Everything we expect from Samsung’s July event (Fold 8, watches, and glasses!)

Are you ready for a new Galaxy Z Fold, one that's wide

a Fold Ultra, new smartwatches, and how about new smart glasses? That's what we're expecting from Samsung

at its July event. These devices have been in the press so long

it feels like they've been official for ages, but that's not the case. We are expecting a brand new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold model

so they would be two-fold devices. Online, you've probably heard of it as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 wide

We may have seen it in the wild a few months ago. Remember these images from dcinside.com

Look at this chonky block. The photographer who took these photos said they used 20x zoom

which definitely explains the blurriness. We saw case makers show off their new Galaxy Z Fold 8 wide cases

with what looks like the 8 wide inside. But as we near the event, even more info has arrived

Samsung itself is teasing the wider fold. Samsung Mobile's X account posted a Spider-Man promotional image

It shows Spidey's mechanical web shooter thwipping onto some kind of foldable phone

Now, you may be thinking, I, as really, You think that's enough to say it's a new Fold? And I say let's zoom in

Look at that button placement. There's a volume rocker near the edge of the device with a power button below it

Well that's not the same as the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The Spidey Fold has an antenna line between the buttons

The current Z Fold antenna lines around not between So whatever it is it a different phone than the Fold 7 at least what spider get you to buy a foldable phone let me know in the comments this wide fold is expected to be called the galaxy Z fold

8 the tall boy fold would become the Z fold 8 ultra more on that in a bit if

you want to see how these devices look together check out this leak from Android headlines these look really really official to me and if Samsung

brings a deep purple color to its fold? Hooray! The wide fold's front screen would be around 5.4 inches

while its inner screen would be around 7.6 inches and in a 4-3 ratio. That's the same ratio as really

old TVs and iPads. Now, why does this matter? The current Z Fold, the Fold 7, has a nearly square

3.33 to 3 ratio. When you watch widescreen video in portrait or landscape, there's not a big

difference in video size and you get to see black bars above and below. The Fold 8's display may show

a similar size video on its inner screen, but I think people are really going to take note of it

Look at that big screen with a big video playing on it. Human psychology is going to play a big

part here. Speaking of that big screen, reports say that this generation of Fold devices are taking

on the crease in a big way Samsung Display which is a separate company from Samsung Electronics though they are owned by the same parent company Samsung Display announced its new flex titanium tech for foldable displays Our colleagues over at CNET got to check out the

Samsung Display Labs, so we've seen the company's advances. In short, Samsung's press release says

that this new display, quote, maximizes content immersion on a seamless screen and reduces crease

visibility. What does that look like? Take a look at this device. It looks like a regular old tablet

it right? Wrong. This screen is made up of two displays and it looks pretty flat. A lot of

reliable sources say that both folds, when open, will have an almost invisible crease. So maybe

this is a preview of the new folds. As for the screen, the Z Fold 8 is expected to have the

highest pixel density of any Samsung foldable phone. So what is going to make the tall Galaxy

Z Fold 8 Ultra ultra? It's expected to basically look like the Z Fold 7. The 8 Ultra would have

three cameras on the back compared to the Fold 8's Duo. Its dimensions should stay the same as

the Fold 7. You know what could separate the two? S Pen support. I've seen some rumors online saying

the Ultra will bring back S Pen support. For those unfamiliar, the S Pen lets you write on

a screen with a great deal of precision. Samsung includes one with many of its tablets. Also

if you unfamiliar I am a stylist fan Long story short I have yet to see reliable sources to say that S Pen support is coming back also samsung rarely revives features after retiring them the company just got rid of s pen support with the

fold 7 we are expecting new galaxy watches samsung teased that as well in a video this video shows a

block of text while a spherical magnifying glass embigens certain words like all new inside then

the sphere goes away replaced by a black disc that reads coming soon to your wrist and we are left

with the squircle shape of probably a Galaxy Watch. A brand new Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 should arrive as well

From the leaks, it looks like the Ultra's design will remain virtually unchanged

But inside, be ready for a bigger battery, better processor, and a brighter screen

It would be running One UI XR, which is Samsung's customized version of Android XR

One UI XR, that's the same OS that's on the Galaxy XR headset

How will an audio-only pair of smart glasses work? It should work well because Google specifically designed Android XR for smart glasses without displays
