This is comedy gold, isn't it
0:01
Because, I mean, you've got Starmer already looking like a rabbit caught in the headlights. I mean, he knew all his corns were going to be trodden on
0:08
And as you say, his anxiety rituals were there. He adopted a fig leaf pose at the start here, which is very self-protective
0:14
But then as he heard the freedom of speech come up, he did this very strange gesture of brushing the back of his hand
0:20
Now, that's an act of distraction. If you've ever seen a cat catch a mouse, it will get to the point of killing
0:26
and it will suddenly start cleaning itself or scratching to stall for time
0:30
But in actual fact, it was more like he was the victim at this point. Then he decides to do incongruent ritual
0:37
He puts one hand in his pocket to look casual. He adopts that sickly grin
0:42
But then he does this, do you remember Rod Hull and Emu? He does this kind of pinched hand gesture
0:48
It's a beat hand. I noticed you almost did it in the introduction, actually
0:51
It's quite contagious. But it implies strong precision. but added to that sickly grin that he was doing it totally incongruent God all right OK I always have to watch what I do when I around you Junior No yours was good Yours was nice I don know what to do
1:08
This is what happened, I think, was it with Sadiq Khan now? Let's play this. I'm not a fan of your mayor
1:13
Why not? I think he's done a terrible job. The mayor of London
1:18
But the nasty person. Are you worried about that? I think he's a friend of mine, right
1:24
No, I think he's done a terrible job. but I would certainly visit London, yeah
1:31
What do you make of that? How to get ignored. I don't know if you noticed, but Starmer was actually mimicking Trump's body language at that point
1:38
He was doing the knee splay. He got the downward steeple. So he thought he was OK at that point
1:44
Then when his friend started to get himself, you can see suddenly his face drops
1:50
And he does that awful, rather embarrassed. He holds his arm out as though to stop Trump
1:54
Trump absolutely ignores him. And then we get again that rather sweaty comment he a friend of mine but Trump again continued And the other thing that Trump was doing to him is this kind of thumb jerk that he did to Starmer a few times when Starmer disagreed with him which is a great put down when somebody it like oh yeah you know whatever
2:16
Yeah, dismissive. Fascinating stuff. I've got one more for you. Now, this, I think, was one of my favourites of the day, really
2:23
where President Trump essentially told Sir Keir Starmer what to do if he wanted to win the next election
2:29
and then basically described Nigel Farage's manifesto. But anyway, here we go. You know, politics is pretty simple
2:35
I assume there's a thing going on between you and Nigel. It's OK. There's two parties
2:42
But generally speaking, the one who cuts taxes the most the one who gives you the lowest energy prices
2:48
and the best kind of energy, the one that keeps you out of wars
2:53
just kept you out of wars, but the one that keeps you out of wars. You know, you have a few basics
2:57
and you can go back a thousand years, a million years, whoever does these things
3:01
but low taxes keep us safe keep us out of wars no crime stop the crime What did Starmer body language tell you there He kind of goes from out experience
3:15
where he's sitting there but his brain's walked out the room, into this kind of schoolboy thing where he leans away
3:21
I don't know if you noticed, he just pulled at his tie slightly as well. Very submissive body language
3:26
And he ended up doing little micro-nods as though he was actually being taught how to win an election
3:32
I mean, honestly, I was crying so hard I could barely yse it. I was crying with laughter at that point
3:38
And when he was told that Farage was a good guy, you know
3:42
he literally leant completely away at that point. I have to also mention in dispatches, though
3:48
he tried to get that bromance pat going outside. I don't know if you saw that
3:54
You know that horrendous pat he did when he handed Trump the invitation for the king
4:00
and he kind of, you could see him building up to it and he managed to get one hand on the shoulder
4:05
but it was a lightning gesture and Trump just ignored it and did a handshake instead
4:10
I'm sorry, it was very funny
