The story takes place after the Medo-Persian empire takes control of Babylon. You can read it in its entirety, see Daniel 6:1-28. In order for us to fully comprehend the story, we must first humbly ask the Spirit of the Living God to open our minds. This isn't an academic exercise, but we are seeking to see Jesus our savior through the pages of the Holy Scriptures. For this passage, these are the questions that came to my mind.

hello guys on this is Dave again and
0:04
this next story comes out of the Book of
0:09
Daniel chapter 6 and a lot of people are
0:12
familiar with the story is Daniel in the
0:14
lion's den and this takes place in
0:18
Babylon when the middle Persian Empire
0:21
takes over Babylon and the riots the
0:24
meed is in control and he appoints about
0:28
120 say tribes and in overdose 126 rap
0:31
he has three high officials and Daniel
0:35
is one of them and Daniel is set up and
0:38
he is thrown into a lion's den and he
0:41
does not die because the Lions do not
0:44
evolve because he's rescued me right
0:46
closely by the Lord now the story is is
0:50
nice and in his miraculous but I don't
0:52
think the Lord want us to just stick to
0:55
the miraculous here there's a lot more
0:56
to it he does not just give us these
0:58
stories for us to see how powerful he is
1:01
there's a lot more to he wants to teach
1:03
us more out of these stories and this is
1:06
what I'm studying today so again before
1:09
you go into these passages and
1:13
understand the scriptures you know it's
1:15
always good to start with asking the
1:16
Holy Spirit to shed some light because
1:19
he initiated the Word of God and he
1:21
knows I mean he knows how to interpret
1:23
it properly like I said in first John
1:26
first John said um you don't need anyone
1:29
to teach you of anything doesn't mean
1:31
that you're proud but if you sit at his
1:34
feet and ask him for an interpretation
1:36
and ask him to guide you it's going to
1:39
take time but eventually God is going to
1:42
be faithful because he promises that he
1:44
wants to disclose his kingdom to us and
1:46
part of it is explained in scriptures to
1:49
us so that we can understand it and
1:50
trust in his name because God does not
1:55
expect us to have it faith does void of
1:57
evidence he provided many many many
2:01
evidences in the Holy Scriptures and
2:03
this story just happens to be one of
2:06
those stories that yet sometimes lost
2:08
because we lose the meaning of it and we
2:11
lose what God is really trying to say
2:14
now onto to really understand these
2:16
passages asked a lot of questions and
2:19
I'm gonna show that to you so let's get
2:22
into it I had a PowerPoint here now and
2:25
this story again is how the riots to me
2:26
receive the good news and now the first
2:30
thing everyone need to understand is how
2:33
did the riots and others perceive Daniel
2:35
Daniel was the only Jew that was a
2:39
higher official you know one of the
2:41
three higher officials and how was he
2:43
perceived by other people like how did
2:46
they look at him what what was he like
2:48
like his character what do they know how
2:50
do people look at Daniel and say who is
2:52
this man and and then if you read the
2:55
passage and actually I put this in a
2:56
PowerPoint in Daniels his verse three
2:58
and four this is what he says then this
3:01
Daniel became distinguished above all
3:04
the other high official and say traps
3:06
because an excellent spirit was in him
3:09
the King planned to sell him over Old
3:11
Kingdom and his peers his co-workers in
3:14
verse five and six they were jealous of
3:16
him because this is what he says he
3:18
attained a high officer and it's a trap
3:20
so to find a ground for complaint
3:22
against Daniel
3:23
we got to the kingdom but they couldn't
3:25
find they could find no ground for
3:27
complaint or any fault because he was
3:29
faithful and what error of fault was
3:32
found in him then this man said we shall
3:34
not find any ground for complaint
3:36
against this Daniel now if you look at
3:38
first Peter 2:12 our Peter talks about
3:41
it live such good lives among the pagans
3:43
among people that you work with or
3:45
people that you will come across and
