As you can hear, it's Bev turning very excited
0:02
It's a GB news for a family, and we love to share the successes and triads of all those in it
0:07
And our wonderful guest, Monica, who's been away, stepping into her new role as a mum to healthy baby boy, Wilfred George Dunnett Stone
0:17
More affectionately known as Wilfie. And here's Olivia. Oh, Olivia. Honestly, I'm not so keen with dogs in this studio, but this is my idea of heaven
0:27
She's loving it. Gorgeous. Thank you so much for bringing him in
0:31
Oh, it's such a pleasure. GB News viewers and listeners just want to know, how are you
0:35
Oh, I'm so good. I'm so grateful for everyone's lovely comments and so much support from all the GB News viewers
0:41
It really does... Yeah, Wolfie likes that too. Yeah, I'm really, really loving it, having the best time
0:47
He's four and a half months now. I think he's drooling on your drugs. I don't mind baby drool
0:51
And, yeah, we're having such a wonderful time. He was born just before Christmas
0:55
so we had Christmas at home with him, which was really, really lovely. He's not a bad sleeper, are you darling
1:01
Yeah. And he's got lots of doting grandparents. So, yeah, we're all loving it
1:06
And I was wondering, actually, before you came in today, as a political editor you talk all the time about all the big issues on this show don you On this channel NHS and education and crime and maternity services Are you seeing things a little differently now that you a mum
1:22
Absolutely. I mean, particularly crime. The area we live in in London is sort of fun, up-and-coming part of London
1:29
I won't name it. I don't want to offend people who live there too. But I have really, really noticed just how dangerous it can be in some ways
1:37
And, you know, the things that I turned a blind eye to before when walking down the street, the kind of stolen line bikes, the low level crime everywhere, the bacon in locked plastic boxes in Tesco because there's so much shoplifting
1:49
I really noticed that so much more. And it makes me sort of rethink where we want to live, where we want to sort of settle down in the future
1:58
as the NHS. I mean, I'd very luckily never really been exposed to the NHS at all in my life
2:04
before he was born. And now suddenly I realised, you know, obviously just how important it is. We
2:10
talked about these long waiting lists for GPs, etc. And I was thinking about it in my job and in a
2:16
very theoretical sense. And now I really feel it. Well, what happens if he does get ill? And
2:20
I have to wait weeks and weeks to see my GP So far I have to say Lewisham Hospital was fantastic our local GP has been very good But I know that that not the case around the country and I do feel it so much more I think as a parent You be thinking at some point soon I guess to be a school
2:37
Schools, I know. And I've been walking past this school right at the end of my road
2:42
Walked past it so many times, never thought anything about it, and now I'm Googling all the Ofsted reports
2:47
And, yeah, I mean, it's very keen for him to go to one of those academies, which seem to be so good
2:54
I wonder what's going to happen with those. But, yeah, I've got my eye on the ball so much more
2:58
And are you missing us? Are you missing work? I am, you know. I'm so clueless about politics at the moment
3:04
Barely know who the Prime Minister is. Shake it off. Shake it off. Yeah, shake it off
3:10
That's what I was thinking for the last sort of few months. I was totally oblivious and then tuned into the local elections
3:16
and it got a bit more exciting. But, yeah, this weekend when I was sort of reading the news
3:21
for the first time genuinely in about four months, I did start to get quite excited about coming back and seeing you all again
3:26
and using my brain for something other than nap times and nappies
3:31
If you're used to a sort of very intellectually stimulating job and you have to be on your A-game
3:36
it can be quite different being at home with a little baby. I'd be on my A-game with you today, darling
3:41
Gorgeous as well. A little cracker Gorgeous absolutely gorgeous My mum would say Bonnie boy Ah that what my mum says as well yeah That what my mum would say Bonnie boy
3:53
Pink little jeans and big bald head. Yeah, he's absolutely beautiful. Well, we have missed you, Olivia, and we are looking forward to you
4:00
You're not coming back straight away, though, are you? You've got a few more months left. A few more months left, coming back at the end of the summer
4:05
Right. Oh, you'll be back in time for the party. Back in time for the party conferences. I'm so excited about that
4:10
My birthday is the first day of a Conservative Party conference. Back with a bang
4:14
Poor you. He's got a very tight grip. And there's pretty powerful lungs, I'd say
4:19
Pretty powerful lungs when they want... Absolutely. He's been very good, haven't you, Wilfie
4:23
Well, we are honoured that you've chosen Britain's newsroom to come back and introduce Wilf to us
4:28
In GB News socks for the occasion. The GB News family. Well, Emily Carver's not far behind you
4:33
I know, we're so excited about that. There are a few baby socks in that office right now, actually. So it's wonderful
4:38
We're doing our bit... You've got an old broody, then. Well, I think that, yeah. Anyway, but, you know, they are gorgeous
4:44
Quite nice, though, once you've been through it, to be able to play with them and then hand them back, Olivia, I have to say, that is really lovely
4:49
But you're doing your bit for the population decline. Absolutely, yeah. Take it on one baby at a time
4:55
Well, he's absolutely gorgeous. Let me do that as well. See, women, mums can multitask
5:01
Right, Olivia and Will, thank you so much
