We've been testing over 15 of the latest golf bags to help you decide which is best for your game

In this video, I'll look at the best lightweight bags, the best waterproof bags, the best PU leather

bags, the best cart bags, and the best Sunday bags before declaring my overall favourite for 2026

Right, first up, lightweight stand bags. If you're in this part of the market, often the overall weight is going to be a big consideration for you. So here are some of my

favorite examples. You've got the OGO Featherlite. I mean, that's a name that has to be lightweight

It's two kilos and it's got 10 pockets in total, which is the most for a bag that's that lightweight

So if you're looking for that mixture of the two, plenty of storage, lightweight build, good

comfortable strap, OGO is an excellent example. It comes in some pretty funky colorways as well

Two good options from Ping. You've got the Moon Lander here, which is just under two kilos as well

Really like this little bag. It's pretty stylish. Got some cool patterns you get on it. four-way divider and just about enough pockets only just those so you've got a great neoprene

water bottle pocket on the front there and two side pockets it it's neglected the full length

apparel pocket you're used to in favor of a bit of a slimmer build which i really like but

if you're carrying apparel waterproofs you might miss that so you've then got the ping

hoofer which is only about half a kilo heavier i believe but you get a lot more bag there you get

five-way divider i think it's got 16 pockets in total which includes some internal pockets which

is quite a lot and the pink hoof is just a classic it's one of the best stand bags that's ever been

made and they still make it very well and some nice colorways as well but my overall pick has to

be the like the most lightweight bag on test and i'm not just giving that because it's so lightweight

it's also very practical very pretty very stylish it's this the sun mountain eclipse 1.5 as the name

might suggest it's only one and a half kilo so half a kilo lighter than anything else we've got

got on test in this video and it's really pretty it's got this sort of like tissue paper thin

fabric which at first I thought would be a little bit um it might wear quickly but it's a ripstop

fabric so it's incredibly hard wearing I think it looks really pretty and you've still got plenty of

padding and pockets on there the padding in particular on sun mountain bags is incredibly comfortable you get it on the shoulder strap and on the hip pad unlike the moon lander which so it's

still lighter than the moon lander but it's got that full length apparel pocket it's got a quick

easy access range finder pocket which is magnetic which i love as well not fully waterproof as none

of these are we'll do a waterproof category in a minute but as lightweight stand bags go this sun

mountain doesn't get much better right next up best waterproof stand bag now if you like the

look of the lightweight ones but need that all year round waterproof protection here are some great options for you sun mountain is a brand in general make excellent waterproof material they

seam seal both sides of the zippers on all their waterproof bags. So they're really impenetrable for any water

So I like Submountain as a brand for that. Big Max very similar in particular the Aqua 8H we tested this year It the most lightweight waterproof stand bag from this year test two kilos but still plenty of storage and again excellent reliable

waterproofing material i also really like the tailor-made storm drive from this year now i don't

normally recommend tailor-made bags that much i've not liked some of their stand bags recently but the

waterproofing material on this is fantastic i think it looks really pretty there's plenty of

organization and perfect if you're looking to match up your clubs with your bag which i know a lot of

people like to do which brings us the winner this year which is the Titleist Players S4 Stay Dry

the reason I picked this one in particular and it was a close one between all these bags but

the waterproofing and the material they've used on new bag for this year is all new for this year

is beautiful it's got this beautiful sort of matte finish to it which makes it look really premium

almost doesn't look waterproof and you pour a load of water over it and the water all

beads off especially in the the green color where we tested this year I thought it looked fantastic

good storage options comfortable strap looks really pretty and premium so if you're after a

good waterproof bag this year i'd recommend the titleist well my next category i don't really have the name properly i've gone for like posh

pu leather how about that we'll put the posh pu leather category here and this is a really

popular style of bag that more and more brands are introducing into their ranges as they become

more popular right uh one of those is wilson the 1914 stand back we've bought out this year

bit of a surprise i haven't seen a wilson bag for ages this thing's gorgeous it's so subtle

it's got a bit of embossed wilson logoing down the side but other than that the one i tested

just an all black lovely pu leather bag um great organization really lightweight as well i think

2.2 kilos something like that it's one of the lightest uh pu leather bags i've tested one of

sort of drawbacks to these is often quite heavy because they're not using the kind of lightweight

materials you get in waterproof bags or that we saw in the sun mountain from the the lightweight

section but that wilson one does offer you a more slimmed down version of what these bags are

you've got the ping reserve bag as well another sort of surprise one i didn't expect ping to bring

this out this year but really beautifully done it's got a clever uh pocket that you can take on

or off to add or take away storage make it a bit slimmer if you want to i like that addition

a couple of magnetic pockets on it as well and I'm a sucker for a magnetic pocket makes everything

feel more premium and does give you quicker access as well so the reserve is an excellent option but

my winner in this category and isn't one particular bag because there are so many here is Vessel. Vessel

are the absolute goats the Rolls Royces of making these styles of bags you're going to have to invest

a little more to get the Vessel brand but from my experience I've got the Sunday 3 here we've tested

the player five, the Sunday four, some of their cart bags as well, that investment is worth every

