A bride planned a beautiful surprise for her musician dad on her wedding day, by playing a song they had recorded when she was just two years old during their father-daughter dance. Growing up in New York, Saxstine Diaz, 28, and her father, Arikson De’Mesa, 60, always bonded over a love of music. In 1999, when his daughter was two years old, Arikson captured a few recordings of Saxstine (pronounced: Sax-Steen) singing, while he played an instrument in the background. Years later, that tape was converted into an MP3 file, and Saxstine saved a version of it into her iCloud. But having forgotten about the recording for years, Saxstine was clearing her phone during the middle of wedding planning and found the clip once more. She decided it would be a beautiful gesture to her dad to play the recording at her wedding, and so she lined it up to play during her father-daughter dance. When the clip played, on June 14, 2025, at Villa Toscana, Miami, where Saxstine is now based, Arikson was clearly moved by the gesture.
