A blind humanity stood before the cross, unable to recognize the One they were crucifying. In Luke 23:34–38, Jesus, in the midst of suffering and mockery, responds with mercy: “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” While the crowd rejected Him, He was accomplishing the greatest act of love—giving His life for them. Their blindness kept them from seeing the Savior before them, yet His forgiveness still reached out to them. This passage reminds us that spiritual blindness is not only of the past. Even today, we can fail to recognize His presence and His sacrifice. Yet His love remains constant—a love that forgives, restores, and opens our eyes to the truth.
