0:06
Having a custom domain is going to be helping you not only encasing your brand but also provide a more professional look to your online presence
0:13
Whether you are running a business, showcasing a portfolio or creating a website, this guide will help you to link your Canva site into a name-tubed domain
0:20
So let's get started. So why connecting a custom domain to Canva website
0:24
A custom domain plays a vital role into the website identity, it makes your site easier to remember and can boost your CEO efforts
0:31
Before beginning guys, what you want to do is to ensure that you have published a Canva website on a domain registered with Namechip
0:36
Now first of all, we start by preparing your domain inside Namechip
0:40
Configuring your Namechip domain. What you want to do first of all is to login to your Namechip account and go directly into your dashboard
0:47
Once you are here into your Namechip dashboard, what you want to do is to focus into the URL and the domain you want to access here
0:54
Now, this is where we're going to be adding all the DNS webcodes provided by Canva
1:00
So I'm going to hit into Manage. Now, obtaining the DNS settings from Canva
1:04
Now, let's go back here into Canva. Directly that we are in here, Canva provides the necessary DNS settings to link to your custom domain
1:12
Navigate to the Website Settings or Domain Settings section in Canva to find these details
1:18
Now, switch to your Canva website editor. Canva provides the necessary DNS settings to link to your custom domain
1:24
So, copy the DNS records as you'll need them to the next step into Namechip
1:29
If this is the first website that you created, you're going to see something like this
1:33
So, we can see that you've published your website. Of course, you want to enable the web navigation
1:37
And for now, let's go for the free domain. Now, let's go here into Continue
1:43
And here you want to enter yourself's domain. Let's say for example that this is photographics.photio.techexpress
1:53
And then you're going to hit into Continue. You can use only latest
1:58
So, I'm going to use latest and hit now into Continue once again. And here's the page URL
2:03
So, let's say for example that I have the About. This is an About section
2:08
So, now let's head back into Namechip. Let's update the DNS records into Namechip
2:13
Back into your Namechip account, head to the DNS settings for your domain. Here to add a DNS record provided by Canva
2:19
I'm going to hit into Advanced DNS. And usually, the DNS is going to be something like this
2:24
CNAME record www.canva.com for example. Now, in here, we don't have the DNS since we are only able to add a free version of our custom website
2:37
Because we are currently using an actual Canva for Education users. So, for Teams, only administrators and owners can access these features
2:47
So, it's really important guys that if you are working into Canva, you need to Canva Pro or Canva for Teams or for Education
2:54
But being an actual administrator or an owner. But don't worry, all these elements are going to be appearing like this
3:00
So, once you find it, the CNAME, just going to add it in here. And automatically, it's going to be asking you to impose your info directly into your website
3:08
And hit now into the view navigation. Of course, with navigation. And here is my custom website
3:16
If you edit your website, it's going to be needed to get approved once again
3:20
In order to check it out. And then later on, your account should be already being connected to your new domain
3:27
Now, penalizing the connection. After entering DNS records into Namechip, save your changes
3:31
DNS updates can take some time to propagate so your domain may not immediately react to the Canva site
3:36
Once the DNS changes have taken effect, your custom domain will be connected to your Canva website
3:41
And you are good to go. So guys, that is actually it
3:46
You have successfully connected the Namechip domain to your Canva website. This new connection allows you to showcase your Canva site under a custom professional website address
