Hi everyone, it's Global Scholarships and I'm your host as I hope you're all doing well. I hope everything
0:05
is going great and today we're going to talk about how to find scholarships in the United States
0:11
Well, as I'm pretty sure you know, United States is literally the most popular destination for international
0:17
students looking to study abroad, looking to find a scholarship because not only United States
0:22
has like one of the most prestigious education systems but also it provides the most
0:28
scholarships for international students as well. So all of you are asking a lot of questions about the United States
0:36
You're interested in scholarships and universities in the United States. So we're going to see that today
0:41
Now, but before we see that, before we find out how to find scholarships
0:48
which I'm going to show you, like basically, if you do not know us
0:52
we are global scholarships. We are a platform that shares quite a lot of cool, very cool stuff
0:58
about scholarships, about studying abroad in general, or like being an international student
1:06
And we do have a YouTube channel as well, as you can see. So this is our website, global scholarships.com
1:12
And as you can see, when you go to our website, you are met with our search tool
1:18
So I'm going to show you how to use the search tool to find scholarships in the United States
1:23
which you can also use for finding scholarships pretty much everywhere. We have a very large database of scholarships that you can utilize
1:31
But before that, before going into all of these, the first thing you need to decide is
1:38
do you want to study in the United States? Like, how much do you know about the experience, about the requirements, about the programs
1:46
universities, and in general, like, how much do you know about studying in the United States
1:51
So for that, we have, as you can see, some real good guides
1:56
like under the guide section, as you can see, we have country guides
2:01
So I'm going to show you here we have a number of collections for a lot of countries
2:10
And all of these, like every single one of these collections have quite a number of guides
2:16
As you can see, this is our guide for studying in the United States
2:19
So this is like our ultimate guide, which includes a lot and lots and lots of
2:26
guides, I'm going to share the link with you in the description or in the comment section
2:33
You can use this page, use this collection, and you can go through these guides
2:42
And I'm pretty sure at the end you will come to a point where you have no significant gaps
2:48
in your knowledge about how to study in the United States. For example, we have here information on higher education, like a higher education
2:56
what types of higher education institutions there is in the United States
3:02
like what kind of degrees, maybe some frequently asked questions, like what grading system, etc., hang on
3:11
Yeah, all right. And et cetera, and for our every guide, like for every page
3:18
every guide, every scholarship page, every university page that we have, I'm going to show them to you in a second, in a minute
3:25
we have a comment section where you can leave your questions as comments and pretty much every question
3:33
that you might live here. Yanni, who is the founder of global scholarships, will answer them for you
3:41
I have never seen any questions that went unanswered in our comment section
3:46
So like if you want to reach and ask your questions to expert, this might be a
3:55
the easiest way for you. I genuinely have never seen any questions that he didn't answer here
4:00
Anyway, so this is, for example, higher education in the United States. We have here
4:05
pros and cons of the education system in the United States, which I believe is an extremely
4:09
important part. As you can see, we have some pros here advantages, diversity
4:17
global recognition, flexibility, enriching student experience. And then we have, as you can see
4:23
like under drawbacks, like the negatives. We have high cost of education, which pretty much everybody knows at this point
4:31
We have too much diversity in academic programs. This means too much diversity in like very different curricula
4:43
Like different schools can have very, very different curricula. So like this can create a discrepancy between the like different schools
4:51
That doesn't mean too much. in diversity of culture, and etc. Don't get it wrong. We have high admission requirements
4:58
Well, because, like, you know, it's a very prestigious high education center
5:04
Lack of social benefits during periods of study, restrictions on employment, opportunities
5:09
and work benefits, et cetera, et cetera. So, like, you can go through this
5:12
It's really important to keep informed about the education system of the country you are planning
5:18
to study in. And then we have, of course, choosing a university. in best universities in the United States for international students, best public universities
5:27
best private universities, best subjects. This is one of our most, like, most asked questions
5:36
I believe. We keep, look, if you do not now, we do live streams on YouTube every Friday
5:43
both on YouTube and TikTok. This is one of the guides we always have to refer to because a lot of people
5:51
are asking like how what questions are there sorry what universities are there that we can apply to
5:58
without any application fees so as you can see we have like 30 31 universities in the united
6:04
states with no application fees you can look into these um these are all like and as you can see we
6:11
