Hey, what's going on guys
0:01
This is Taiba Hazardkeeks.com. And today we're going to try to figure out how to identify the fake Jordan 13 Starfish
0:09
Now that's not a shoe that's been like very highly coveted because I went to my local mall
0:14
and I was able to get pictures of the size down and a half and in size eight
0:19
So it wasn't hard to get. They were still sitting on the wall. So this is probably a good time to go back to taking a time when it comes to like buying this general release of sneakers
0:29
especially colorways that are pretty dark. Like this one here, it's not something
0:33
that people are really looking for. So nevertheless, I felt like it was important
0:37
for me to do a side-by-side comparison. So both shoes that I used were nine and a half and an eight
0:43
And then I'm gonna go through it in a second, but before I get into it, I kind of wanted to show you
0:48
a couple of pictures of the Kobe custom shoot that I saw online the other day
0:54
So let's watch that. And then after that, I'm gonna get into
0:58
are showing you the differences. All right, now, let's get into it
1:49
Now, the first thing that I noticed, again, both shoes on this picture are size eight
1:53
Again, this is a picture that I took when I was a finished line. Alright, so if you look at the bottom with the shoe, this indentation here, like the bottom, if you look at the fake one, it's not as deep as it is on the authentic
2:06
You can see how the depth is like really pronounced. You can see that depth here
2:10
You see that. And if you look here, this area on the next set of, the next set of parts, if you see this area here, on the fake one is kind of slanted
2:23
There's no curve at all. It's like slanted to the side like it's slanted like this so you can kind of see the difference there. It's like pretty hit your eyes when you see it
2:32
Okay, again. Let's look at the depth here and the depth here and here is pretty shallow. There's no depth to it. All right and then the next
2:41
set of differences that I saw was on the back for some reason for most
2:46
Jordan on 13 the mistakes are pretty much the same now if you look at the size down in half the tab on the back is always short on the fake
2:55
one like you look at how much it extends here it extends to this I'll put this here for
3:01
purpose that line a yellow line see this is the hologram so they are pretty much adjacent if you
3:06
were to put them together so this and this supposed to be on the same line but if you see on the
3:10
fake one it's like there's a big gap here there's a gap all right and if you look at the
3:15
overlays like the inclination of it is like more steep on the authentic and not as steep on
3:21
the fake one and the gap between the the meteor's side overlay and the edge of the midsoule on the authentic pair is much shorter
3:32
that means this overlay is placed a little too high on the fake one you will see how
3:36
crazy it is on the size 8 I'm gonna show you the picture next now this is the
3:41
size 8 and I have like six different things that I notice here again the tab on
3:46
the back of the authentic pair is pretty much like lined up with the hologram
3:52
edge okay you can see that on the authentic on the fake one the type is too short and if you look at number three here number three again see how
4:00
it's slanted like there's a better inclination here steep on the on the fake pair is not as steep as it is
4:06
on the authentic and look at the gap between this overlay and this overlay much wider on the authentic
4:12
pair and a little much smaller on the fake bear and six there's a line here the stitches those stitches
4:19
are placed way on this side on the authentic pair and the fake pair they come way to the left
4:25
You can kind of see that right on four you can see the bottom like that bottom here again is crooked It elevated It not the same They are both sides eight They should technically have the same features Again take a good look at it
4:38
You can always go back on my website and look at it closely
4:43
And then the next thing we're going to look at is we're going to look at the box
4:46
Before I look at the box, let me show you on the tongue
4:50
This is also a big deal here. The tongue and the fake one is usually really short
4:55
You can kind of see how short it is. longer tongue on the authentic and see the fake one is like pretty crooked it goes
5:02
up and down like the bravlar it's like really crooked here this is why I put the arrow there to show you that it's crooked and then if you look at a jump band
5:09
he has a pot belly here look at his belly on the on the authentic no belly there
5:14
and you could look at the gap between the edge of the tongue and the fair set
5:18
of laces there's a gap here on the authentic and the fake bear literally no gap
5:23
is almost adjacent so it's really really like short It shows you how short the tongue is on the fake pair and then the last step is the box label
5:32
Big deal the color that gray is not the same as this gray is a lighter gray on the authentic and
5:38
The font of the letters is so bold on the fake pair You can see white starfish and the nine and a half is much wider on the fake pair
5:46
The whole thing is just I mean saying look at the the MSRP sticker again. You don't see that tear up line on the fake pair is nowhere to be seen
5:57
And the QR code is much bolder and the jump band do not look the same
6:03
And then this RFID identify here, again, much bold on the fake bear
6:07
It's just a lot of things you can look at. And the box itself, the color of the box is not the same
6:12
So those are things that you can look for. Now I want to talk about my thoughts on the new set of UA, basically fake sneakers that we are seeing on the market
6:22
So I want to get into that now. So let's jump into that. So basically the thing is this like we I always do this authentic versus fake
6:31
