. wings were
37:22
white near the top, faded into yellow,
37:24
and then red.
37:26
Their reported movement was stranger
37:29
still. They didn't they did not flap
37:32
vertically at the wings of the bird.
37:33
Instead, they folded inward toward the
37:36
center of the body and then extended
37:37
outward in a repeated motion.
37:40
Josh and I discussed the counter for
37:42
years. He never changed its essential
37:44
details. Sometime later, Zach suffered a
37:48
traumatic brain injury in a motorcycle
37:50
accident. He had been riding alone. A
37:52
witness reportedly said the vehicle left
37:54
the road as though Zach had suddenly
37:55
reacted to something crossing in front
37:57
of him. Because of the severity of his
38:00
injuries, Zach could not communicate
38:02
what happened immediately before the
38:04
crash. There's no evidence connecting
38:06
the accident with the wing figure, and
38:08
the two events may be completely
38:10
unrelated. Still, I sometimes wonder
38:12
whether Zach saw the creature again or
38:15
whether its first appearance represented
38:17
a warning that none of us understood.
38:20
Whatever the men encountered, it
38:21
affected them deeply. Both people
38:24
traveled on a familiar road
38:25
independently, describing the same
38:27
towering redeyed figure with strange
38:29
colored wings. A passing motorist may
38:32
have reacted to it as well. But when
38:34
Josh and Zach returned with a
38:36
flashlight, the roadside was empty. The
38:39
wing figure has vanished into the
38:41
western Kentucky darkness.
38:44
Now that encount
38:46
inevently eventually
38:51
evokes comparisons with Moth Man and
38:53
other wing humanoid traditions, but the
38:57
unusual coloration and inward movement
38:59
of the wings distinguish it from most
39:01
familiar descriptions.
39:03
It also introduces an important theme
39:05
found in many unexplained encounters.
39:07
The effect does not end when the entity
39:10
disappears.
39:11
Witnesses may become afraid of roads
39:13
they once enjoyed, woods they once
39:16
explored, and even the darkness just
39:18
beyond their own windows. For the next
39:21
witness, that fear began inside an
39:24
abandoned building. It later followed
39:26
him into a neighborhood farm and he
39:28
believes into a narrow strip of trees
39:30
behind his home.
39:33
The witness identified as sea writes, "I
39:37
have never personally seen the Moth Man,
39:39
but two encounters with human-like
39:41
creatures convinced me that such beings
39:43
may exist. The first occurred eight or
39:45
nine years ago when several friends and
39:47
I explored abandoned properties around
39:49
northern Kentucky. One night, we made a
39:52
third visit to an old farmhouse south of
39:54
Cincinnati. A fallen tree had split the
39:57
house down the middle and continued
39:58
across the property toward a cluster of
40:00
barns and storage buildings.
40:02
Inside the final outbuilding, we found a
40:05
large hole opening into an attic. Almost
40:08
immediately, something began moving
40:10
above us. At first, it sounded like
40:12
small an animal. Then the scurrying
40:14
stopped.
40:16
We discussed which one of us should look
40:18
through the opening, and as soon as we
40:20
did, the movement began again, louder
40:22
and more frantic than before. One friend
40:25
approached the hole and said he could
40:27
see animallike eyes staring back at him.
40:29
We panicked and ran. We did not capture
40:32
the creature on camera, but I saw it
40:34
silhouette perched on a fallen tree only
40:36
a few feet away. Its form appeared
40:39
disturbingly human. That glimpse changed
40:42
how I live. I once enjoyed driving on
40:45
dark country roads, and now I avoid
40:47
them. People sometimes ask why I look
40:49
toward the ground when I walk. The truth
40:51
is, I'm terrified of what I might see if
40:53
I look up. The second encounter happened
40:56
at a friend's home in my own
40:57
neighborhood.
40:59
Across a small farm belonging to his
41:01
neighbor, he noticed humanlike figures
41:03
standing along the crest of a hill.
41:07
It stared directly at us. Then it turned
41:10
and walked away upright on two legs, and
41:13
as it moved, it continued looking back
41:15
onto until the dis it disappeared over
41:18
the ridge. More recently, I have heard
41:21
something in the narrow strip of woods
41:23
behind my house. At times, it sounds as
41:26
if an animal is being eaten. Whatever is
41:28
producing the noise does not resemble a
41:30
coyote. I know what co coyotes sound
41:33
like and have compared the noise with
41:35
recordings. I I could not identify it.
