How to Add Gifs on Shopify (2024) Step by Step Tutorial

What is up everybody, welcome to this new video tech press. Let's take a look at how we can add GIFs into Shopify

So it's actually really really simple. The very first thing you want to do is to make sure that you have an active Shopify store

And once you have that, you want to focus into what is the actual place you want to add your own GIFs

Whether that would be like GIFs you download from giphy.com or you create your own or you create GIFs for your content, your product, whatever

That totally depends on you, but the process is actually, let's say, exactly the same

So if I go into my sales channel, you can see my online store. I'm going to hit into customize

And here into my customize, this is like a default, how it's going to be looking at my actual store

So I have my featured products in here and I have subscribed to our mails

So what I want to do is to try to look out for a new section

So I'm going to get into my pages and here have a default page, for example, how to buy things

If you don't know how to buy your products, this is the page for you. So what I wanted to do is to add a new section where I can add a feature text

So let's say, for example, that I wanted to add a GIF in my case is this one

So you can go into giphy.com and here you want to look out for the GIF you are actually looking for

So let's say, for example, I like this one, Homer Simpson, and I want to add this backing up

So I wanted to go back here. Even I can choose a custom liquid section

So the custom liquid is going to be showing me to add app snippet or other liquid code to create advanced customization

So that means that if I go in here, I have the show and I have the code

So if I hit into Nbeamed, I can hit into copy this code and I can go back and I paste this custom liquid into this new section

And automatically this GIF is going to be appearing into the actual website

So what is left to be done for me is just to try to change how it's going to be looking my actual GIF

For example, I'm going to keep this and put this a little bit down or to change the how to input this

So the other way, the other solution that I can give you is to do this directly into your actual page

So I'm going to go back. I'm going to actually delete this section, this custom liquid, or I can just hide it at the moment

I'm going to go into the exit section and now I'm going to focus into my sales channel

You want to go into your online store, but instead of just choosing online store themes focused into pages, for example

So into pages, I have a page that says how to buy things, right? And here I have my content

So if you don't know how to buy your products, this is the page for you. And this is the part where I wanted to add the actual GIF of this guy

So I can go and just change this into alignment. And this is the part where I wanted to focus where I want my GIF

And then you wanted to click into this one. This is show each HTML

There we go. So once again, this is the page for you

I'm going to just enter. I paste and I show my editor

And as you can see, this is how it should be looking. And there we go

So the last thing is that if you wanted to add GIFs for a specific product, I can go into products

And here into products, you want to choose a collection you want to add. So, for example, I have this product. I have my media and I'm going to go for add from URL

So I just paste it. Of course, instead of in beamed, I go into show, copy the GIF link and I paste it inside here

And automatically it's going to be parent into my actual products. I'm going to be putting this one in here and I'm going to hit now to save

And once you have saved this, you can hit into preview. So as you can see, it wasn't that hard to add GIFs into your actual Shopify store, whether you want to use this for a page, for a product, for a blog

or whatever kind of places you are doing it inside Shopify. And the best part, totally for free
