He just wanted to come on and say hi
0:02
And a little surprise for Jeremy Clarkson, ladies and gentlemen. Joining us live
0:09
So, Britain's Got Talent back this weekend. Big night. It is a big night
0:14
Semi-final time. It is the penultimate semi-final, I think. Ahead of the final, I think
0:20
Anyway, it's on ITV at 7 o'clock. Set your alarms. And it's going to be a big night for you
0:25
It's a huge night because my Golden Butter, the Hawkstone Farmers Choir, are going to be performing
0:32
And two of the members are here, Katrina and Ben. Welcome to the show
0:37
I mean, it's always you two. Are you the gobby one? Something like that
0:44
Just for a moment, I'm trying to remember, when we last spoke to you, was that during the audition process
0:49
I'm trying to remember when you came on last. Yeah, I think it was just after I pressed the Golden Butter. Yeah
0:54
We had those, you came to Blackpool. Yeah, we did, yeah. And then..
0:58
It was Birmingham. Oh, no, it was Birmingham. Don't ask me because my direction's terrible. Oh, don't
1:01
I'm the one that's supposed to know. So, Katrina, just quickly remind us
1:06
that the Hawkstone Farmers' Choir, who you are and how you came into existence
1:10
Yeah, so we're a group of about 34 of us, all related to agriculture one way or another
1:16
Came originally together through Jeremy Clarkson, actually, sort of with the Hawkstone adverts and things
1:22
But we soon realised that we were much more than that. And we represent the farming community
1:27
Mental health in the farming industry is quite dire at the moment. And we realised that actually through singing
1:32
we can spread the message far and wide. And it's been one of the best things we've all done
1:38
Absolutely brilliant. Ben, you're a real advocate of the mental health side of things to do with this choir
1:44
Without getting sort of bringing it, it is super important. And being in the industry that you're in is very isolating
1:51
you spend an awful lot of time on your own. So how important, how much of a laugh is it
1:55
and how much joy is there when you are all together as a gang rehearsing? I mean, it's just been unreal, hasn't it
2:01
I feel like I've got 35, 40 brothers and sisters now. Like I'm an only child
2:05
That is a lot of Christmas presents. I know, tell me about it. Yeah, I'm waiting. But no, it's been an amazing experience
2:12
and hopefully we can raise our message more. Absolutely. And Katrina, I'm sure you've got a little present there
2:18
Yeah, we have. Oh You got another present Another present Yes please Christmas come early You have to put them on Are you going to have to wear them Oh my gosh Oh I love it
2:29
I bet Jamie's already got one of them. Have you got one already? Whoa! He will have
2:33
Oh, my God! I'm not trying to get it over my head, but... They actually suit you quite well
2:36
...in the cockswolds. I feel like David Beckham. Or one or a pinky blinder
2:41
Maybe. Maybe that's what I'm more like. There is also another present. Oh, there's enough. Hold on
2:44
I know what this is going to be. We're officially at Hawkstone Pharmacore
2:48
I'm members now. You are. There's no coming back out of that. I've got the T-shirt
2:53
Oh my gosh, I love it. Can I ask you, so how often do you all meet? I mean, presumably
2:57
you're rehearsing together? Yeah, so we do rehearse, but obviously being farmers
3:02
from all over the country and related to agriculture, it's really hard to get together
3:06
Yes. So we haven't got together as much as we'd have liked to. We've been together
3:10
maybe a few times, maybe, what? Three times recently. Yeah, three times recently
3:14
Weird news for me. Tell me you've done something. No, we have done some rehearsing
3:19
So we get sent all of the clips and we have to just rehearse at home. So we could be in the field, in the tractor, cooking
3:25
We're always rehearsing with these Google drives. Well, it's great to see British farmers
3:30
dominating our Saturday night TV viewing. And I know you want all farmers to vote for you
3:35
We do. You don't even have to be a farmer. Everyone to vote for you. We're going to mobilize
3:39
Farming affects everybody in the country. But it's not also just about the farmers struggling
3:44
Sometimes anybody can struggle. And that's what we want to say, that if you're not feeling okay
3:49
try and reach out. And you don't just have to be a farmer to not feel okay. There's a lot of people
3:54
that struggle in this life. And we want to push that message. One person who I know
3:59
will be voting for you is a heart listener who joins us now
4:04
He just wanted to come on and say hi. I've got a little surprise for you
4:08
Jeremy Clarkson, ladies and gentlemen. Joining us live. Up at the crack of Dawn wrangling sheep
4:17
Hi, Jeremy. Jeremy, can you... I just wanted to come on because I just wanted to say best of luck
4:25
because I'm not going to see you before the semi-final happens. Thank you so much
4:29
It's really important that you do well. So just do well. Yeah, I'm not really trying
4:35