41:38
The distances involved disturbed me
41:41
most.
41:42
The silhouette in the tree may have been
41:44
no more than 6 ft away. The figure on
41:47
the ridge was approximately 60 ft from
41:49
us. Whatever is moving behind my house
41:51
could only be could be only 20 ft away.
41:55
The next time I hear it, I intend to
41:57
investigate. If you do not hear from me
41:59
again, assume the worst.
42:03
Well, we hope the witness resists the
42:05
urge to enter those woods alone.
42:07
Curiosity is understandable, but
42:09
darkness, uneven terrain, frightened
42:12
wildlife, and unknown people are real
42:14
dangers regardless of what causes the
42:16
sounds. Now, the final account leaves
42:19
familiar ground almost completely. He
42:21
began on a farm near Fallmouth in
42:23
November 1991. A worker entered the
42:26
woods expecting to confront hunters who
42:28
had trespassed onto his property.
42:30
Instead, he reported a small gray bean,
42:33
a small gray being, a reptilian
42:36
guardian, a towering Bigfootlike
42:39
creature, telepathic communication, an
42:42
illuminated doorway, and a transition
42:45
from afternoon to night that seemed to
42:47
happen in an instant.
42:52
Now, the witness identified as M writes
42:54
me, "This happened in November 1991 on
42:58
a60 acre farm near Fulmouth, Kentucky.
43:02
It was early afternoon and I was eating
43:04
lunch with a friend when someone
43:05
reported that hunters had entered the
43:07
property without permission. Now,
43:10
because I worked on the farm, I finished
43:12
eating, retrieved my gun, and followed
43:13
the fence line toward the woods. I
43:15
intended to approach the trespassers
43:17
quietly and confront them before they
43:19
could leave. I had been searching for
43:22
approximately 45 minutes to an hour when
43:24
something stepped from behind a tree.
43:27
Believing I had found one of the
43:28
hunters, I aimed my gun and shouted,
43:30
"Friend or foe." The figure standing in
43:33
front of me did not appear human. It was
43:36
approximately three and a half ft tall
43:38
and gray in color. It stood frozen,
43:40
pointing my weapon and trying to
43:42
understand what I was seeing. Then it
43:45
felt to communicate directly in my mind.
43:48
No words were spoken aloud, but I
43:49
somehow understood that the being was
43:51
young, female, and frightened.
43:54
I also received the impression that she
43:56
intended to run toward a small null
43:58
nearby. A moment later, she did exactly
44:01
that. The being turned and ran up the
44:05
hill. I followed. When I reached the
44:07
area, there was a flash of light and
44:09
what appeared to be a doorway
44:10
materialized in front of me. The opening
44:13
was approximately 4t wide and 8 ft tall.
44:16
Brilliant light filled its interior.
44:18
Within it, I could see the small being I
44:20
had followed. Her appearance now seemed
44:23
different, as though she were wearing a
44:24
tight-fitting black suit. Then I
44:28
detected rapid movement from the corner
44:29
of my left eye. Something was running
44:32
toward me. I turned and found myself
44:34
facing a second entity, a lizard-like
44:37
humanoid standing between 5 to 6 feet
44:39
tall. It carried a long staff in one
44:42
hand. Its body appeared reptilian, but
44:44
the face looked more like that of an
44:46
insect. Its eyes were blue. Again,
44:50
information seemed to enter enter my
44:52
thoughts without audible speech. I felt
44:55
that this entity was either a young
44:57
female's father or some kind of
44:59
guardian. It suddenly approached me and
45:02
I believe it considered me a threat.
45:04
Before I could respond, a third creature
45:06
appeared on my right. This being stood 7
45:09
to 8 foot tall and was covered in brown
45:11
hair. It resembled common descriptions
45:13
of Bigfoot.
45:15
It had I had not heard a reproach. It
45:18
seemed to materialize beside us. The
45:20
hairy creature [clears throat] did not
45:21
move its mouth, but it heard a clear
45:23
message in my mind. No, don't hurt him.
