I got my hands on Motorola's newest foldables, the Razer 2026 lineup
0:04
That is the Razer Standard, the Razer Plus, and the Razer Ultra
0:09
For the better part of a decade, Motorola has been refining its Razer lineup of clamshell foldables
0:15
and it shows in the 2026 phones. These are sleek, powerful devices that fit in your pocket or purse
0:22
even if it's hard to tell what's changed over last year's models. Unfortunately, you're going to have to pay a bit extra to pick them up
0:30
Like many other phones coming out this year, owing to the RAM shortage or tariffs or other issues, the 2026 Razer lineup all got price bumps
0:40
The baseline Razer may no longer be the cheapest full-blown town thanks to a $100 bump up to $800 starting price, and even got its starting storage reduced down to 128GB
0:51
The Razer Plus also got bumped up $100 to a starting price of $1,100
0:58
And the 2026 Razer Ultra probably got the worst of it with a $200 price hike
1:03
which now costs an eye-watering $1,500, which is almost as much as the new book-style Motorola Razer Fold
1:13
But with price hikes come a handful of upgrades over last year Razers All three models have batteries with silicon carbon anodes instead of graphite anodes something that becoming increasingly common in phones
1:24
Motorola says it allows them to get more capacity without increasing the battery size within the
1:29
phones, which could lead to slightly longer battery life, something we're eager to test
1:34
Foldable's also got new camera features, which have some AI tweaks but are mostly just cool to use
1:39
For instance, when the camera app is open, if you unfold any of the phones about halfway and hold it like an old school camcorder, it'll start recording video
1:49
Then you can tilt the Razer side to side to zoom in, which feels like a neat new Moto gesture to add to old standbys like the chop chop to turn on the flashlight
1:58
The price hikes are bitter pills to swallow, but Motorola is far from the only phone maker that's making its high end handsets a little more expensive this year
2:05
The 2026 Razer, Razer Plus, and Razer Ultra are inarguably the best and fastest clamshell foldables the company has ever released
2:14
But their priciness as a side of the times is more than an indicator that your favorite Android foldables have gotten noticeably better