Please vote. We've put an advert in this week's Farmers Weekly, which is not this hideous individual
4:41
We put an advert in there have you seen it With bumper stickers that people can have Oh my goodness on their car They vote for the former choir It fantastic And I know that Jeremy obviously
4:52
the choir is drawing an attention to a bigger cause. I know a lot of farmers feel isolated
4:59
and it's important that we all get behind them and support them, right? I couldn't agree more
5:03
I mean, I thought farming, when I first started, what, seven years ago
5:08
you just drove around in a Range Rover, I went to the pub occasionally and moaned about the weather
5:12
and then in February I went skiing. That was your life before. And then I started doing it
5:18
It's unbelievably difficult. And I'm lucky because I've often got a film crew here
5:23
so there's a lot of people. But when there isn't a film crew here
5:27
you start to realise, God, I'm all on my own, all day. Literally all day, six in the morning till midnight
5:33
All day on my own. And then you think, oh God, there's no money coming in
5:37
because there isn't. and then if you just think well what if you're an actual proper farmer like these guys are and
5:44
all the other people in the choir you worry about money you've got no one to talk to you're on your
5:49
own even it's not like most people work in an office or a shop or whatever factory these guys
5:54
are on their own worrying all day long that the weather's not right and there's another subsidy's
5:59
gone and they've been forced to grow bird food rather than human food you know it's it's a very
6:05
distressing industry at the moment. So it's great that the choir's kept going, actually
6:10
because we only brought it together to do some silly adverts for the Hawks and beer brand
6:15
And then they all went, well, this is great, we'll just stay together, as Katrina was saying. I think it's fantastic
6:21
It is fantastic. It happened on Britain's Got Talent, and you giving them the golden
6:24
buzzer, Amanda, that was just... Well, they moved me to tears, and when we met for a drink
6:30
recently, Jeremy, I've talked you through the voting process and what happened, so I'm
6:34
expecting you to put your vote in on Saturday? Well, I don't know
6:39
Are we allowed? Because we've got this huge farming festival this weekend
6:43
at the Royal Agricultural Showground in Warwickshire. And so there'll be loads and loads of people at it
6:49
And we've got, in the evenings, during the day it's animals and tractors and various things
6:54
But in the evening, we've got 10CC and Sophie Ellis-Bextra and Grieve Armada and Alex James. Really
6:59
It's all coming. And we're going to pause the music and then show Britain's got
7:05
Tarrant to the crowd Oh my God I might like to tell the crowd to vote Now I feel nervous You must be feeling terrible That not cheating Thanks for that Not cheating
7:17
Jeremy, I'm just going to ask you, Jeremy, don't go anywhere because we'd love to have a chat. We're going to have to say goodbye to the guys
7:22
to Katrina and Ben. Thank you guys so much for coming in. Thanks for having us
7:26
I'll come and see you Saturday. Don't forget, you can see Britain's Got Talent on Saturday
7:31
What time did you get up this morning? What was your first job? Oh no, it was an easy one this morning
7:35
I've got up about six, and all I've done so far is drink coffee
7:40
Fabulous. Same. And then it's good for you. I was talking earlier about this farming festival
7:47
so it's set up day to day, so I'm going up there to see what's going on
7:52
We've got a pub up there, and we've got a little shop up there. Brilliant
7:58
It's quite a big festival, so it should be quite good fun. Should be fun. Can I just say, you look very well, Joe
8:03
I know you've had a couple of health scares recently. No, I'm well, thank you very much
8:07
Yes, it was quite a fraught year last year, but no, I'm absolutely fine now
8:15
Tickety-boo. Tickety-boo. And the fifth series of Clarkson's Farm is coming out
8:19
I think, did you say June the 3rd? June the 3rd, it drops
8:24
I think that's the right word for screening services these days. And then there are four come out then
8:29
I think it's two the following week and two the week after that. The trailer is so dramatic
8:33
yeah it's the most dramatic one of the shows we've done so far
8:39
and it gets more and more and more dramatic toward the end yeah I'll say
8:45
no more than that because we're not actually doing any PR for this series at all so
8:50
yeah you probably don't need to doesn't need it does it doesn't need to you don't need to
8:54
especially you know he's on the front of Farmer's World or whatever it was called
8:58
what world do you need Farmer's Weekly Farmer's Weekly I know look at that Caleb
9:03
Caleb, he's been signed up my storm Well, listen It would be lovely to see it back
9:11
Clarkson's farm back on the 3rd of June Jeremy, thank you for joining us this morning
9:15
I really appreciate it And vote for the Farmers' Choir Vote for the Farmers' Choir, yay
9:19
Cheers Jeremy Thanks Jeremy Bye now It's hot