have made a video on that it's kind of uh kind of popular and best schools offering us associate degrees
6:19
best programs to study i pretty sure sure we are asked questions about like I want to study this program I studying this So like can I go to the United States to study this
6:33
What universities do you suggest? As you can see, we have more, and we have quite a lot of these, too
6:41
Best music school, best design schools, best aviation schools, best universities to study biology, etc
6:49
and then we have applying to a university. This is, like, here we have, as you can see, a complete guide to university application in the United States
6:58
We have like the steps here and etc. You can look into these two
7:03
If you do not know, a lot of universities in the United States also accept Common App, Common Applications, which is a platform that you can create an account on
7:16
and then you use that to apply to a lot of universities
7:19
this in the United States. And we've made a tutorial on that too. I'm planning to do even more
7:25
tutorials. And as you can see, we have different guides for different levels, bachelor's, master's
7:31
PhD, documents and tests needed for university applications. As you can see, we have common
7:38
application here, 101. It's quite easy. Actually, I haven't made a, um, made a tutorial specific
7:49
for Common Apps. I think I'm going to do that quite soon. But like if you're interested, you can go to our
7:56
tutorial video for Cornell University. That's that tutorial will take you from the point of point zero
8:03
like point of Googling the university's name to the point where we have to pay the application fees
8:09
like step by step, that's a very comprehensive tutorial. And then we have English proficiency tests
8:16
complete guide on ILTS, Tuffle, and Tafel, and Telfil, and And then, as you can see, we have financing your studies
8:23
So we have how to study in the United States for free
8:27
As you can see, these are very popular guides, and we are making videos of these two
8:33
and they are also popular. I thought I made a video for this one
8:39
I guess I didn't. I'm going to look into that. So, as you can see, cheapest universities, cheapest programs, tuition fees
8:46
tuition-free universities, cost of studying and living in the United States, you can look into all of these
8:55
It is extremely important, extremely important to have a very good idea of how much you're going to need for your living expenses before going to a country
9:07
Trust me, you do not want to go there and find out that you're not financially prepared
9:13
and specifically for the United States, like living costs can really vary
9:19
depending on where you live, what school you're studying in. Like, for example, east coast and west cost
9:27
can be extremely high if you have to live somewhere like New York
9:31
or maybe California. Those will be very expensive, but other parts of the states
9:38
can be quite much more affordable. like we are talking about like maybe one third or half the living cost
9:46
And then we have, of course, as you can see, applying for scholarships, four types of US institutions and its financial aid to international students
9:54
how to file the CSS profile. Basically, the CSS profile is your, like
9:59
as a way for you to inform institutions of your financial situation
10:05
submit your financial documents and et cetera, et cetera. And of course, we have the, like, we have the main
10:11
topic, which is scholarship opportunities. And then we have like types of visa, work opportunities
10:18
online degrees and et cetera, et cetera. But like our main concern today is this one. As you can see
10:23
we have currently open scholarships in the United States. We have 19 best scholarships
10:28
in the United States for international students. We have Fulbright scholarships for international
10:32
students. And we have Fulbright Visiting Scholars Program. So basically, if you're interested in
10:37
finding out, like currently is staying updated on scholarships that are right now open for applications
10:45
This is for this one. But we also have videos on our YouTube channel that we share every Monday where we showcase like five
10:54
really good scholarships that are open at that point of time. We also have a newsletter
10:59
As you can see, you can just sign up here for free about us and newsletter sign up
11:05
So, yeah, here we have some schools. that are open right now, but we don't, like, we do not need that because I'm going to show you how to find scholarships in a second
11:14
And then, as you can see, we have 19 best scholarships, which apparently was turned into 17 best scholarships
11:22
I'm not sure what happened to the other two. As you can see, you can look into these two
11:27
Maybe I'll share the link for this one too. But let's come to our, come to the main point of the video
11:34
How can you find scholarships? in the United States using our amazing search tool
11:42
I'm saying amazing because I use it all the time and it's very helpful
11:46
You can just right now go to global scholarships.com without paying any fees, without even, as you can see, creating an account
11:52
You can just come here. Type in United States, choose the country
11:58
and our search tool will give you the results of 1,800 scholarships
12:03
that we have right now in the United States. As you can see, you can just click on any of these to go to our page
12:11
I'm going to show you how our pages work. As you can see, we have filters here by degree, by location
12:18
which is United States, by a scholarship type. Now, scholarship types, basically we have three different types of scholarships
12:25