sneakers and I find myself struggling to find flaws on the new set of
6:40
fakes that I've seen actually I'm gonna show you some picture here real quick okay
6:44
let's jump into this I'm gonna show you some pictures before I jump into like this is a website
6:50
that has so many fakes like they have a cool grays they have the galley's they have the
6:55
and I'm gonna get into why this is crazy and the J Balvin they got the
7:01
Erjordan 185 they got so much stuff they got Yeezys on there and they got the
7:06
easy sun so it's like the naked eye will never be able to figure this thing
7:14
out like this is insane like I'm gonna show you first the nature of this new
7:22
set of fakes and then we're gonna get into why this is here why am I saying this so I mean this to me is like how do you how do you like
7:36
authenticate these things if you don't really I mean it's the point was like why
7:39
even bother because the shoes are built with premium leather materials like the
7:46
original material most most of the brands are using major brains I mean it's
7:52
crazy I'm just scheming through a real quick so I can kind of give you a picture of what's taking place here and I'm going to also cover why
8:00
these guys are selling fakes and why people are buying fakes we're going to cover
8:05
that I want to go real quick and I'm going to show you I mean this is just
8:09
incredible there's several reasons why okay now let's look at it again this is the
8:18
fake easy 300 son the one that just came out and then let's talk about
8:25
Why are people buying fakes and why are people selling fakes? Pretty much for the sellers is money
8:32
Okay, like most of the sellers, now they have access to the American consumer or the worldwide consumer
8:39
Americans buy a lot of shoes, but they have access to like all these consumers
8:44
And the consumers are online via Instagram, YouTube, and whatever social media out there you're using
8:50
So there's a lot of Facebook ads that are popping up when you're on your Facebook page
8:54
and same thing on Instagram, Twitter, YouTube. So this sellers in China or whatever country they live in when they see how much people are willing to pay for the authentic sneakers they like why don we sell these shoes to these people directly
9:10
This is almost like a DTC, direct to consumer. See, Nike has contract with factories in China, and then they get the shoes made there
9:19
And I don't know how much Nike pays for the shoes. Some people say $5. Some people say $10
9:23
Some people say $2. We don't know. We don't have access to it
9:27
But I know for sure that Nike's markup is. probably close to 400 or 800% I'm sure they're making a killing on these sneakers so
9:36
when these guys in this factory see how much money Nike is fetching by you know that low
9:42
cost um manufacturing cost all this thing is low for Nike because they go and have this contract
9:47
with places overseas where the the cost is really low so they are thinking listen if these guys
9:53
are going to make money of our backs listen we have the blueprint we can make the same shoes
9:58
and we can get access to these consumers directly. In the beginning, they were making bad fakes with four materials
10:05
and people were laughing at it. Like, you would go to the flea market, and those flea-market sneakers where they want people
10:10
people are making fun of. But now we have a new set of fakes, which is everybody knows they're unauthorized
10:16
authentic, or the UA, or the perfect replicas, or whatever name you want to use
10:20
So they're making those now. So therefore, people are like, listen, I don't care
10:26
I'm going to pay less money together. access to this shoe it looks the same the quality the same nobody's going to come
10:31
and check my feet first of all you know if I'm gonna do because the shoe is
10:35
pretty much identical and I'm telling you I've received some fakes from these companies and the side by side that I showed you I mean it's like sometimes I
10:42
spent like pretty much like hours to trying to find a floor and finally I find
10:47
some flaws and those flaws are like really irrelevant to be honest now now
10:52
people complain about the fact that the fake shoes sometimes don't have the same material. It's the same thing for the most part. Maybe there may be some some differences in
11:00
the stitches a little bit, but for the most part, it's the same built. So it's like, what do you do
11:06
You know, people are like, listen, if the shoe looks good, it's a good material and it's only $100
11:11
I'm going to pay for it. As a matter of fact, some of these fakes are like $180 and $150. So they
11:17
cost money. Now, the thing is this. How are the fake companies able to make those great sneakers
11:23
This is what we need to find out and I'm gonna show you a couple of things on my website now
11:27
Let's go to my website And I want to show you this like the other day. I saw some fake on cool grays, okay
11:35
So I was thinking how these guys making all these Cool grays how are they able to make so many shoes if you think about it if you assume that for every
11:43
authentic sneaker The bootleg industry is making four Fake shoes in other words if you make one pair of cool gray this the bootlegs
11:53
I'm making for fixed, okay? And you know I'm being very conservative
11:57
because these numbers are pretty small. Like, for the most part, they make a gang of them. So if Nike made about 600,000 pairs of the cool grade 11th
12:05
and they should retail for 175, Nike made about $105 million on that shoe
12:11
Okay, that's my assumption. So since we assume that the ratios 1 to 4
12:15
so therefore the fake industry made about 4,000,000,000,000 pairs. So if Nike made 6,000,000,000,000,000
12:23
600,000 pairs, the fake industry may close to 3 million pairs. Okay, now let's say they're selling these fake cool grade 11 for $100
12:32
So you take that $100 and you multiply that $100 by $2.400 million