45:27
The reptilian entity stared directly at
45:29
me. As it did, its blue eyes changed to
45:32
a brilliant gold yellow.
45:35
That was when I ran. I remember fleeing,
45:38
but what happened next is impossible for
45:40
me to explain. In an instant, I found
45:42
myself standing alone in the woods. It
45:45
was no longer afternoon. Night had
45:47
fallen. I remained there in shock,
45:50
trying to understand how much time had
45:52
passed. The entities, the illuminated
45:54
doorway, and the strange light had
45:56
disappeared. The forest was silent.
45:59
Eventually, I returned to the farmhouse.
46:01
Another farm hand told me that the
46:03
people had been searching for it because
46:05
they believed I was lost.
46:07
I offer no explanation told no one about
46:11
the encounter. More than three decades
46:14
have passed. I have never seen the small
46:18
gray being, the reptilian guarding the
46:19
towering hairy creature or the doorway
46:21
of light. I cannot explain what happened
46:24
or account for what the hours had
46:26
apparently disappeared.
46:28
I know only that I entered those woods
46:31
expecting to confront trespassing
46:32
hunters and instead encountered
46:35
something that challenged everything I
46:37
believed possible.
46:40
So we had eight reports, eight different
46:42
confrontations from the unknown. Some
46:44
may have natural explanations. Kentucky
46:46
is home to dense forest, deep caves,
46:48
isolated farms, and wildlife capable of
46:51
startling even experienced outdoorsmen.
46:55
Darkness alters distance. Fear magnifies
46:58
size. Memory fills gaps. And stories can
47:01
acquire new details as they pass from
47:04
one generation to the next. But natural
47:07
explanations must still account for the
47:09
specific testimony. [clears throat]
47:12
A skeptical grandfather claimed a canine
47:14
humanoid returned repeatedly to his
47:16
porch. A researcher preserved a
47:19
footprint he believed belonged to no
47:20
known bear or wolf.
47:23
Three relatives independently described
47:25
a white-haired creature near the same
47:27
Martin County Lake. Two hunters reported
47:29
a 9- foot entity after something
47:32
attacked their camp.
47:34
A visitor to an isolated homestead
47:36
claims she watched a tiny winged man
47:39
hover beside her. Two men produced
47:41
similar drawings of redeyed roadside
47:44
figure. Another witness described
47:46
humanoids appearing first in an
47:47
abandoned building and later near the
47:49
neighborhood. and a farm worker claimed
47:51
that a simple search for trespassers
47:53
ended with te telepathy, multiple
47:56
entities, and a doorway of light in
47:58
missing time. These accounts do not all
48:01
describe the same kind of phenomena.
48:03
Some suggest undiscovered animals.
48:05
Others resemble traditional spirits,
48:08
spirits, fairies, extraterrestrials,
48:10
crypts or being for which our familiar
48:12
categories may not be adequate.
48:16
Perhaps that variety is the most
48:18
important part of the mystery. Kentucky
48:20
Wilderness in these stories is not
48:22
merely a place where unknown creatures
48:24
hide. Is a boundary landscape where
48:27
witnesses believe the ordinary world
48:29
briefly opened into something else.
48:33
Whether that opening exists in the
48:34
forest, in human perception, or
48:36
somewhere between the two remains
48:38
unanswered.
48:40
Folklore is not evidenced by itself.
48:43
Neither is sincerity. Honest people can
48:46
be mistaken and extraordinary stories
48:48
require more than conviction before they
48:50
can become established facts. Yet
48:52
folklore also preserves experience.
48:55
Beneath the embellishment, uncertainty
48:58
and fear, there may remain that one
49:00
Kentucky witness called other than 10%
49:04
the small portion of a story that
49:06
refuses to disappear and keeps us
49:08
returning to the mystery. So what walks
49:11
through the hollows after dark? What
49:13
watches from the edge ridge lines,
49:15
circles above the back roads, or moves
49:18
behind the trees where the headlights
49:19
cannot reach him? Are these encounters
49:22
misidentifications
49:24
uh shaped by Kucky's rich storytelling
49:26
traditions?