3:46
people that you actually hang out with
3:48
so that they can see your good deeds and
3:49
praise your father was in heaven
3:51
so basically Daniel was an exemplary
3:54
exemplary citizen he was a trusted
3:58
official he was righteous in his ways so
4:01
there's nothing that people could find
4:03
wrong about it now how does that what
4:06
does that say to you about your own life
4:08
do you leave like that
4:10
it will people can people see your life
4:12
and kind of say the same thing this is
4:14
what we're after right now so basically
4:17
a highlighter from where you are
4:18
distinguished above all ii-era higher
4:21
officials an excellent spirit was in him
4:23
the Spirit of God against and then those
4:26
hold even the people in like new
4:28
there's no ground for complaint against
4:31
Daniel so he was distinguished he was a
4:34
good man so to speak now so they made
4:38
him jealous because the riots wanted to
4:40
send over everybody else and they were
4:43
jealous so now the next question is this
4:45
what was the cross plot against Daniel
4:48
and how was it delivered now the plot in
4:50
verse 5 this man said we shall not find
4:53
any ground for complaint against this
4:56
Daniel unless we find it in connection
4:59
with the law of his God so they did not
5:04
look at yahooey or the god of his a the
5:06
God of all the Most High God they just
5:09
look at my son our akhada King same
5:11
thing is a relative view of God now so
5:15
just what I did
5:16
they came straight to the king and they
5:20
said you know what we can't find any
5:22
ground against it
5:23
this man did so we have to find
5:24
something yes since God because he loves
5:26
his God and he's not gonna try not
5:27
denying his God so this is what we're
5:29
gonna do and this is what he did so
5:32
where was Daniel how was how was the
5:33
thing delivered I was the plot delivered
5:35
to the king now Daniel wasn't present at
5:38
a time that came to the king now the new
5:40
King King James Version consciousness
5:42
the soul and helping the best in verse 6
5:45
this is what he says so these governors
5:47
and said were thrown before the king so
5:50
the word thronged means to cry to
5:55
cluster to meal to swarm to search the
5:57
congregate so they came together they
5:59
just came to the king in near haste and
6:01
they came in huge numbers and conveyed a
6:03
sense of urgency treason because the not
6:07
time remember the media's came and took
6:09
over Babylon so I'm sure there are
6:11
factions are people trying to like
6:12
resist these are control so they came in
6:16
haste to the King and they just came in
6:18
huge numbers so they wanted to kind of
6:20
convey this idea of Kings we must
6:22
respect that there's like treason
6:23
there's something going on here so we
6:25
need to talk to you so he didn't get a
6:26
chance to ask them where is Daniel
6:28
because Daniel wasn't present but so
6:31
they came in numbers so
6:33
treason is what they might have implied
6:36
that's what I say cuz in verse 7 this is
6:39
why they say this is the product
6:40
whoever petitions any god or man for 30
6:43
days except you all King shall be cast
6:46
into the den of lions basically what
6:48
they are saying is this we think of some
6:50
people here that did not like you that I
6:51
don't want you to rule over them so do
6:53
this just so we can find the traitor you
6:55
see so they came in there in huge
6:58
numbers and there was no time for the
7:00
King arrives to ask for Daniel because
7:02
they may be conveyed his sense of
7:04
urgency there's something going on here
7:05
we need to talk now basically so he
7:07
didn't get a chance to say hey hey hey
7:09
guys wait didn't have that chance to do
7:11
it now that's odd is delivered now what
7:15
was so important about the law of the
7:16
medium Persians that's one thing so
7:20
here's the thing verse 8 this is what
7:22
the people say now Oh King established
7:24
his injunction and signed a document so
7:27
that it cannot be changed according to
7:30
the law of the Medes and the Persians
7:31
which cannot be revoked because this is
7:34
what is this is going on this is what's
7:36
going on here they come and tell the
7:38
