The Birth of John the Baptist | Short Bible Story | Luke 1:5-23, 57-66

In Luke 1:5–23 and 57–66, we see the powerful story of Zechariah and Elizabeth. Though they were old and without children, God chose them to be the parents of John the Baptist, the one who would prepare the way for Jesus. When the angel Gabriel appeared to Zechariah in the temple, he doubted the message and was struck mute until the promise was fulfilled. Yet, in God’s perfect timing, Elizabeth gave birth to John, and when Zechariah confirmed his name, his speech was restored. This story reminds us that nothing is impossible with God and that His promises always come true, no matter our doubts or circumstances.