49:28
Are rare animals responsible for some
49:30
reports? Are witnesses experiencing
49:32
psychological or or environmental um
49:35
effects we do not yet understand? are
49:38
hidden among the legends are a few
49:41
accounts exactly what the witnesses say
49:43
they are.
49:45
For now, the answer remains the answers
49:48
remain somewhere beyond the porch light
49:50
across the creek inside the tree line
49:54
and deep within the unexplained Kentucky
49:56
night.

50:43
Q&A. Please type your questions in all
50:46
caps, please.
50:50
Michelle, do you think the sheep squatch
50:52
ate the dog? Do you know if the dog came
50:55
back? I don't know. They never say
50:57
anything about the dog coming back. And
50:59
honestly, I've heard a lot of sheep
51:00
squatch stories,
51:02
particularly in um
51:05
southwest
51:08
Virginia into Tennessee and over into
51:11
Kentucky. So, um that seems to be the
51:14
area where they're at. Uh it's all in
51:16
Appalachia, but I don't know if he ate
51:18
the dog or not. I never heard a thing
51:20
about that. I can't answer that
51:22
confidently.
51:27
Michelle, do you think the FA showed
51:28
themselves as a way of showing gratitude
51:30
for them taking care of their land?
51:33
[sighs and gasps]
51:34
Maybe. Uh, but I I guess they were just
51:38
living the way they live and, you know,
51:40
not expecting much. But then again, you
51:43
know, if they show off and that's the
51:45
way they show their appreciation. You
51:47
know, I've heard a lot of fairy stories
51:50
and a lot of wing young wing little wing
51:53
being stories over the years and um
51:57
honestly I I'm not really surprised by
51:59
it. I have pe people that have described
52:03
fairies in different ways, but it always
52:05
turns out to be very similar in fact and
52:08
uh they are very adamant about what they
52:11
saw and they experienced
52:16
a lot of bright when something like a
52:18
dog man comes right up to a home instead
52:19
of staying in the woods do you think
52:21
it's trying to get inside or trying to
52:22
make sure the people inside know it's
52:24
there?
52:26
I probably both. Um, I I think from the
52:29
accounts I have heard even locally that
52:32
they want people to know that they have
52:35
their own territory and that, you know,
52:37
when they show up once a while or seen
52:39
once in a while that maybe them uh
52:44
giving that type of information. I don't
52:46
think they really want to cause a ruckus
52:48
or anything. And if they do it, they
52:51
they must have a reason for it. But
52:54
until now, I don't know of anything that
52:57
could justify them attacking anyone.
53:00
[sighs]
53:00
Some people have suggested that they
53:03
just want to mark their territory.
53:07
And just like the one account I had in
53:09
Maryland where the uh that upright
53:13
canine busted into the police officer's
53:15
home, uh I think that was a territorial
53:18
thing because he lived along a um
53:22
a uh restricted area for wildlife. So I
53:25
think that may have been what happened.
53:30
All are bright. When different members
53:32
of the same family have encounters, do
53:34
you ever wonder whether the creatures
53:35
returning to the people rather than just
53:37
location? Could be. Yeah. I mean, if
53:40
they're they're used to certain people
53:41
being around uh for whatever reason, uh
53:45
if it's something that's been a
53:46
generational thing or they're just used
53:49
to these humans and if they're treated
53:51
well, sure, they may come back for that.
53:57
Michelle, do you think so many of these
53:59
creatures are described as smelling like
54:01
trash, death, and even musty earth? What
54:03
do you think that is? Well, they're
54:05
animals. They don't take a bath for the
54:07
most part. And you know, they're out in
54:09
the woods and everything. And dirt
54:11
accumulates, sweat and grime
54:13
accumulates.
54:15
Um,
54:17
you know, when I used to go bear
54:20
hunting, I used to go deer hunting. Deer
54:22
usually keep pretty clean. bear not so
54:24
much though. So, uh, you know, it could
54:28
be just, you know, that they just don't
54:30
groom that well, I guess. [laughter]
54:36
Dagnama, do you believe that many
54:37
cryptids can move in and out of our
54:39
dimension without requiring portals? I
54:41
think most of them do. I think most
54:42
cryptids are supernatural beings. I
54:45
mean, I'll probably say that till the
54:47
day I die. I um
54:50
I I've had encounter reports sent to me
54:54
for years that suggested that these
54:56
things are not indigenous beings. Sure.
