It was definitely very nerve-wracking, but just also really exciting
0:04
It was a great opportunity. I've never really done anything like it before on TV
0:09
so, yeah, it was really good fun. From where I'm sitting, you didn't look nervous at all
0:15
and I've been listening to that in my ear, and you sound absolutely amazing
0:20
So, yeah, fantastic job. How did you get into singing? It's something I've always loved, really
0:28
I started having proper lessons when I was eight years old, I think. And I just have done so ever since
0:37
I've actually done grade eight and I'm singing and I've done a diploma in musical theatre
0:43
So it's something I put a lot of time to and really enjoy. You say you've never done anything like that before
0:48
in that sort of setting with lots of TV presenters wearing make-up standing around you
0:53
But you've done some singing in other venues as well. Yeah, definitely
0:58
Most of the sort of really proper things I've done before have been in choirs
1:04
I actually sang in the Royal Albert Hall a year or two ago with the National Youth Choir
1:09
and in St George's Chapel in Windsor as well with my school choir
1:13
That was actually probably one of my favourite things. It's a really beautiful venue
1:17
Alan, you must be such a proud dad. Oh, absolutely. I've got two daughters
1:22
They both sing. They both play the piano. and, you know, it was really, really well done on the day
1:29
Obviously, she was nervous, but I think her mum and I were more nervous than she was
1:33
to be honest. But she pulled it off and we watched it last night
1:38
and I think we've played it probably about 20 times back since. So, yeah, no, we're really proud
1:44
It was really a great opportunity, really. And the first hint I got of it was
1:51
I think it was Patrick Christie said he's going to be in Bromley soon. but he didn say why And then later on they said about the carol concert So I just contacted one of the producers in the studio and asked where is it
2:05
And they said, Bromley. And I said, oh, do you want a soloist? And they came back, well, send us a video
2:12
So I sent her a video and almost straight away, I got a reply back saying, fabulous, yes, we want her
2:22
And that was it. she was in. It was meant to be. Oh, absolutely
2:27
And it's a great opportunity because we love GB News and the fact that it is in Bromley is just the icing on the cake
2:36
Absolutely incredible. Yeah, we enjoyed it very much. Lucia, who would you say are some of your musical inspirations
2:43
or favourite singers? Oh, God, I listen to quite a lot. I guess I'm more a fan of older stuff
2:56
Yeah, like 70s, 80s I quite like pop-wise, but I also do listen to quite a bit of classical music
3:02
I've been doing recently. Well, we started on Gilbert and Sullivan quite young
3:07
so she's been to a lot of the sort of productions that they've done in London
3:14
Helps have a musical family, doesn't it, in this sort of... Oh, yeah. You're getting into this. And when you have such a natural talent as well
3:19
it must be so helpful to have music in your home as a broader thing. There's always singing in the house
3:25
I'm not surprised, but you've got such a talent, why wouldn't you, right? Except one of the daughters
3:31
She has this amazing ability, and at times she can make grown-ups cry
3:36
And I have that same ability, but unfortunately it's for a different reason
3:40
So they either cry or leave the room pretty quickly. Well, thank you very, very much for joining us, and we loved that
3:46
So, yeah, massive congratulations for doing that and getting involved and making our Christmas
3:53
Merry Christmas to you too. Merry Christmas to you both. Thank you so much for coming in
