Hello, my name is Marjorie and I'm a Baptist minister in Sheffield
0:11
In Luke's Gospel, Chapter 7 in the Bible, we encounter a heartbreaking scene
0:17
a funeral procession for a young man, the only son of a widow
0:21
For her, this wasn't just the loss of a son, he was the family breadwinner
0:26
It was the loss of her future, her support, her whole identity
0:32
She was alone, broken and grieving. And then Jesus comes near. Everything changes when Jesus meets someone
0:42
The text says that when the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, don't cry
0:49
He approaches the body, touches it and speaks words that only he can speak
0:55
Young man I say to you get up And he does Life returns where there was only death This miracle isn just about physical resurrection amazing as that is It a
1:09
window into the heart of Jesus. He sees our pain, he moves towards our brokenness
1:16
and he speaks life into what seems hopeless. Maybe today you're carrying something that
1:23
feels dead. A relationship, a dream, your hope. Spiritual death can be just as real as physical
1:31
death. The same Jesus who raised the widow's son sees you. He hasn't changed. His power to resurrect
1:39
isn't just for the past, it is for now. It is wonderful to know that there is hope beyond us
1:46
And we see in this story, death does not have the final word