54:59
I again I do believe there are some
55:01
Bigfoot that live in u in areas where
55:05
they are indigenous and groups, family
55:07
groups and such. But for the most part,
55:09
I think they and others [snorts] are uh
55:13
[sighs] are time not necessarily time
55:16
travelers, but dimensional travelers
55:18
through gateways or portals of some
55:19
type. uh until I'm proven otherwise,
55:23
that's what I'm going to believe because
55:25
that's just the only thing at this point
55:27
now makes sense to me.
55:32
Jose Sanchez, are most crypted usually
55:35
reported to have the same stenchy smells
55:36
or does one outweigh the other in that
55:38
category? Bigfoot may be a prime
55:40
candidate. So, I've heard I I've heard
55:42
it from all types. I've heard people
55:44
have had Bigfoot encounters where they
55:46
didn't smell a thing. Um,
55:49
you know, early on that seemed to be the
55:52
trend
55:53
and everybody seemed to be describing
55:56
these these smelly hairy giants.
55:59
But, uh, I've heard it for several types
56:03
of crypts, even moth man. We've had that
56:05
ammonia smell pop up with the moth man
56:07
encounters, especially in in in around
56:09
Chicago.
56:11
that ammonia smell that seems to
56:13
resonate when um when the human goes to
56:17
an area where this thing had been at.
56:20
So, um I think they all have some type
56:23
of signature
56:26
sent to them. Maybe not as good as
56:28
others, but I think they all possess it.
56:35
Lala Bright, how rare or white are very
56:38
pale Bigfoot reports? Have you ever
56:40
found any pattern where those particular
56:42
sightings happen?
56:44
Why are they there? Different colored
56:47
big feet, Bigfoot. Okay. Um there are
56:51
certain areas in Pennsylvania where
56:52
there have been multiple seen. Alagany
56:55
State Forest,
56:57
um
56:59
the area around uh Portage,
57:03
Pennsylvania, there have been several
57:05
around a reservoir up in that area.
57:09
uh in this area in in this in state of
57:11
Pennsylvania. That's the only two areas
57:13
I know where there have been multiple
57:14
sightings of white beings. I've heard of
57:16
several down in in the Ozarks.
57:19
Um even the the sheep squatch thing
57:23
where people have said that they are
57:26
they are white in color. Look, any any
57:30
animal that is white or is pale, unless
57:34
they're ferocious, they don't stand a
57:36
good chance of reading adult reaching
57:38
adulthood because they're they're very
57:40
easily seen. And if they don't have a
57:42
way of defending themselves, a lot of
57:44
them aren't going to make it. So any
57:47
type of albano type of creature or
57:50
that's normally a dark color or
57:54
has a lighter color to it, you know,
57:57
they're going to be threatened because
57:59
they're easy prey. They're easy to be
58:01
found. So um but there are two areas I
58:04
know in Pennsylvania and I'm I imagine
58:06
and there are many others in other
58:08
states as well.
58:13
Jose Sanchez, extraterrestrials often
58:15
been said to smell like sulfur, but
58:17
cryptids have also been maybe they
58:21
related pale curlers. I don't know. I
58:24
you know that sulfur smell could be from
58:26
a lot of different things. It could be
58:28
natural or something else. [sighs] Uh
58:32
occasionally I will hear about human
58:36
other humanoids having a sulfur smell.
58:39
uh crips more like that sulfur smell
58:42
that comes with the garbage the garbage
58:44
smell you know uh decomposing the sulfur
58:50
smell may uh uh show up or even if it's
58:54
going through garbage or other
58:57
decomposing
58:59
uh items um that sulfur smell does show
59:04
up a lot of different things.
59:09
Demon Tooth, I'm surprised you didn't
59:12
mention the Pope Lick Monster. Well,
59:15
you know, I'll be doing I'll be doing
59:17
others. I've talked about the Pope Lick
59:19
Monster many, many times before in other
59:22
presentations. So, I'm just picking
59:25
reports from my uh from my archive that
59:28
I believe are interesting. And the pope
59:30
lick monster has been talked about for
59:34
many, many decades. So, um, might be in
59:37
another one down the road.
