Welcome back to our study of the book of Hebrews. We started chapter 2 last week and talked about one of the reasons why we shouldn’t neglect the salvation God has accomplished through Jesus. Because He is the Son of God and therefore has authority and preeminence over all creation, it is imperative that we heed His word lest we come under God’s discipline. Verses 5 through 9 give additional reasons why the people of God must not neglect this great salvation.

but here's the thing that david saw even

see angels may have all this power and

those who will inherit salvation us but

a reflection of his image and that's why

god has given us this mandate

so creation shall see the image of god

been given dominion over his works

but there is a problem and and the

writer of hebrew sees that

right now it seems as if man is actually

subject to all kinds of sufferings okay

okay we get sick we suffer

there is pain there is suffering we fail

fear there is despair there is

hopelessness

there is all kind of stuff even with

advanced in in in the medical field

even with all these things that have

happened we still suffer we still die

we still have pain we still lose loved

and it seems as if we have no dominion

all god's creation people get killed by

animals

people get dominated by things it just

seems as if god's promise has failed

okay and that that's what makes makes us

god said that we should have dominion

but it doesn't seem as if we have

dominion right now

because everything seems as if it is the

other way around

like we are being dominated by

everything around us life is dominating

pain is dominating fear is dominating

death is dominating sickness

and this is what it seems as if this is

what's going on now it seems to say we

don't have that dominion

but verse 9 solves that problem

we see him who for a little while was

lower than the angels namely jesus

the suffering of death so that by the

for us it's not that we did it

by becoming a man he came to intercede

so right now things may look desperate i

that this is not the end

we will be restored again and we will

this is this is the kind of stuff that

and god is faithful and we know that

all things are going to end according to

god's word so we should rejoice in that

so then when we struggle

there should be a sense in which we

rejoice because we know that this is not

the end

and i wanna read on the following verse

blessed are they meek for they shall

inherit the earth

we will one day have dominion because

has showed it by his life and by his

death on the cross he restored that

broken fellowship so

one day we will reign with christ so the

salvation is like

there's so many layers to this salvation

and we should not just look at now

because someday somehow pain will end

sickness will end disease will end death

will end suffering will end and we will

reign we will have dominion over the

world

we will no longer be subjected to the

world but we will have dominion

with jesus christ and this is because

jesus did it for us

so you should take um some kind of re

what the scripture is telling us today