12:37
They are making about $135 million. So you wonder how they're able to make those fake shoes so easily
12:44
They have money because people are buying massive amount of bootlegs and they are reselling
12:51
Now, the place, they think is just like, Back then, guys used to be excommunicated for selling fakes
12:58
And it says that back then, like in the early 2000s, even like in the 90s or a little bit later
13:04
like if you sold fakes, you were banned from like Nike Talk, so collector and ISS and all these places
13:11
people who just blast your name and you get banned. And now, there's no shame anymore in selling fakes
13:17
Actually, people brag about selling fakes because it's actually accepted. So you don't get excommunication
13:23
So the sneaker community has much more tolerance now for Fakes because they are saying, you know what
13:32
Screw Nike because Nike has been getting away with the murder which is right because I don even try to get Nike shoes anymore I go to the mall and I go to my local mall see if I could get the shoe from downtown locker
13:44
If I can't get it, then forget it. Because I'm not going to try to get it on the sneakers app
13:49
I'm not going to try to get it online because all the bots are like crazy. So you cannot get access to any shoes
13:55
So therefore, what's the other alternative? The other alternative is to get fakes
14:01
And those fakes are no longer called fakes. they are called UA sneakers now
14:04
So people are saying it looks the same, it feels the same. Guess what
14:08
I'm going to get it. But now there's a lot of legal issues because people that are selling fakes are getting busted
14:14
So what they've done now is create their own brains, which is the new breed of footlegs now
14:19
And this is crazy because I was stunned with what I saw the other day
14:23
I'm going to share it with you in a minute. So I wrote an article on the new set of fake that I've seen
14:29
Like these are like the archives, the race. Reeves, Archives, and pretty much the Fugazis, which is ironic
14:40
And then I never heard of you. So basically, these people are pretty much creating silhouettes that are on demand
14:46
Like the Jordan one is on demand now. So they are making pretty much similar models and they're just modifying
14:51
They're taking away the Nike's Bush logo and replacing it with their own logo
14:56
In this case, the lightning bolt. And this is a pretty nice looking shoe
15:00
If you go on eBay, this shoe is reselling for $400 and the retail price on this is $190
15:07
Because people have gotten to the point where they are saying, we are sick and tired of Nike capitalizing and also we're going to create our own brands
15:14
And ladies and gentlemen, this is the best time to have your own brand
15:18
So if you have pretty much a large following on Instagram or whatever, if you have a sphere of influence and people like what you do, they're going to get it because the shoe is great quality
15:27
It comes to a nice package saying this is working. So my thoughts on the UA is this, this new new set of the UA is this new set of bootlegs
15:33
this new set of bootlegs, oh, this new set of bootlegs, as long as what you're doing is legal
15:38
then go for it. I'm not going to knock on anyone making a shoe that looks like an anchor shoe
15:42
because Babe did the same thing. This is how Babe started. They took the Air Force one
15:46
then pretty much to rip the logo off, and then they made their own little star, Babe Star
15:50
and then that's how they got away with it. So if you have, if you have like a following
15:56
and people actually want your stuff, then go for it. Why not
15:59
I mean, if the shoe looks like a Nike shoe and but it's not a Nike shoe and people are like gravitating toward it
16:04
then go for it. I'm not going to tell you, don't do it because it's fake. Now, it's not fake because actually
16:09
you took the initiative and you created your own label and which is fine by me
16:14
You know, it's fine by me. But as far as like to fix themselves, like the one with the Nike logos on it
16:21
that's just you're asking for trouble. You may get away with it. But I'll say
16:26
at least if you're selling fake, tell people, this is this is not the legitimate shoe this is a this is a fake one and don't overprice on these
16:36
sneakers i'm not i'm not encouraging you to do it but at least don't do that because at least that
16:41
that's like that's not right okay you got let people know what you have on your hand at least be
16:46
honest and be up front and say this is a fake shoe i'm not going to go around and chase but this is why i do
16:51
my real versus fake because i try to point out differences whatever they may be sometimes there is
16:56
no differences sometimes i'm just in there i'm like i'm trying to find something yeah i can't
16:59
can't find it. So I don't want to force the narrative. I don't want to force something that's not there
17:04
So my thoughts on the UA sneakers, they're here to stay. They're not going to go away because people are getting sick and tired of being
17:11
burned on Nike. So they want to make their own stuff. And they're going to keep thriving because guess what is the market for it
17:16
People want it and they have the money. And they are invested in expensive machinery
17:21
So it's going to keep thriving. And Nike better find another solution
17:27
I don't know what the solution is going to be. but at this point people don't even care because their shoe looks great they are they made with like they are made with like great material so that's gonna that's gonna always stay here okay so that's all I wanted to say but again if you like this type of content if you want me to talk about another thing let's say like the the the projection that I do I haven't done one in like a week so please be sure to send me a message on YouTube or just leave a comment