penny. The materials just go up a notch, the craftsmanship just goes up a notch. So whether

it a cart bag or whether it a stand bag if you in this posh PU leather made category I come up with I would go for vessel broadly as a band right next up best cart bags I don normally talk about cart bags because they so

often so featureless there's not much to differentiate between them I'll just say to

people get one you like the look of or that sort of matches the trolley you're using however I've

got some great examples that come out in recent years and bags that really innovate in this space

and might give you something a little bit different the one I've got in front of me here is the motor caddy protector and that name comes from this very unique top which does protect your

clubs it sort of locks them all in position here in head position and stops them from clattering

around and chattering each other it doesn't look it's a bit ungainly to look at the top section

that is i think the rest of the bag's really pretty but it's so effective i think if you're

often using carts or buggies or if you're using remote trolleys especially when the clubs are

going over uneven terrain bashing against each other not only is it going to protect them over

time it makes for less noise as well i think sometimes you've got those clubs chattering around it gets quite annoying and the bag itself fully waterproof one billion pockets on it that's

not an official line that's just anecdotally so a great storage option and something really unique

on the top half here big macs make a bag like this as well with this pretty much this exact same top

and ogeo's all elements silencer cart bag has a slightly different take on this instead of holding

it at the head end you put the club into the little unique sort of slot and it holds it at

grip end at the very bottom as well as on the shaft with a bit of a sort of silicone thing i'll

bring up some imagery of that now same concept holds a cup in place stops the chatter looks a

little bit smarter than this in my opinion so if you like the idea of that i wouldn't be too put

off by the look of these bags i think they're really useful but if you're fed up with the noise

and you're fed up a club sort of getting hit against each other there's a few cart bags with

those options if you're looking for lightweight and waterproof the power caddy dry tech is one

of the best out there again if you're trying to match it up with the power caddy i'd go straight

forward but even if you haven't got a power caddy trolley it's just over two kilos the waterproofing

on it is excellent and like all cart bags there's just so much storage you can put anything anywhere

pretty much but the winner for me in this category is the big max aqua ipx tour now this is a very

unique bag it is the world's first non-stitched heat welded bag and this process for me gives it

the new gold standard for waterproofing in golf bags. Not available in stand bags yet

only in this cart bag, and it is incredibly unique for its construction. The material's

got this beautiful sort of matte finish to it. It's almost like a wetsuit, a bit firmer than a

wetsuit, but not quite. But the same concept, the lack of stitches means no water can get in

I think it's a beautiful bag. Again, loads of storage, as it always is in Big Macs bags

They've also toned down the styling on it a little bit. I often found some Big Macs bags had too much writing on them

This is a little bit toned down. I think it'll get even more toned down in the future

And it's a really great cart bag. It only drawback for me is this new material quite rigid quite sturdy which is good in some sense It gonna last forever but it makes some of the pockets look a little bit funny they don sit as naturally as some of the other materials we see it a small trade for what is a really really cool golf bag something really unique

and if you're after a cart bag that is going to protect your equipment to the very end from water

sand dust whatever it is this is a fantastic option right final category is sunday bags and there's loads of kind of cool stylish vibey options in

here awesome practical ones as well uh the ojo fun day was my winner in last year's one i love

this little bag i like how it's got the little legs on the bottom to keep it off the surface if

it's wet or muddy or whatever and it's got these modular pockets on the bottom which allow you to

kind of add or take away pocket space as and when you need it so often sunday bags aren't very

practical for space this can have it if you want it it can also be really bare bones if you don't

either a good bit of padding on the hip pad and on the strap as well so that for me is the best

sunday bag from like a practicality point of view but two other options from this year that we've

tested that are more vibes based a bit more retro perhaps you've got the jones carry bag i think

they're absolutely gorgeous my colleague joe's been using that all year carries a full set of 14

listen there's barely any pockets in it you can carry a water bottle balls and teas that's about

it but you look a million dollars doing it and the vessel sunday carry um they've bought a proper

sunday bag to market this year they've got a bag called the sunday three and the sunday four it's

not an actual sunday bag this is an actual sunday bag and uniquely it folds away into its own bag

i can't quite work out why you'd want it to do that because if it's in its bag where are your

clubs going to go but i quite like the option anyway i like what vessel do i like that in

particular but if it's practicality you want from a sunday bag for half a set maybe nine clubs

the ojo funday is my winner again right on to my overall winner for 2026 i'm not going to call it the best bag because what's best

for me isn't best for you and vice versa so hopefully in the subcategories i've lined out

here you've got a few bags you'd like the look of and based on your priorities what you need from a

bag can go and pick your favorite but i will say my favorite and it might be recency bias but for

me the sun mountain eclipse 1.5 does everything a lightweight carry bag needs to do firstly be

really light this thing is the lightest i've ever tested that can still carry all 14 clubs it looks

good the material is super super durable and the straps and the hip pad is comfortable so when i do

carry i'm more a cart player actually i mean or a trolley player rather when i do carry i can take

all 14 clubs and apparel and balls and my rangefinder or strip out and carry half a set and

i look good and i feel good doing it as well so well done to some mountain for that but well done
