what's up ladies and gentlemen this is
0:01
David Benjamin from WellStar reviews and
0:03
healthy wildre today I'm reviewing the
0:06
ATS air rower this is a rowing machine
0:10
it's the 13.99 model uh up here it has a
0:13
little screen you can just push the mode
0:15
button to see your distance your time
0:17
calories burned and your speed now when
0:20
you get locked in here I would actually
0:24
recommend to wear shoes which I'm not in
0:25
this video and the reason for that is
0:27
because if you're Barefoot which I like
0:29
to be barefoot personally so I guess
0:30
that's a one downside about this machine
0:33
is if you're Barefoot and you pull the
0:35
velcro up like this it the the two types
0:39
of velcro don't really match because
0:41
it's looking for a thicker it's looking
0:43
for you to have a shoe in there which to
0:45
be honest kind of makes sense at the
0:47
same time because you get locked in and
0:49
this plastic little thing here it
0:52
doesn't feel so great on your feet I
0:53
just like to be barefoot but you really
0:55
want to wear shoes with this machine now
0:57
once you get those shoes on you uh
0:59
attach the velcro on either side make
1:02
sure the velcro is really tight and snug
1:04
to your shoe because if not your foot
1:06
will wiggle and you'll when you're
1:08
pulling back like this uh you'll I've
1:11
had my feet on not only this roll
1:13
machine but another rowing machine come
1:14
out and if you're you know putting a lot
1:16
of energy and effort into pulling uh
1:19
that doesn't feel so good you can
1:20
actually hurt your ankle so you got to
1:21
be careful wear shoes latch the velcro
1:24
in as tight as you can and make sure
1:26
that um you know I would personally
1:28
recommend beer fooot minimal shoes I
1:29
recommend the company called zero shoes
1:31
that's x e r o zero shoes and the reason
1:34
for that is because those shoes are flat
1:35
and these are shoes I recommend for
1:37
anyone for any Fitness or walking
1:38
posture anything really and the toe box
1:42
is wider so um it's going to give you
1:44
more surface area to press and you don't
1:46
want an elevated heel or anything weird
1:48
like that a lot of big Brands like Nike
1:49
Adidas do that so I'd recommend zes but
1:52
long story short with this stamina
1:54
machine you're going to grab this bar
1:56
here about shoulder width apart like
2:00
a line forward right same as shoulders
2:03
Al line forward you're going to grab
2:04
that so more on the outside of the bar
2:06
not not too far on the inside you can do
2:07
the inside too if you go on the outside
2:09
or inside it's just going to work a
2:10
different muscle group uh and basically
2:12
what you want to do is you're going to
2:15
be working multiple muscle groups and uh
2:18
I'll give you kind of the downsides and
2:19
upsides of this rowing machine
2:20
personally so uh you're going to just
2:22
simply take back you're going to push
2:24
here so you're going to work your
2:26
hamstrings and your quads a little bit
2:28
and your uh shoulders
2:30
triceps back and then when you pull at
2:33
the end you're really going to feel it
2:34
in your biceps in fact I feel it in my
2:36
biceps more than anything um but you can
2:38
also kind of keep this straight and just
2:41
do the row too so see how I'm not
2:44
Contracting my biceps now I'm just
2:45
working my legs but to be honest with
2:48
you uh this is so loose that I don't
2:51
really feel a lot of my legs so I like
2:53
to use it and really pull and get my
2:55
upper body worked I don't really use
2:57
this get a whole lot of lower body uh
2:58
workout exposure here but it is supposed
3:00
to work your legs your back your
3:02
shoulders and your arms so that's what's
3:04
nice about rowing is you work a lot of
3:06
muscles with one exercise it's a it's
3:08
cardio and strengthening at the same
3:10
time which is also very nice so you're
3:11
just going to pull like
3:13
this and you got to make sure your butt
3:15
stays on this thing too cuz right there
3:17
I kind of moved it a little bit so one
3:19
of the things I don't like about row
3:21
machines is um you just got to make sure
3:24
your butt and feet are totally locked in
3:26
at all times otherwise your butt's fall
3:28
off or your feet are are you know
3:30
falling off and uh you know that's a way
3:32
to get injured if your feet or butt are
3:33
off course so basically you're just
3:35
going to pull like this pull
3:38
back and as you can see I'm working legs
3:42
shoulders arms in that order legs first
3:45
by pushing out shoulders and back and
3:47
then last is the arms is that pull in so
3:50
you know I'll just do a few reps to show
4:06
and that brace is back in here so you
4:10
know it locks in there and then this fan
4:11
just rolls so uh you know what I like
4:14
about this is you have the adjustability
4:17
here um you know for your length so you
4:19
know for me I can extend fully like this
4:23
nice and it's good to really get that
4:25
full extension in uh in for the record
4:28
on 5'9 but there's a good four or 5 in
4:32
so you're looking at at least someone
4:34
who's 61 62 maybe even 63 you're going
4:36
to get really that full extension uh I
4:39
don't think Beyond a six two or three
4:41
foot person you get that full extension
4:44
however because um well it's maybe
4:47
actually you know it might be oh no it's
4:49
prob 7 or 8 in so probably up to 64 65
4:52
uh you'd get that full extension so as
4:55
long as you're under 64 65 you're going
4:57
to get the full extension on this
4:58
machine like I said I like that it works
5:01
your legs your back your shoulders and
5:04
then lastly your arms and it's just a
5:06
really nice full body workout it's
5:08
cardio and strengthening at the same
5:09
time which is really nice so uh it's a
5:11
great machine I've used other rowing
5:13
machines um this one is actually pretty
5:16
solid compared to other rowing machines
5:17
for whatever reason the rowing machines
5:19
that are made of wood I just have not
5:21
had a good experience with them uh this
5:23
one even though I'm not a huge fan of
5:24
plastic it works better um and the track
5:28
for this that's what matters a lot so
5:31
that's solid right there that's some
5:33
sort of metallic uh and then these these
5:37
rotate as well uh so if you're coming
5:39
forward you're going to kind of go like
5:40
that and back like that and then you
5:41
know the vel's going to come off it's
5:43
not on tight which once again wear shoes
5:45
so uh I like this unit great full body
5:47
workout cardio strengthening I'll put a
5:49
link on Amazon below uh if you want and
5:51
one of the more more important things
5:53
Beyond exercise is recovery and a lot of
5:56
people don't know which protein powers
5:58
to take uh they're taking protein
6:00
powders that aren't bioavailable meaning
6:02
they might ingest 30 or 40 grams of
6:04
protein but they're only getting like
6:05
five or seven of those 10 grams of that
6:08
protein uh I personally recommend a
6:11
specific brand of amino acids and I'll
6:13
link this up below that basically gives
6:15
you 99% absorption or utilization uh so
6:19
you know a big part with your Fitness
6:20
and strength building journey is not
6:22
just the exercise you're doing but your
6:24
recovery so you can get back in the gym
6:25
and keep building so I'll put a link up
6:27
to those amino acids below and I'll put
6:29
a link to that review video and then
