Gradually add the water while stirring until the mixture forms a dough with a Play-Doh-like consistency. Knead the Dough: Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until the dough is smooth and firm. If the dough is too dry, add a teaspoon of water at a time until it reaches the proper texture. Create Your Shapes: Roll out the dough to your desired thickness (about 1/4 inch is standard). Use cookie cutters or shape the dough by hand to create your designs. Bake the Dough: Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C). Place your shapes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 2-3 hours, or until the dough is completely dry and hard. The baking time may vary depending on the thickness of your shapes. Decorate: Once cooled, you can paint and decorate your salt dough creations as desired. Seal with a clear varnish or Mod Podge to preserve them.