partial funding, we have full tuition, and we have full funding. Partial funding means that it covers less than your tuitions
12:34
like maybe it will give you $5,000 every year. Maybe it will give you $20,000 every year
12:41
Maybe it will give you a 50% discount on your tuition fees
12:47
So it covers less than your tuition fees which is not really all that great considering the tuition fees are the biggest restriction financial restriction in America because a lot of them are like
13:01
$30,000, $40, $50, $60,000 every year. So, yeah, like, if a scholarship does not cover your
13:09
tuition fees, then like you will still need to shoulder quite a lot of financial burden
13:14
And then we have full tuition, meaning it covers the end. tired of tuition fees. You do not pay any tuition fees at all. And then we have full funding
13:23
which means it covers your tuition fees and then gives you some additional financial aid
13:29
It can be a stipend, a living allowance, I don't know, like a thousand dollar every month
13:34
perhaps, and it might be covering your accommodation, maybe like your travel costs
13:41
maybe health insurance. Health insurance is extremely important in the United States
13:48
maybe it will give you, like, book allowances. Some scholarships give laptop allowances and et cetera
13:55
Yeah, so this is that. Of course, like, the more comprehensive and the more beneficial the scholarship is
14:02
there are less of those. We have scholarship deadline. Like, if you want to look
14:08
there are scholarships that are open right now, and then we have subjects and nationalities
14:13
Now, a lot of people are coming to our live streams and asking questions, like I'm from this country, I'm from this nationality, and I want to
14:21
study with specific subject, can I find scholarships? Most scholarships, as you can see
14:28
do not really care about, hand columns, show you, financial aid for international students
14:36
for example. They don't really care about, like, nationalities or subjects. So pretty much
14:43
every scholarship here are available for all nationalities. Actually, let me just type in my, like filter in my nationality
14:53
And as you can see, we've lost less than 50 scholarships because of my nationality
15:00
And subjects, we can say just economics, for example. I cannot type in my own area of study
15:08
Okay. Oh, it went back. Hang on. Let me just... That's a little bug we still have
15:15
Okay, yeah, as you can see. Now, about subjects, when you use our search tool
15:23
sometimes there are schools that are like, schoolerships that are for all subjects
15:28
but you have to keep in mind that you need to check whether that schools offer that program
15:34
Anyway, so you can degree here, let's see, we have some, for bachelors, some for masters
15:43
For example, I'm a PhD student from Turkey, studying economics, and I am looking for full funding scholarships
15:57
As you can see, we have about 60. A lot of these are graduate assistantships
16:02
If you want to study masters or PhD, graduate assistantships might be a really good opportunity for you
16:10
in the United States because basically they are like being employed by the university
16:16
You go there, you work for 10 hours, 20 hours a week, and then they cover your tuition fees
16:21
They'll give you some stipend and et cetera. So let me show you how our pages for these scholarships work
16:30
So as you can see, this is our page for graduate assistantships at the University of North Florida
16:36
I think we've done this quite recently in one of the first
16:40
our live streams. As you can see, we have scholarship summary here. Level of study, this is for
16:45
a master's and PhD. We have host institution here, which you can click on to go and see about
16:51
the university. As you can see, like the location, population, number of scholarships. You can
16:56
click here on scholarships to see other scholarships as well in this university. And then, as you
17:03
can see, we have admission process here. We have deadline here. We have tuition fees. Now
17:10
$18,000, $14,000 is not very representative for tuition fees in the United States
17:16
because it's usually more than $30,000, $40, 50, if it's a private school, might be even higher
17:24
So, yeah, keep that in mind. Basically, you can get quite a lot of information about the scholarship, about the university
17:31
without ever leaving our website. And then, as you can see, we have all nationalities, all subjects, and this is full funding
17:40
meaning it covers more than tuition fees. And we have the deadline here
17:44
which is like it's currently open right now. And it covers your tuition
17:49
and it gives you a step with at least the state mandated minimum wage
17:56
So basically, again, it is like kind of like being employed. So you earn a wage which is like at least the minimum wage
18:03
can kind of vary according to the university or department. As you can see, we have the eligibility
18:10
the criteria here, we have the application procedure here, we have the deadline here, and if you
18:16
want to learn more about the scholarship directly from the university and maybe want to try to
18:22
apply, maybe want to ask them a question by contacting the university, you can just click here
18:27
to go to the official scholarship page, and boom, you're there. You can get the information
18:35
directly, which is why what I really, really enjoy about this. search tool because it will take you from the point zero where you're searching for scholarships
18:46
that you might or might not have you do not know to the point where you can just like contact
18:52
