Showtime's "Dexter" followed vigilante serial-killer-with-a-conscience Dexter Morgan as he sought out and killed serial killers who were a little worse than he was. By the time the series ended after eight seasons, there had been a few excellent story arcs, and a few that flew entirely off the rails, and the final episode, disappointingly, saw Dexter in a whole new life in the Pacific Northwest.