King look make that petition that any
7:41
one that plays to any other God about
7:43
you is thrown into the Lions Den now
7:46
make it four that way is according to
7:48
the law of the median purchase that
7:49
means once she said that law it can't be
7:52
changed
7:52
even you king can't change it because
7:55
this is the law of the meat and the
7:56
Persian it cannot be changed so even the
7:59
riots the King couldn't change a lot of
8:00
when once he was fast so what does that
8:03
remind yourself I say God's law is
8:05
perfect and cannot be changed keep that
8:07
in the back of the mind because we're
8:08
gonna get back to it now why was
8:11
Daniel's response when he heard about
8:12
the part he what about his usual
8:15
business he did not compromise his
8:17
convictions in verse 10 this is what he
8:19
says when Daniel knew that the document
8:21
had been signed he went to his house
8:23
where he had windows in his upper
8:25
chamber opened towards Jerusalem he got
8:28
down on his knee three times a day and
8:29
prayed and gave thanks before his guard
8:32
as he had done previously highlighted
8:35
was to word Jerusalem and previously
8:38
remember when when Solomon was dedicated
8:40
as was Derek in the temple he said if
8:43
anyone prays towards this temple please
8:45
Lord given here and hear their prayer
8:48
that's basically what Daniel was doing
8:50
he knew
8:51
he could first yahooey his god and he
8:54
knew the consequences of his actions to
8:56
disobey the king but Dainius perspective
8:58
of life was God driven and centered
9:01
around the kingdom of God so according
9:03
to Daniel look yes King the king
9:06
derailleurs
9:06
is the king but this has to do with my
9:09
identity I can't deny my identity in
9:13
Christ so it doesn't matter what the
9:15
King says at this point I will have to
9:18
disobey this law and that's exactly why
9:20
these people came to the King because
9:21
they knew that Daniels law for his God
9:24
was so strong that there was no way he
9:27
was going to deny his identity for the
9:30
sake of the riders basically set him up
9:34
now how did this affect the rise the
9:37
rise is forced to condemn Daniel and
9:39
throw me into the Lions Den and says and
9:42
he says something profound in verse 16
9:44
this is what he says may your God whom
9:47
you serve continually deliver you again
9:50
the riotous view of the God of Israel
9:52
was also relative he said your God thus
9:56
declaring that Dana's God is now his God
9:58
yet so basically they derives respected
10:01
Daniel
10:02
he loved Daniel he did not want to put
10:04
on a lion's den but according to the law
10:05
of the middle Persian he couldn't change
10:07
the law so therefore he had to follow
10:10
clearly and he threw Daniel in the
10:12
lion's and then he tells Daniel Mayer
10:14
God is recorded that the rise can go to
10:19
sleep that night he just because he was
10:21
feeling so guilty about it he knew that
10:24
there was nothing he could do because
10:25
the law of the Medes and the Persians he
10:27
was bound by that law then the miracle
10:30
happens and Daniel is not devoured by
10:33
the Lions and what happens next
10:35
blew my mind like a Sadie and the riots
10:38
were is initially bound by the law of
10:40
the Medes and the Persians but when he
10:42
realized that Daniel was not eaten by
10:43
the lion and I put there a type of
10:46
Christ Daniel was asked denies identity
10:48
just like Christ but he didn't remember
10:51
Jesus was put on the earth and they
10:53
asked him are you the son of God and
10:55
Jesus says yes I am he didn't deny that
10:59
entity which is what Daniel is doing it
11:02
is doing the same thing he did not
11:04
denies identity for the sake of derives
11:06
so they figuratively then he arose from
11:09
death because he was contained I mean
11:13
you're thrown to the Lions then you
11:15
don't die they don't kill you and they
11:17
don't devour basically is just death now
11:20
the rice note he was going to die so the
11:23
rice gets up in the morning he goes into
11:24
the lion's den and Daniel is there alive
11:29
and when the rise realizes that he
11:31
orders dinner to be released he says get
11:33
him out of there
11:34
