Peppermint Tea Recipe
Introduction:
Peppermint tea is a refreshing and soothing herbal infusion known for its cooling, minty flavor and calming properties. Made from peppermint leaves, it’s a great remedy for digestion, headaches, and stress. Plus, it requires minimal ingredients and can be brewed in minutes, making it a quick and comforting beverage.
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon fresh peppermint leaves (or 1 teaspoon dried peppermint leaves)
1 cup (240ml) water
Optional: honey, lemon
Preparation:
Boil Water: Bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Use fresh, cold water for the best results, as it ensures a crisp flavor.
Prepare the Peppermint Leaves: If using fresh peppermint, rinse the leaves thoroughly and lightly crush them to release their essential oils.
Steep the Tea: Add the peppermint leaves to a teapot or cup. Pour the boiling water over the leaves and cover. Let the tea steep for 5-10 minutes, depending on your taste preference.
For a Light Brew: Steep for 5 minutes for a milder flavor.
For a Strong Brew: Steep for 10 minutes for a more intense, cooling mint taste.
Strain and Serve: Once steeped, strain the tea into a cup. Add honey or lemon if desired for extra flavor.
Cooking Times for Different Strengths:
Mild: 5 minutes for a light, refreshing tea.
Moderate: 7 minutes for a balanced, flavorful tea.
