80s Musicians Who Were Really Weird People

It's a chilly November in New York City, at the cusp of the growing New Wave music movement. The New York art scene at this time is in an exciting, bizarre, experimental place in general, but you see an ad in the Village Voice that's weird enough to stop you in your tracks. It's for an event called "New Wave Vaudeville", and they're looking for a collection of humanity that can only be described as the most chaotic cross-section of the club scene: "Egyptian slaves, robot monsters, cretins, nazis, emotional cripples, piano players".