59:41
Michelle, do you think mountain areas
59:43
hold so many of the crypted beings? Um,
59:47
it could, but I I guess it depends on
59:49
the area itself.
59:51
Um, the Appalachians are pretty unique
59:54
because they're very thick. They have a
59:56
lot of really steep ridges.
59:59
a lot of places that
1:00:02
humans and other predators won't even go
1:00:05
into.
1:00:06
Um,
1:00:10
so it's not surprising that there are a
1:00:12
lot of sightings along the Appalachian
1:00:14
Trail in particular because it's it it's
1:00:16
a designated trail and they're used to
1:00:19
humans coming through there. So, you
1:00:21
know, if if a creature is in there, a
1:00:24
Bigfoot may see somebody and they may
1:00:25
accidentally be seen by a human. Um, I
1:00:30
think most mountains are are are pretty
1:00:32
protected for unknown animals or for any
1:00:36
animal for that matter. Uh, the Sierras
1:00:39
very high, very rugged.
1:00:43
A lot of a lot of creatures won't go
1:00:45
into that terrain.
1:00:47
So, um, yeah, I mean, taking those two
1:00:49
examples, yeah, they're definitely
1:00:52
advantages to being in that area.
1:00:58
Winnie Nice
1:01:00
could it be a curse in could it be a
1:01:02
curse individuals Bible talking about
1:01:05
King Nebuchadnezzar
1:01:06
Islam talks about it many religions
1:01:09
speak about it. Yeah. I mean if you want
1:01:11
to go deep into that and and use as part
1:01:14
of the belief your belief system or even
1:01:18
the possible stories and tales and and
1:01:23
legends of older civilizations. Yeah, I
1:01:26
I guess it could be. But, you know, I I
1:01:30
try to be a little more practical,
1:01:32
although in some cases it just doesn't
1:01:34
come out that way because I do have
1:01:36
opinions about a lot of these things.
1:01:38
Um,
1:01:40
but it could be. I mean, it very well
1:01:42
could be. You know, we don't know
1:01:43
everything yet. We definitely don't know
1:01:45
everything. I mean, there's
1:01:48
I I'm quite sure we're going to learn
1:01:50
eventually some very interesting facts
1:01:53
about cryptids, extraterrestrials, and
1:01:55
other beings that we just don't
1:01:57
understand. Might take a while, but I I
1:02:01
think we're going to we're going to
1:02:02
learn something eventually.
1:02:06
Can any reports of ghost sightings from
1:02:08
the 1700 1800s of Kentucky pioneers
1:02:11
indigenous tribes? Yeah, I've got a few.
1:02:13
Um, I had to bid those out for a
1:02:15
specific show. Uh, there's a lot of
1:02:18
historical stuff that comes out of those
1:02:20
uh out of those eastern hills of
1:02:22
Kentucky and into the plains area. So,
1:02:25
um, yeah, we uh we'll have to have to
1:02:28
dig those out at some point.
1:02:33
Jose Sanchez, a crypt ever been reported
1:02:35
to have been somehow involved with
1:02:37
technology or are there more primitive
1:02:40
in that sense? Difficult question.
1:02:42
Sorry.
1:02:43
I don't know. I, you know, there's a lot
1:02:45
of uh conjecture about cryptids and
1:02:48
extraterrestrials or [sighs]
1:02:52
um other beings that may not be of our
1:02:58
earth plane.
1:03:00
Um
1:03:03
it to this point there's a lot of rumor
1:03:05
but you know there's a lot there's a lot
1:03:07
of things that pop up once in a while
1:03:09
where people will recognize some type of
1:03:12
um association with these creatures and
1:03:15
with these entities. Um, I I do believe
1:03:19
that there is an extraterrestrial,
1:03:23
ultraterrestrial,
1:03:25
nontrestrial
1:03:27
connection between a lot us between us
1:03:30
cryptids and these beings.
1:03:33
there may may be a very fine line, but
1:03:37
um I think um I think over the years and
1:03:41
some of the stuff that has popped up in
1:03:44
our
1:03:46
for our perusal, uh I think there tends
1:03:49
to be some things that may actually
1:03:51
be unexplained that, you know, may add a
1:03:54
connection to that. But it's again, it's
1:03:57
something that we just got to keep
1:03:58
documenting and and keeping in our
1:04:01
research and continue to look at and try
1:04:04
if we get new counts, try to see if we
1:04:06
can make an association with it.
