0:19
marking a grim Milestone alarmingly more
0:22

0:25
to fentel a synthetic op white 50 times
0:28
more ENT than
0:30
the start contrast to a decade ago when
0:34
less than 40,000 individuals died from
0:37
drug overdoses in the country with
0:41
fental being responsible for less than
0:44
10% of those deaths is revealed in a
0:48
recent study by researchers at the
0:50
University of California Los Angeles
0:53
UCLA the study examed overd Trends in
0:56
the United States from 2010 to 2021
1:00
using data from the Centers for Disease
1:02
Control and prevention the data
1:04
highlights how fanil has reshaped the
1:07
landscape of drug overdoses in the
1:09
United States over the past decade
1:12
licitly manufactured fanil has figured
1:15
an unprecedented overdo crisis in the
1:18
nation the riseing fenin related deaths
1:21
began in 2015 and since then the drug
1:25
has continued to spread leading to a
1:27
substantial increase in death rates
1:30
initially around 80% of Fenton lower
1:33
doses occurred east of the Mississippi
1:36
River in 2018 however in 2019 fenil
1:40
emerged in the western us affecting
1:43
regions previously insulated from its
1:46
efforts the study also warns of another
1:49
concerning Trend an increase in deaths
1:51
linked to the use of both Fenton meal
1:54
and other stimulant drugs such as
1:56
cocaine and
1:58
methamphetamine this trend varies by
2:00
region due to differences in drug use
2:03
patterns for instance areas in the
2:05
northeastern us like Vermont and connect
2:08
could have higher death rates related to
2:11
the combined use of fentony and cocaine
2:13
given cocaine's historical prevalence in
2:16
those regions in contrast the rest of
2:18
the country from West Virginia to
2:20
California experiences primarily
2:23
methampetamine and ventanal related
2:26
deaths these findings challenge the
2:29
perception that the opioid crisis
2:31
primarily affects the white population
2:34
as the study reveals that
2:36
African-Americans are also experiencing
2:38
higher rates of death resulting from the
2:41
combination of fanil and Other Drugs
2:44
spanning various age groups and
2:46
Geographic locations the shift
2:48
underscores the need for increased
2:50
awareness and targeted efforts to advest
2:53
this growing crisis particularly among
2:56
minority communities while fanil was
2:59
initially met with reluctance when it
3:01
entered the legal drug Supply due to its
3:03
potency its affordability and addictive
3:06
nature have made it widely available and
3:08
S after by individuals struggling with
3:10
substance use in conclusion the study's
3:13
data underscores the urgent need for a
3:16
comprehensive response to the fental
3:19
crisis highlighting its far-reaching
3:21
impact and the necessity for tailored
3:24
interventions to save lives across
