Okay, now we're going to talk about a single pull, single throw toggle switch
0:06
This is an illuminated toggle switch. I have it hooked up to a simple circuit here
0:13
There's several wires here, but I'll walk you through each one. I have a power supply of a 9 volt battery here
0:21
The positive power supply comes along this red wire here, and it goes to this red jumper wire here
0:30
this alligator clip jumper wire it goes from here around and it goes to this terminal
0:41
of the toggle switch so there you can see that there's an on-off label here I have
0:53
the red jumper going to the side that it says off here
1:00
And then I have this yellow alligator clip here, the jumper wire, coming off of this terminal of this toggle switch, which is on the on side of this particular switch
1:15
And that yellow jumper is going around, and its other end is hooked to this yellow jumper wire here that goes to the positive rail of the breadboard
1:26
There's another yellow jumper wire connected to the positive rail of the redboard
1:34
and it's in line with the anode of this red LED here
1:39
The cathode of the red LED is in line with this resistor here
1:44
and the resistor goes to the negative rail of the breadboard. We could see that there a green jumper wire here that connected to a point in the negative rail of the breadboard This green jumper wire has a green colored alligator clip
2:03
Jumper wire connected to it. That green wire comes around and it goes to this terminal of the toggle switch, which is the negative, you can see it says
2:18
negative LED here. This is where our negatives will connect to this terminal here. We can
2:25
see that there's also a black jumper wire with an alligator clip also connected to
2:31
the same negative terminal on the toggle switch. That black wire goes around and it goes back
2:41
to the negative supply of the battery. So that is a the connections that we have. Like I said, this is an illuminated toggle switch
2:55
so there's an LED that lights up when you turn it on into the on position
3:02
and will also turn the red LED on when I flip the switch
3:08
You can see that both this LED on the toggle switch, which is blue, and the
3:17
and the red LED on the breadboard both lit up. I'll turn it off
3:26
Both LEDs turned off. I'm going to turn this light next to me off
3:34
That way we can see a little better. Again, I'm going to turn the toggle switch on
3:40
both the blue LED on the toggle switch and the red LED on the breadboard turned on
