Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has acknowledged making a “huge mistake” in associating with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, admitting to affairs with two Russian women.
During a town hall with Gates Foundation employees, Gates “took responsibility for his actions” over his ties to Epstein, according to a spokesperson for the organization.
“I did have affairs, one with a Russian bridge player who met me at bridge events, and one with a Russian nuclear physicist who I met through business activities,” Gates said in the meeting.
However, he denied any involvement in the disgraced financier’s crimes after appearing several times in the US Justice Department's release of documents linked to Epstein.
The files include emails between Gates and Epstein about philanthropic projects, as well as photos from events they both attended.
He described his relationship with Epstein as a “huge mistake," claiming that he neither engaged in nor witnessed anything “illicit.”