1:04:11
Jose Sanchez, any recent giant man
1:04:15
sightings like is that giant? Haven't
1:04:18
heard of it in a long time. Um
1:04:22
I I don't know. I mean, I haven't heard
1:04:23
of anything. if your giants was what
1:04:25
you're talking about. I haven't heard
1:04:27
any other than, you know, people seeing
1:04:30
things on mountains and stuff and
1:04:32
thinking they're giants. And,
1:04:37
you know, I I don't really talk about
1:04:38
giants in particular, but occasionally
1:04:42
something will pop up that'll seem a bit
1:04:44
interesting and has some unexplained
1:04:46
reason as to why people saw it and how
1:04:48
it reacted and such. So, that'll bring
1:04:51
that up. But, uh, who knows? I don't
1:04:53
know a whole lot about the giant
1:04:56
tails, but you know there occasion one
1:04:59
will come my way.
1:05:05
Can squatch. Will occas in Kentucky.
1:05:07
Were there any more reports of
1:05:09
reptilians than the one mentioned
1:05:10
tonight? That's all I have for now. Uh,
1:05:13
I probably have some back in the
1:05:15
archives.
1:05:16
U, but
1:05:20
as far as reptilians in Kentucky, I
1:05:24
I don't really hear a lot about that.
1:05:28
um other areas in particular, more so
1:05:31
down further south into uh the Ozarks,
1:05:36
Arkansas,
1:05:38
uh especially Missouri,
1:05:42
not so much in Kentucky.
1:05:46
Jose Sanchez, have you heard of any
1:05:48
recent Goatman sightings lately? It's
1:05:50
been a while. Yeah, I haven't heard of
1:05:52
anything other than what I've written
1:05:54
about. Um, those are older cases and
1:05:57
there has not been anything new that
1:05:59
really popped up with any decent
1:06:02
testimony that you know will that we can
1:06:07
identify as a goatman. I think a lot of
1:06:08
these things bleed into each other. I
1:06:10
mean, could it be something dog man,
1:06:14
Bigfoot, a human? I don't know. You
1:06:17
know, I it just I guess depends where
1:06:19
they they saw it at and if there's any
1:06:23
uh legend or any lore about something
1:06:26
like that being there or people have
1:06:28
seen it and reported it. Got to take a
1:06:30
lot of things in consideration. Um but
1:06:34
no, I haven't I haven't heard much at
1:06:36
all if anything recently.
1:06:43
Jose Sanchez, I know this is different,
1:06:45
but have shadow people ever been
1:06:46
actually been heard.
1:06:49
[clears throat]
1:06:51
I had one
1:06:53
encounter that I didn't work on it of
1:06:59
one of the family members in this home
1:07:01
that had shadow beings would constantly
1:07:04
hear chattering
1:07:06
like uh people talking.
1:07:09
But I I never ass even from what I read
1:07:12
and looked at, I never associated that
1:07:14
with the uh with the shadow beings. I I
1:07:16
think it was a separate haunting in the
1:07:18
air in in the location.
1:07:20
Um they're very silent. They don't say
1:07:24
or make much noise at all. They really
1:07:26
don't. Um and if you have
1:07:29
[clears throat] heard that and you have
1:07:30
an account, feel free to send it to me.
1:07:36
Sir Wolf, how long can you do a
1:07:37
reptilonian mantage show? Yeah, I have
1:07:41
in the past. I'll do it again.
1:07:48
Okay, folks. Well, this went a long way
1:07:50
tonight. So, again, I want to thank you
1:07:52
for showing up
1:07:55
and uh for joining me this evening. You
1:07:57
know, I'm grateful for your continued
1:07:59
interest in um
1:08:02
and support of the channel. So until
1:08:04
next time, please remain observant,
1:08:07
trust your instincts, and remember that
1:08:09
the world around us may be far stranger
1:08:12
than we've been led to believe. So um
1:08:15
again, have a nice evening, have a great
1:08:18
weekend. See you next Friday. Good
1:08:20
night.
