five others remain hospitalized including the shooter who was the son of a Leon County

Sheriff's Deputy. Now the first 911 call started coming in around noon, an active shooter situation

on the campus of Florida State University. Multiple injuries were reported, officials again confirming two people were killed

five others hospitalized at a hospital there in Tallahassee. Authorities quickly took a suspect into custody

He has been identified as the 20-year-old son of a female Leon County Sheriff's deputy

Now, the sheriff says that the suspect had access to at least one of his mother's weapons

We are hearing that it was a personal weapon that she had purchased from the department when she was issued another gun

and that the suspect also was heavily involved with civilian police training

So he has been steeped in the Leanne County Sheriff's Office family

engaged in a number of training programs that we have So it not a surprise to us that he had access to weapons This event is tragic Campus police quickly placed FSU on lockdown advising students to

stay in place until authorities arrive. The school sent out a campus-wide alert to make students and

faculty aware of the situation. Students are reporting that some hid in the student union

building, which is where the shooting took place this afternoon. Many also report seeking shelter

just simply wherever they could. Reports of the bowling alley because, again, students were on

campus. One student describes what she saw minutes after shots rang out. And we're also hearing from

a parent who rushed to FSU after his daughter told him what had happened. As I was walking back

I see these group of girls crying, really upset, walking back from the student union

told me they heard gunshots and they just ran and came back to their apartment where I was walking to
