UNEXPLAINED NEW MEXICO: The Strange & the Unusual in the Land of Enchantment

New Mexico is a land of ancient mysteries, isolated deserts, volcanic landscapes, secretive military installations, indigenous traditions, and persistent reports of unexplained phenomena. In this episode of Phantoms & Monsters Radio, Lon Strickler presents nine extraordinary witness accounts from across New Mexico involving winged humanoids, UFOs, transparent entities, mysterious portals, reptilian beings, unknown forest creatures, and a terrifying insectoid encounter. A motorist near Hobbs observes an eight-to-nine-foot winged humanoid clinging near the top of an electrical pole. The massive figure has black feathered wings, a bare or membranous body, a visible bony spine, and a small featureless head. On Tortugas Mountain, a hiker discovers a modern green doorway standing alone across a familiar trail. After stepping through it, the witness experiences intense déjà vu, distorted colors, visual flickering, an out-of-body sensation, and overwhelming dread. When the witness later returns, the doorway is gone. Near Cloudcroft in the Lincoln National Forest, teenage campers hear two enormous bipedal creatures screaming and communicating through deep clicking sounds. The entities approach the tent from different directions, with one stopping only a foot away. Two New Mexico patrol officers investigate mysterious whistling near an abandoned school. Something crawls through waist-high grass before standing upright and revealing a childlike humanoid form with illuminated blue eyes. At Holloman Air Force Base, a woman witnesses large transparent humanoids moving through the desert and appearing outside her home. The entities distort the background around them like wrinkled plastic or optical camouflage. During a childhood visit to Capulin Volcano, a witness experiences an apparent separation of consciousness and descends into an underground tunnel. There, she encounters a small robed reptilian being holding a tablet-like device. In Rio Arriba County, witnesses observe a bizarre creature with huge bat-like wings, yellow eyes, long fangs, hocked legs, and a white V-shaped marking across its chest. Outside Roswell, members of a touring band encounter a 15-foot luminous sphere that follows their van at approximately 75 miles per hour before stopping instantly above the roadside.