now here's what I thought when this
11:35
happened what became of the law of the
11:37
Medes and the Persians he still applied
11:40
because Daniel still violated the law
11:43
and the Kings are injunction co-main but
11:49
the rice at his time is like you know
11:51
what I could care less every law of the
11:55
Medes and Persians he was still
11:57
functional but no longer applied to King
12:00
derailleurs add up when he's like I'm no
12:03
longer bound by this law he was no
12:06
longer bound but to that law because he
12:08
died to the law of the Medes and the
12:11
Persians to understand this thing we
12:13
need to look at Romans 7 which I've put
12:16
there now Paul's addressing Romans 7 yes
12:18
what he says or do you not know my
12:20
brother's for I'm speaking and I'm
12:22
speaking to those who know the law that
12:25
a law is binding on a person only as
12:27
long as he leaves for a married woman is
12:30
bound by law to her husband what he
12:31
leaves but if her husband dies she is
12:34
released from the law of marriage
12:36
according accordingly she recalled an
12:39
adulteress if she leaves her another man
12:41
while her husband is alive but if her
12:43
husband dies she is free from that law
12:45
and she if she marries somebody else is
12:47
not an adulteress likewise my brothers
12:51
and this is the punchline
12:51
you also have died to the law to the
12:55
body of Christ so that you may belong to
12:57
another so him who has been raised from
13:00
the dead in order that we may bear fruit
13:02
for God for while we are living in the
13:04
flesh our sinful passions aroused by the
13:07
law were at work in our members to bear
13:09
fruit for death but now we are released
13:12
from the law having died to that which
13:16
held us captive should I we serve in a
13:18
new way of this spirit and not in the
13:21
way of the flesh so there is died to the
13:25
law of the Medes and the Persians
13:27
irrevocable we couldn't be he could not
13:29
be changed and now he is living to the
13:31
law of God the law of the Spirit he's
13:34
feeling freed from the law of the Medes
13:37
and Persians do you see the gospel there
13:40
do you see what happens do you see
13:41
what's going on there
13:43
and what is the connection between
13:44
Daniel and the Lord Jesus now this is
13:47
what I put there there was no deceit
13:49
found in Christ he was accused because
13:53
he wouldn't deny his identity he died
13:55
and rose again on the third day and
13:57
those who believe in him I've been set
13:59
free from of the law which is which
14:02
cannot be changed a perfect law of God
14:04
right jesus said in matthew far i've 18
14:07
for truly I've said to you until heaven
14:10
and earth pass away not an iota not a
14:13
dot will pass from the law until he's
14:15
accomplished all he's accomplished so
14:16
those who are under the law must live by
14:18
his principles so the law can not be
14:21
changed
14:21
God said his law which is perfect and
14:23
you can't change our law so God himself
14:26
no values law because He is God and he
14:28
changes not but when we receive Christ
14:33
as our Lord and Savior we are dead today
14:37
our law the same way the rise was dead
14:40
to the law of the Medes and the Persians
14:42
he did no longer apply tone now look
14:45
what the rise says in verse 26 I make a
14:49
decree that it every Dominion of my
14:52
kingdom
14:52
man must tremble and fear before the god
14:55
of Daniel
14:56
for he is the Living God and steadfast
14:59
for ever
15:00
his kingdom is the one which shall not
15:02
be destroyed and his Dominion shall
15:04
endure to the end you see what happens
15:06
the rious now knows that the gospel is
15:10
the truth again he went from the
15:13
relative to the absolute he died to the
15:15
law of the Medes and the Persians he was
15:18
no longer bound but I loved now he lived
15:21
to serve Yahweh you get it I mean this
15:25
is the just to me just staggering I mean
15:28
God is just an amazing God who is a God
15:31
of I'm he's just I just don't know even
15:34
know what to say this just blows my mind
15:36
all right
15:37
now I hope this helps you guys and we
15:40
will do more stuff like this anymore
15:41