the university like eligibility here and like the application process as you can see so yeah that
19:00
takes you from from point zero to the point where you know what to do to get to earn that scholarship
19:07
So, yeah, as you can see, we have like bachelor scholarships as well here
19:12
Not that actually okay there are a lot of meilleur fund yeah full funding scholarships for bachelors These are mostly financial aids Financial aids mean that you
19:25
tell the university about your financial situation and the university takes that information
19:32
and says, okay, you need to have at least this amount of income
19:35
and your financial information shows that your family can contribute, let's say, 60% of that
19:43
and I'm going to cover the rest, you know, like if the university is, if the university is covering 100% of your demonstrated needs
19:54
So that's what demonstrated needs mean. Let's look at financial aid Harvard University
20:01
As you can see, this fully funded scholarship for international students covers 100% of the students demonstrated needs
20:09
So demonstrated needs mean... the amount of money, like amount of financial income that you might, you need to have to study in Harvard
20:19
that your family cannot contribute. So yeah, yeah, these are the old scholarships that you can look into, like you can just experiment with our search tool
20:31
You can just hit enter, by the way, you don't have to type in anything, and then you can, you know, filter for location and et cetera
20:40
So, yeah. But maybe you're asking, okay, as I'm like reading this scholarship information and then like clicking here, going to the university, it's all fine
20:54
But like what can you give me more as insight? Like what more insight can I get about like what, how to actually receive this scholarship
21:05
Like how can I gain more information from the people who receive
21:11
received these scholarships. So for that we have another section, which is something really cool that Global Scholarships does
21:21
that I really like. Under the Sources section, as you can see, we have these scholarship stories
21:28
Basically, global scholarships goes out and finds people who have earned and received some very popular scholarships
21:38
and have them to share their stories for our viewers, for other people to be able to read
21:46
For example, we have here scholarship stories by country. So as you can see, we have quite a lot of these scholarship stories
21:58
And we can just click here and choose United States scholarships. And as you can see, we have quite a number, like eight of these
22:08
scholarship recipients and one of them is Jan Nie, again, founder of global scholarships
22:14
and you can click on any of these people to learn their stories from their own telling
22:20
As you can see, here we have their journey, we have scholarship details, like what scholarships
22:25
did they receive, we have educational background, how did you prepare to apply for scholarships
22:31
and institutions, what would you have done differently and what advice would you give to those
22:36
looking to apply for a similar scholarship. And like this especially might be really important for you
22:45
Like if you're interested in studying in the United States and you want to find a scholarship in here
22:51
I would really go and read all of these people's, like their advice
22:57
Because like what better advice can there be than the advice of people who actually earn those scholarships
23:04
They give you different advice. like from starting out early, from sharing your personal stories
23:13
from, you know, to try to find partners to try to do this together
23:21
to get like more information on the internet, and trying to get more, get higher like test scores and et cetera
23:29
what to focus on. One thing to keep in mind when reading these. Now, I have done these videos for other countries too
23:36
And one of the most suggested thing by the scholarship recipients was to learn the language as much as you can and as early as you can
23:49
Now, here for the United States, no one really mentions it all that much, but I want you to keep in mind that that is probably because all of these people, because it's in English, you know, the native language is English
24:05
probably a lot of these people already knew that language quite well
24:10
So that might be one of the main reasons that the language barrier is not all that much mentioned
24:17
But normally quite a lot of scholarship recipients mention that one of the best
24:24
advices might be to learn the language as best as you can
24:28
not just to get the scholarship or to get a proficiency. test score, but also like maybe if you want to get a part-time job there, having a better command
24:41
of their language will make it very, very easier for you. So yeah, and that's pretty much it. I hope you
24:49
found this informative. So our website is a great tool to find scholarships wherever you want to
24:57
look for them. And also we are doing live streams every Friday on both YouTube and
25:05
and TikTok. Amen, our expert, joins me to answer all of your questions. And we go over different
25:11
some scholarship opportunities as well. We showcase some scholarships. We showcase how our system
25:17
works. And you can come and ask any questions that you might have. Other than that
25:23
just visit our website for more comprehensive guides. As you can see, we have quite a lot of
25:30
those. We have also, yeah, we have popular government scholarships as well
25:35
So we can look into those two if you're interested. So yeah, that's pretty much it
25:41
And, well, thank you for watching and see you in the next one
